biblicalmonster
While I've already created various hits correlated with "Million Reasons", I've noticed quantities of members continue, well, to let's say "neglect" the success of this song. They undervalued it by claiming MR has been widely discounted as well as promoted as it's been shoved down our throat, and blah, blah, blah . Even though the second single from Gaga's 5th studio album failed to rank proficiently on year-end charts, it's been as you probably know certified 3x platinum in the US. The latter enjoyed as much as success as no other female solo song has managed to exceed more than 1,1 million downloads in this territory. And what better than a Billboard record held to highlight one of the strengths of the song? By the way, it's a few steps away from reaching the 500M mark on Spotify, so hands on your streams! So, why do you think ATRLers keep downplaying the success of this song? Delusion, bad faith, jealousy? Argue, and please, remain classy and controlled like I usually am. naval23
It didn't make the year-end chart and only spent 1 week in the top 10 (and 2 weeks in the top 20?) It's still impressive it sold 1M+ pure and is 3x platinum, but it's chart run kind of told a different story. But if "Chained to the Rhythm" was a hit, then "Million Reasons" was definitely a hit, it all depends what you consider a "hit".

DirtyPony87
It’s a hit - even if it’s just a moderate one - and it’s a remembered one. You’d have to be a fool or just deliberately obtuse to deny that. The numbers don’t lie.

Million Reasons keeps getting 200k+ daily streams on Spotify, it outsold songs that made it into your beloved year-end chart, such as CTTR, Praying, Malibu, What About Us, Delicate, Water Under The Bridge, Sorry, et cetera. So this clearly shows that charts don't show the reality
Hot Volcano
1 minute ago, suburbannature said: Last time I checked Million Discounts wasn’t 9x platinum. the point is, both songs didn't have a good chart-run, meaning chart-run doesn't mean much when certain songs have longevity and become hits over time. don't make me pull out chart-runs of some Mariah #1 singles
alejandreaux
monsters want people to think it’s a smash. OGHs want people to think it’s a bomb. I feel like most other people can acknowledge that it’s somewhere in the middle: a solo ballad that became a cute lil AC hit from her Super Bowl performance and has had some good recurrent streams due to it being used on talent competitions and such. nothing to brag about necessarily but it was still successful for what it was and has maintained a presence on streaming and otherwise that shouldn’t be overlooked either.
