Take Yourself Home :katie2: I prefer Easy a bit though

I listened to Lifetime and I think it was cute, need to hear it again

Blinding Lights of course, and Tonight I Was Your Boy is definitely a highlight from that messy album :dies:

I think I stopped with TYH and haven't gotten around to Easy but I will now if its better.

I can't unhear this now :deadbanana: But glad you listed STFU! It got massive unwarranted hate when it first dropped.

Disclosure, Thundercat, Yves, The Weeknd, Victoria :clap3: You wasn't feeling After Hours?

It gave me Triple H or someone forreal, sorry :rip:

Spoiler: The Weeknd has another track that has made my top forty. After Hours was  pretty forgettable for me, it's been hard to really capture me album wise with most artists recently.

50. Harry Styles, “Golden”

This just sounds like it sits right there in the middle with some of the indie pop greats of the mid-2000s.

49. Grimes, “Delete Forever”

Not what we have gotten used to hearing from Grimes. This is more dark, profound and the most hopeless song you’ll ever hear but somehow its still quite a jam.

48. Rina Sawayama, “Comme Des Garçons (Like the Boys)/Brabo Remix”

I had to grow into liking the original, the first time I’ve heard this track was a dance remix which I think is worth acknowledgement. But I can also appreciate the simplicity of the original.

47. Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats, “DIET_”

Denzel Curry was one of my favorite rappers of 2019 and I can almost say the same for 2020. He annihilates this animated beat and that DMX homage was something clever!

46. Disclosure, “Lavender (feat. Channel Tres)”

You can feel every beat and instrumental hit you with a sharp tick and then Channel Tres just soothes you, bringing you back down from your high off these synths.

45. Christine and the Queens, “I disappear in your arms”

A bop something out of the early 90s.

44. Victoria Monet, “Moment”

Can we just say Victoria snagged the sexiest man and baby daddy alive, but also, this is the sexiest music video and song of the year. “Moment” is mesmerizing.

43. Roddy Ricch, “High Fashion (feat. Mustard)”

What a surprise follow-up to one of the biggest records of the year, Roddy Ricch and Mustard are an undeniable duo and Roddy has proven to have an ear for Top 40 R&B. This is one of the finest trap love songs yet (if any exist).

42. Mulatto, “In n Out (feat. City Girls)”

It’s the production and chorus for me. Caresha bitch, we dragged your squeaky ass voice and your weak raps, but you did great here! Carried, even.

41. Ariana Grande, “34+35”

Cause “Positions” was flimsy AF.

Golden :smitten: Comme Des Garçons is a bop! idk the remix tho

Moment is stunning. 34+35 :katie2:

Christine :smitten:

I think that was my second favorite in the EP after the Caroline track.

Golden is really cute!

I think the general consensus is that Easy is better, although I know a few people who think differently :eli:

You should check the EP though if you like Troye, it's a quick listen and only 10/10 is really a skip.

Delete Forever is another bop from Grimes. :jamming:

40. Doja Cat, “Like That (feat. Gucci Mane)”

Doja has found her lane. Yes, similarly to Nicki with the sing-rap, but Doj is gentler, less animated, more smother. This is sexy. Gucci Mane adds absolutely nothing to this track by the way.

39. Charli XCX, “c2.0”

I love the distorted buildup and the way Charli just rides the beat when enters. Such a fun short song to put on repeat.

38. Megan Thee Stallion, “Body”

I had my concerns, I am sure many did, but “Body” became addictive. Megan is aware of her gifts, her assets, her impact, and the business that is called “Tik Tok.” This just made sense. She just gets it! Aside from this being a song made for the virtual clubs, she’s got some bars.

37. 070 Shake, “Guilt Conscience”

I called it, at least the Tame Impala vibes in some of the instrumentation and atmosphere of this track. That’s what drew me in. It made sense that Kevin would hop on to do a mix. She is a ****-girl, a hypocrite of all sorts but you can’t help but to fall for the chorus and production slaps.

36. Soccer Mommy, “Circle the Drain”

This is fuzzy '90s alt-rock and glistening 2000s pop.

35. Miley Cyrus, “Midnight Sky”

What in the Stevie Nicks’ **** of an anthem, don’t count Ashley O out.

34. Lauv, “Modern Loneliness”

If you would have caught me 4-5 months ago this would have probably been my top song of the year. The lyrics/chorus should not have hit the way it did during quarantine, as cliché as this song is.

33. Jhene Aiko, “P*$$Y Fairy (OTW)”

This is a Sexual-spiritual lullaby. Makes me feel like I have a man I can log off to from my work calls and just worship. Then I snap into reality and realize I ain’t sh*t.

32. Dua Lipa, “Don’t Start Now”

This got cancelled out due to the other iconic singles that came after. Crazy. Still pop perfection.

31. Kali Uchis, “¡aquí yo mando! (feat. Rico Nasty)”

This that empanadas fresh out of the oil pan type of grease. This goes hard, great collaboration I never thought would work.

Rina, Disclosure, Christine, Victoria, Ari, Doja, 070, Miley, Jhene, Dua, Kali whew :flame:

My fave might be Moment I fear :monkey:

Also your aqui yo mando comment had me rolling  I don't love it (it actuallly made me scared for the album nn) but I'm here for a generic reggaeton bop every now and then.

30. Bree Runaway, “Gucci (feat. Maliibu Miitch)”

One of Azealia Banks’ sons (the other is Tkay Maidza), sis really fumbled another year in music. All jokes aside, cannot deny the singing schemes and tones are remarkably similar. Bree is super talented though and Maliibu Miitch is one unique female rapper to look out for.

29. Kehlani, “Water”

Basically, interlude like and it’s one of the hardest R&B tracks of the year with crazy replay value for me. Love when the girls embrace their sexuality.

28. Megan Thee Stallion, “Captain Hook”

The surefire delivery, the over the top-humorous punchlines and the flow changes. Real rap girl ****.

27. Roddy Ricch, “The Box”

One of those songs you hear all the time on the radio, in passing, or at the mall, you’re supposed to hate it because its overplayed… but it’s too good to act like you’re above it. Don’t be pretentious now.

26. Tame Impala, “Is it True”

Always funktified and keeping me going. Kevin is my king.

25. ROSALIA, “TKN (feat. Travis Scott)”

I was super amped to finally get something more upbeat with a hard hitting reggaeton beat, and instrumental switches. Mainstream Rosalia is just as strong as her contemporary flamingo music. Travis is great and continues to surprise us, always.

24. Jessy Lanza, “Lick in Heaven”

Jessy knows how to make a funky ass, wonky ass track. This is a joy ride.

23. Doja Cat, “Say So”

The solo version of course.

22. Jazmine Sullivan, “Lost One”

Come back and save traditional R&B then queen. One of the best vocal performances of the year. Goosebumps!

21. Joji, “Run”

Joji sings in his signature melancholic tone regarding a past relationship and finding out his ex is with someone new and it backed by a heavy atmospheric guitar solo.

Bree Runway! :clap3:

I really liked her on the XS remix and Damn Daniel of course.

The Nicki shade. :rip:

lick in heaven is gorgeous.... not my pick though, but it seems to be everyone elses.  am kinda sad that her album didn't make as many waves as it deserves this year.

i preferred the other jazmine track to lost one, but um, isn't her new album coming in like a day? will be my first 2021 listen.
