mokitsu Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Chemicals - Miss Lewis is kinda becoming the IT producer huh? His nu-disco shtick has become popular and for a good reason, most of his output is really good. This is cute and he sings well. Very breezy and summery Scream Drive Faster - The way B@g*ls made this a thing....... I hate it here. This is great though, if a bit faceless. We'll see how it stacks up. driver's license - Samson - She's so boring, it's a boring song and this title reminds me of the absolute worst person to ever roam this site. I hope he has a horrible day. Please Don't Touch - This is surprisingly cute. I really like the chord progression in this Pink + White - Yes Beyoncé yes #1 this song is just a rainbow and sunshine after a storm. So uplifting and positive. LOVE IT OctaHate - This top 50 CLASSIC.. it was my jam in 2015 :riri: Her voice is kinda annoying tho but this was MOMENT Regardless - This is very H&M-core. Very basic deep house moment. Pretty forgettable Save the Best for Last - There's a reason she was never sent... this is AWFUL Mago - I wrote about this in my best of (Link in bio) From this moment on - I AM SO BORED! This is garbage! Sail On - Not this filler from her album.... Umm there were much better songs to chose from :riri2: Motivation - My favorite Normani song!!!!! This was a cute pop moment, I can't make it not bop On & On - This veers a BITTTTTTTT on pretentious crystal energy vibes BUT it is a classic and I quite love it. You're welcome! Staryu Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 SG Lewis - Chemicals - I like the beat, the vocals not so much LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster - This isn't bad I guess, cute bop Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license - Overrated but it's not the WORST song here, I just don't connect with it, I'm gay, I don't drive Regina Spektor - Samson - I love Regina & I love songs with little stories, I know most will hate it tho Raye - Please Don’t Touch - Basic but cute bop Frank Ocean - Pink+White - Sexy king, very chill, lovely song, lucky Beyonce is uncredited Ryn Weaver - Octahate - I still really like this, didn't age badly at all Raye - Regardless - Not 2 Raye songs i-, idk which is more basic Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last - An actual classic from a gay icon, watch Ugly Betty **** GFRIEND - MAGO - A bop I guess Shania Twain - From This Moment On - Not one of my favorite Shania songs tbh :s Ryn Weaver - Sail On - The lessor Ryn song here, I don't even remember this filler Normani - Motivation - BOP bop bop Erykah Badu - On & On - I respect Erykah but never really got into her music, it's like listening to poetry

Auburn Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Spoiler SG Lewis - Chemicals this is very good LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster Idk how I already have plays for this lol but I do like it Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license shite Regina Spektor - Samson this is quite nice Raye - Please Don’t Touch very very excellent Frank Ocean - Pink+White boring Ryn Weaver - Octahate it’s pretty good Raye - Regardless big bop me thinks Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last absolute classic whew (very sorry if pandering to me gets you eliminated ily) GFRIEND - MAGO very very basic I fear Shania Twain - From This Moment On another classic (very sorry if pandering to me gets you eliminated ily [2]) Ryn Weaver - Sail On it’s okay, I kinda find her voice annoying here tbh Normani - Motivation this is such a dud I still can’t believe she released it, great video tho Erykah Badu - On & On yup yup yup yup Spoiler @Fruity @Rence @Sanguine @luckystrike @miguel @Noah @Lucky#17 @Tom Vercetti @Jay-Zicario @Psycho @Not Like The Movies @touya kinomoto @Rotunda @Staryu
Sanguine Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 SG Lewis - Chemicals: Not particularly interesting and it's too long but it has nice production LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster: Fun song, ASC classic Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license: :onika4: Regina Spektor - Samson: I enjoy her voice but her music isn't really for me. This isn't awful though Raye - Please Don’t Touch: I like it a lot, Love Me Again tho > Frank Ocean - Pink+White: Best song on the album Ryn Weaver - Octahate: Best song on the album [2] Raye - Regardless: Big bop Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last: See the Regina critique GFRIEND - MAGO: This is good but something has always bothered me about it? Idk. It'll get a solid rank still Shania Twain - From This Moment On: No thanks Ryn Weaver - Sail On: One of her best as well Normani - Motivation: Hm maybe middle of the road here? It's a pretty good song Erykah Badu - On & On: This is fine
