Both of Carlie's EPs are great, excited for more from her. Love your 4 faves from those. I'll come back and explore some of these later because I see a ton of POP in the genres oh wow, i wonder if that's why she ended up on some bigger streaming playlists are you talking about jackie onassis or the newer one? lol. bc the former is one i've had on replay but yesss, hope you like some if you do check them out On 12/23/2020 at 2:58 PM, ARTPØP said: Remi Wolf v cute tracks. was a nice discovery 5 hours ago, Lazuli said: i liked dionne but i didn't listen to the ep oop. if you ever have time, it's worth checking out
kiiwii Posted December 24, 2020 Author Posted December 24, 2020 (edited) #15 - #6 COIN – Indigo Violet I gave this a shot after liking a few songs from their album they released this year. I enjoyed this more than the album, and I’m sure it being just 4 tracks made it easier to digest. Favorites: “Sort It Out”, “You Are the Traffic” Becky and the Birds – Trasslig This EP certainly could have done without the interludes, they don’t really add much imo. But other than that, the songs are pretty soothing and interesting. Favorites: “Wondering”, “Paris” XYLØ – The Ganglands of My Heart Where is the album? We need the damn album! Afaik, she’s put out nothing but EPs, and I’m intrigued to hear a fuller body of work from her already. Favorites: “American Sadness”, “Masterpiece” Nasty Cherry – Season 2 I like this group a lot. Glitchy and nostalgic music made for a solid EP Favorites: “I Am King”, “Better Run” Future Jr. – I Think You’ll Find Easy to listen to synth tracks. They are a bit generic if I’m being honest, but I found myself coming back to them often. Favorites: “Back to You”, “Rewind” Valley – sucks to see you doing better Recommended to me by a friend, and I was pleasantly surprised with it given his usual lack of taste Favorites: “nevermind”, “BE THE ONE” Troye Sivan – In A Dream I remember my reaction of this being so… mild. I found the sound of it all strange, but that changed with time. The title track is just so damn good too. Favorites: “Easy”, “IN A DREAM” Alex Porat – bad at breakups This is so cute honestly. Relationships? Idk them. Favorites: “forgot to forgive”, “only hanging out cause i’m lonely” mxmtoon – dawn This is the first EP she released this year. I actually liked this one a lot more, since I found the songs on this to be a lot more upbeat. Favorites: “fever dream”, “lessons” Katzù Oso – Colour A synth heavy EP with some Spanish sprinkled into the mix. Pretty dreamy and nostalgic. Favorites: “Retail Therapy”, “kiss u better” Edited December 24, 2020 by kiiwii
Remmy Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Pretty sure I've peeked at a mxmtoon song or 2 before but if that's the case, they didn't stick with me XYLØ is cute but TGoMH might be her weakest EP so far. COIN Dreamland was easily superior for me, still a nice EP though. It's cool that there's even more on the way, too! IN A DREAM yuuup Troye never fails to slay You Are the Traffic, Easy, IN A DREAM in your faves
TheWayWeWere Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 In a Dream is amazing, dreamy indeed his best project to date
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 In a Dream made it into the list I didn't know XYLØ released new EP this year Let me listen real quick dd

potent Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 In a Dream is the one I know and like. Title track is such a bop Let me give COIN a listen though, I like a few of their songs
kiiwii Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 i wanted to finish this before the new year, but that won't be happening idk why i'm finding it so difficult to post these updates nnn Spoiler On 12/24/2020 at 5:26 PM, Remmy said: Pretty sure I've peeked at a mxmtoon song or 2 before but if that's the case, they didn't stick with me XYLØ is cute but TGoMH might be her weakest EP so far. kiiwii Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 #5 - #1 [5] Aseul – Slow Dance Veryyy dreamy and nostalgic. These songs just emit a warm and cozy glow. Favorites: “2 Weeks”, “Joke” [4] Kailee Morgue – Here In Your Bedroom Pop with a little bit of punk and some synths made for a very fun EP. Favorites: “Still”, “Dying To Live” [3] Tei Shi – Die 4 Ur Love I came across her with her album “La Linda”, which I only liked a few songs from. I listened to this with lowered expectations, but these songs were really good! I definitely preferred this sound from her more. Favorites: “Disappear”, “Ok Crazy” [2] Ralph – Flashbacks & Fantasies A favorite artist discovery I made back in ’18 with her album “A Good Girl”. This EP is very fun with some bops sprinkled in. She also has some singles released after this which are just as good! Favorites: “Gravity”, “Last Time” [1] Magdalena Bay – A Little Rhythm and a Wicked Feeling Really strong and infections tunes from start to finish. This duo just does pop so well. Favorites: “How to Get Physical”, “Good Intentions”
