I'd say it's half and half which isn't terribly unusual for a popular act. And there's more to Single Ladies that meets the eye (or ear lol). I also found it kinda annoying past the year 2009 until some music theorists deconstructed the composition. The song is designed to be deceptively simple. It's not one of her hits that I seek out but if it comes up in a shuffle, I don't skip it like I used to. I listen with fresh ears.