clue Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Spoiler SG Lewis - Chemicals Very cute and Tame Impala'd. The baseline is great. Mega bop I fear. LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster Cute synthpop bop. Love the solo at the end. Olivia Rodrigo - Drivers License I've finally been forced to listen to this. Very bland and corny. Regina Spector - Samson Not a fan of her, but this a singer/songwriter classic, undeniably. YOU WERE MY SWEETEST DOWNFALLLLLLLLL. RAYE - Please Don't Touch Very H&M. No thank ya. Frank Ocean - Pink + White Not a fan of him, but this is absolutely beautiful. Ryn Weaver - OctaHate Classic. RAYE - Regardless Cuter than the other one. Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last A classic, but a LITTLE bit crusty and dated. GFRIEND - Mago BOP. Shania Twain - From This Moment On A classic, but VERY crusty and dated. Ryn Weaver - Sail On There's better on the album, idk why the title track wasn't sent. This is fine tho. Normani - Motivation What do you smoke where you'd send Normani's "Motivation" over Kelly Rowland's? Just wondering. Anyway, it's cute, but I got over this so fast. Erykah Badu - On & On Where do I begin? One of the most iconic R&B tracks ever. Neo-soul production that you can taste and feel. "On & On" isn't a song, it's a lifestyle. Psycho Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 SG Lewis - Chemicals: His sing with Robyn was really good, this bops too LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster: Her EP was really good, her voice kinda reminds me of F+TM Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license: I can't stand her Gen Z'd voice, this is just a basic Billie Eilish rehash tbh and I don't care for Billie so... Regina Spektor - Samson: It's giving Olivia but not as Gen Z'd Raye - Please Don’t Touch: Yaaaaas Frank Ocean - Pink+White: This is quite cute, sounds like a sunrise Ryn Weaver - Octahate: Her voice is kinda annoying at first, but it's a bop. Cute Bubbling Under hit Raye - Regardless: This song is so addictive, glad it's becoming a UK hit Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last: It's nice. GFRIEND - MAGO: WINNER!!! Shania Twain - From This Moment On: I like it but you could have sent MIFLAW or TDIMM or even YSTO Ryn Weaver - Sail On: Better than I expected tbh Normani - Motivation: It was a cute Check On It rehash / Ariana reject, I guess Erykah Badu - On & On: Meh
Navyofbadgals Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 SG Lewis - Chemicals my impact yeah the Hallucinate producer snapped on the production here. Vocals could be better but the production here is the main selling point and it's great. He's def one to watch LAUREL - Scream Drive Faster my impact (2) This is a big bop. Very nice pick Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license idk if this was the smartest choice considering it was to be expected that this was going to be polarizing. I like it personally. Very Lorde lite, the bridge is also great. Pretty decent stuff all around imo Regina Spektor - Samson Her voice is pretty but this.. didn't really interest me that much. Sending ballads are risky anyways cause they either have to be gut wrenching, have great production or just be classics, and Samson for me isn't any of those so I like it better than a few songs here for what it's worth Raye - Please Don’t Touch Yes it's more on the faceless side, but it's a very solid pop song in the end. Very enjoyable imo Frank Ocean - Pink+White Beautiful!! The background vocals from Bey makes this even better. Great lyrically as well. Great pick! Ryn Weaver - Octahate I don't.. hate this one? Her voice is rough but it works here at least. The production here kinda aged for me but overall it's not the worst thing here. Fine pick Raye - Regardless The only thing this song did for me was make the other Raye song seem less faceless Personally not the biggest fan, but it's in no way a bad song either. The production is decent, and there's worse Vanessa Williams - Save the Best for Last Not my thing at all. Very corny and dated. I guess certain audiences love it so maybe you have some chances but this is really not for me GFRIEND - MAGO this is surprisingly great The production on this is very early gaga-esque but good this time No complaints tbh Shania Twain - From This Moment On a very.. ehm.. odd choice? Why would you pick this out of all the Shania songs you could pick? Surely you don't think this would do better than MIFLAW or TDIMM ?? The song has the same issues as the Vanessa song, but this one feels even cornier and the featured artist here is very.. not needed. Not a great pick imo Ryn Weaver - Sail On Oh girl she was struggling here The production at least was cute but this was not cute vocally. On the verge of.. goat Normani - Motivation Perfectly.. adequate? Nothing mindblowing but it's a cute lil moment. Nothing I'd really go back to and yeah there was a better Motivation out there Erykah Badu - On & On Very nice and I appreciate the risk. It's a very soothing and pretty track. Nice pick! Rotunda Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 SG LEWIS - CHEMICALS I really like the vibe of this track. I'd probably like it more if someone else was singing it, but it's solid. LAUREL - SCREAM DRIVE FASTER This is a nice track, but I wish she had a little more emotion in her voice. OLIVIA RODRIGO - DRIVERS LICENSE Purr. @miguelfound in a fender bender. REGINA SPEKTOR - SAMSON A truly beautiful song with a haunting message. RAYE - PLEASE DON'T TOUCH There are some tweaks that I would make to this track if I was in the studio, but it's enjoyable. FRANK OCEAN - PINK + WHITE I've noticed that I can be pretty hot/cold with new school R&B. This song is solid, but it doesn't really stick with me. RYN WEAVER - OCTAHATE I think a good chunk of The Fool has held up better than this, but Octahate is still a bop, and the choice makes sense. RAYE - REGARDLESS This is the inferior RAYE song this round, but it's not a bad track. VANESSA WILLIAMS - SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST This song reminds me of when my grandma would take me with her to run errands and would turn on the radio. Grandma has taste though, cause this song made some points. GFRIEND - MAGO Wendy_williams_dancing.gif SHANIA TWAIN - FROM THIS MOMENT ON It's not bad, but very basic. RYN WEAVER - SAIL ON Still pretty good, but there were definitely a lot of better Ryn options. NORMANI - MOTIVATION Deserved to be a Top 10 hit idc idc. ERYKAH BADU - ON & ON No thank you, Hoteptress Erykah.
Lucky#17 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Spoiler SG Lewis — Chemicals The production’s lovely. The other components are nice but don’t do much for me. LAUREL — Scream Drive Faster The verses/pre-choruses were much stronger; the chorus drags things down a bit. Olivia Rodrigo — drivers license Finally hearing what the hype’s about & I could definitely see how the pre-teens/teens of today see her as their Lorde/Taylor equivalent. Song’s not for me much but she’s talented. Regina Spektor — Samson Lovely! RAYE — Please Don’t Touch The project’s titled well — it does have that bit of euphoric-Pop feel. I enjoyed it! Frank Ocean — Pink + White Very nice / easy listening. Needa stop procrastinating & go through his catalogue. Ryn Weaver — OctaHate Haven’t listened to this in ages, but it doesn’t feel like it! That chorus has always been an ace for me. RAYE & Rudimental — Regardless I prefer “Please Don’t Touch”, but this is still nice. Vanessa Williams — Save the Best for Last Vanessa’s still that woman - very cute choice for the nostalgia. GFRIEND — MAGO Definitely prefer this productional approach as opposed to those electro-bass-styled K-Pop tracks. Shania Twain — From This Moment On Shana’s voice is lovely but I could never get into her slower songs. Ryn Weaver — Sail On Couldn’t get into this one either. At least the ending bit is eventful. Normani — Motivation Love Mani & the song is cute so it’ll get a nice rank from me. Such a shame 6LACK was banned, Waves woulda been my #1. Erykah Badu — On & On Nice to finally hear this classic. Love everything about it, can definitely hear why it's a classic.
