As much as homegirl raps and does her hiphop thing, she fits the popstar label sm more. She could be a la Beyonce and Rihanna in the sense that they rap-sing in their hits. She has an AMAZING singing voice to boot and can DANCE circles among all MPGs bar Beyonce.

this performance is campy, rapstar and vocalist all in ONE.

She's more of a pop star. Although the lines between a major label rapper and a pop star are getting more fuzzy these days.

People know her for one song, a pop song, where she is mostly singing, so a pop girl

pop girl that can rap

unless she releases a hit song that's straight rap maybe gp will see her as a rapper

An artist, as everyone should acknowledge her as

This.  She’s actually a good mix of both rapper and popstar.

She can’t really be categorized, which is the more interesting point here.

SN: People sleep on her lyrics too.  Probably because she doesn’t market herself as an emcee as much as she SHOULD (like Megan, Nicki, etc).  But she has clever lyrics.

She said she’s doing less rapping about sex on DC3, there will be variety in subject matter.  So maybe it’ll solidify her as a rapper.

She’s considered as part of the new wave of female rappers alongside Megan, Saweetie, City Girls etc. by the GP.

i always thought she's an R&B singer (like Tinashe, Kehlani, Jhene) who can rap

80% of her biggest hit, Say So, is singing. So I think the GP considers her as a pop star that can rap. I like her rapping style the most among the new rap girls but then i dont really listen to hip hop outside of female hip hop so i really have no say in this.

There's a reason PF:RR is my favorite Nicki album which it's generally hated among rap listeners :bibliahh:

Most of my male friends don't even consider Nicki or Cardi rappers :rip:

Why would you associate with such trash? :rip:  OT: She is a popstar. Hot Pink was produced by Dr. Luke. :rip:

She's a hybrid. She can sound like two different artists in one song when she both sings and raps, she's brilliant.

why label her as a single entity when it's clear that she can do both?

...and only two of those singles can be considered Pop (“Say So” and “Like That” <- a stretch).  :rip:

“Rules”, “Shine”, “Cyber Sex” are not Pop.

I think the gp views her as a pop star since they mostly know her from Say So. She's definitely a hybrid of both tho which makes her quite the threat in the current soundscape
