it is not overshipped when the product is selling well, and sold most of its shipment.

overshipped is for albums with big shipments due to hype and previous albums's success but failed to sell that.

Ok, I think I understand overshipped slightly wrong :eli: I tried to say that there's sales shift between retail numbers and shipment.

I guess because they all use different method. and maybe different gross?

like If we use UK method on US numbers... they will be like 50% down.

but yeah. they should make sps album chart too.

it will be some hard works and making rule for it.. blahblah

but since they can access to global streaming numbers, why not?

IFPI doesn't collect data from DSPs (digital service providers - like Spotify) directly. Main model looks that:

1. Labels collect all data from retailers (shipment) / and DSPs (Spotify, iTunes)

2. Local phonographic societies like RIAA or BPI collect data from labels

3. IFPI collect data from all societies.

Of course it would be better to build one big database and I'm nor sure why Nielsen or Gfk don't start WW tracking...

If we talk about global SPS charts. The best idea is to track revenue from all sources - that's how major labels compile their internal WW ranks.

PURPOSE - JUSTIN BIEBER

IFPI:

2015: 3,1kk

2016: 1,4kk-

Total: 4,5kk

Media Traffic:

2015: 3kk

2016: 2,3kk

Total: 5,3kk

Media Traffic is still wrong

Looks like Mediatraffic has been counting streaming for a lot of countries as album sales for a while. That's probably why Anti was "selling" so well without actually charting well on iTunes WW?

No... Media traffic had Views (which is huge on streaming) at 2.6M and IFPI has it at 2.3M, not a big difference. Anti is most likely just outside of the top 10 with 1.3M-1.4M.

(it's certified platinum in 7 countries / gold in 4 countries, didn't do as bad as people may think it did WW)

Don't most certifications include streaming?

I think, I'm not sure tho, Mediatraffic  was more off for artist who were streamed globally a lot, like Justin and Rihanna, not like Drake, who is mostly a US act, which has more transparent stats.

RIH + BEY !!! The pop girls releasing music in 2017 have been a disappointment so far.

Rih is on her mogul and actress s**t and Bey should be on maternity leave for the next two years.

It did, but Lemonade shipped more. Lots of the sales of 25 in 2016 comes from the 2015 shipments :date3:

It did. IFPI tracks shipments, not sales. 25's 2017 physical sales were mostly shipped before the end of 2016.

OT: Glory at #24 :clap3:
