Y'all keep quoting Drake's pure sales but I just realized every Rap album minus Kendrick is in the 3k range in that prediction

good numbers for kendrick.

drake is still huge, but it's hard not to think he was expecting fake love to perform better, and now same with passionfruit. hopefully passionfruit continues to rise and become a smash

Please explain how doing 235k units in your 2nd week is "very bad." :deadbanana2: My goodness. Only a few rappers can do that in their debut week.

Oh, i thought this was his debut week, my bad

OT: Drake :deadbanana3:

And the fact HDD has now stopped posting a SPS Top 15 & Sales Top 15, and now only a SPS Top 20.

It's almost as if pure sales hold no weight over SPS to... everyone in the entire industry.

Hiphop albums pull huge SPS numbers but those pure sales are pretty weak and frontloaded

great for Kendrick, the sales drop is pretty bad but it´s what it is, he took over the streaming throne :clap3:

rooting for Staspleton next week!

What happened to the Drake's pure sales, though? Could someone explain me what exactly happened? This is very unfair... :dies:

Why tf do y'all care about pure sales? There's a reason why they do SEA - most people simply don't buy albums they stream them.

Good 2nd week for Kendrick.

______

I don't get the faux shock over More Life numbers.. It's a playlist. Y'all acting as if Drake was pushing it as something bigger and it flopped.

Im actually surprised he made it available for purchase. Thought he would've taken the streaming only route.

What happened to "Accidental Racist" Brad Paisley's career? He used to be the KING of male-female duets :jonny:

Because this album has no male-female duets. And the Timbaland collabs make him look like a sell out(It's actually bluegrass)

Entire album will have visuals though:duca:

Kendrick's 2nd week pure sales are much lower than I thought (100k)...

Will Drake even do 500k on pure sales? Like, what happened?

He sold 1.5 million a year ago. More Life is a better album, people are tasteless

I've said this before, but I'll say it again: it's patently obvious that Drake's fanbase (remember, devout fans are pretty much the only people buying albums) perceived Views to be a proper album and More Life not to be one-- whether you and I do is beside the point.

There is a reason that both albums broke streaming records despite More Life selling 600k less in pure sales in its debut week. For what it's worth, ML is holding up quite well. 75-80k is good for a sixth week, and as Passionfruit, Portland, and Free Smoke continue to grow on radio, it should be able to stay relatively stable.

Cant believe that mixtape excuse is still being touted. Embarrassing. By no definition is it a mixtape other than he just said it was such so its sales will look more impressive. Cause, y'know, its just a mixtape. But its an album by any definition. Large collection of songs released for purchase. Not released for free to give a taster by a new act.

And yes we still care about real sales cause its still the only honest measure of popularity and also the platform where theyre all on a level playing field. And with streams its the same fans streaming week after week so it doesnt give a honest account of widespread appeal amongst the GP. I dont care how many times a fan plays their faves music. If they actually bought it once it would only ever count once.

It's really not a bad drop, you see a lot of 90% pure sales drops nowadays...