kiiwii Posted December 30, 2020 Author Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) #45 - #36 [45] Tinashe – Songs for You This is actually pretty cute. But I listened to it for about a month after it was released and gradually dropped it once 2020 rolled around. Favorites: “Save Room for Us (feat. MAKJ)”, “Perfect Crime”, “Cash Race” [44] Harry Styles – Fine Line This album really didn’t do much for me. Aside from the big singles, I don’t really come back to many of the other tracks. Favorites: “Watermelon Sugar”, “Adore You”, “Lights Up” [43] The Weeknd – After Hours Another album where basically only the singles really hooked me, and not much else. Favorites: “Blinding Lights”, “In Your Eyes”, “Save Your Tears” [42] 5 Seconds of Summer – CALM Favorites: “Old Me”, “Easier”, “Teeth” [41] BLACKSTARKIDS – Whatever, Man I hardly had much time to listen to this since it was put out a week before my cut-off for releases. I think this would have charted higher if given more time. Favorites: “Acting Normal”, “Cigarettes”, “Camp Whatever” [40] lovelytheband – conversations with myself about you Favorites: “waste”, “buzz cut”, “drive” [39] Taylor Swift – folklore I know this album was praised a whole bunch, and I did enjoy it for the most part, but I still left out a handful of songs when I was choosing to add them to my library. I need to revisit this in its entirety again. Favorites: “this is me trying”, “invisible string”, “betty” [38] Ellie Goulding – Brightest Blue I know this got some flak for being reductive and a step down from her previous work, but this was the first album of her’s I’ve listened to and I found it quite enjoyable. The collabs are also a guilty pleasure. Favorites: “How Deep Is Too Deep”, “Tides”, “Brightest Blue” [37] Slow Pulp – Moveys Favorites: “Idaho”, “At It Again”, Falling Apart” [36] Niall Horan – Heartbreak Weather Yes, I did enjoy Niall’s album more than Harry’s There’s some pretty fun tracks on here, it was a decent listen. Favorites: “Small Talk”, “Arms Of A Stranger”, “Cross Your Mind” Edited December 30, 2020 by kiiwii
potent Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Fine Line caught my attention on Harry, I pretty much ignored his debut era tbh. Some of the songs are kinda cheesy though so I can understand why it wasn't placed higher. AH I really liked for the most part, a couple songs I can't really get into though Folklore had some cute songs. I really liked This is Me Trying too Tides and Brightest Blue (song)
Into The Void Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Fine Line and Folklore deserve better Happy to see Heartbreak Weather Niall is under rated here brightest blue, CALM, Songs 4 U
D/X Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Although I don't listen to full albums, at least the singles from Styles, Weeknd and Taylor were very good.
Remmy Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 EPs~ Oh, well I have nothing to research here! Kailee and RALPH are already on my list and I've heard #3 and #1 It seems like everyone has negative feelings towads La Linda but I preferred it over D4UL. It's a good EP but the title track and Ok crazy carry things quite a bit. Magdalena Bay taking the crown, very well deserved One of my favorite discoveries of the year & I bought their shirt a week after going through their material because I knew I'd continue to love them || Albums~ Hmm at this bottom 4 being this low Well 5SOS is understandable since it's not their best release. Brightest Blue is good but if you haven't heard Delirium yet, it's OVERFLOWING with pop bops! Although her early fans shade it all the time. Heartbreak Weather is a good time, Niall deserves some more appreciation... that being said, Harry Styles/Fine Line/Flicker all outsold folklore Perfect Crime, Cash Race, Adore You, Lights Up, Blinding Lights, In Your Eyes, Easier, Teeth, this is me trying, betty, HDITD, Tides, Small Talk, Arms of a Stranger in your faves
Moonlightbae Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Songs For You, Fine Line, After Hours, Folklore, Brightest Blue and Heartbreak Weather taste came thru so far (even tho they seem to low, but we'll see) x
Mr. Loco Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 After hours & folklore are really great albums! They deserved better spots
