ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 15, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 15, 2020 dua youre right the album cuts were better, but then again levitating/hallucinate eventually became singles. not like they were hits in america tho
ARTPØP Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 Levitating, Supalonely, Heather, Diamonds all good songs, sad they didn't make your list Break My Heart Therefore I Am Love Brightest Blue

Had no idea that Jason Mraz had released something new this year. I can't believe his new music still sounds uplifting after what's happened this year.

Mr. Duff Posted December 16, 2020 Author Posted December 16, 2020 The banner is not working anymore but let's continue!!! Recap: Top 100 Singles: 100. RAC - Never Let You Go (featuring Matthew Koma and Hilary Duff) 99. Sasha Sloan - Lie 98. Juice WRLD & marshmello - Come & Go 97. JoJo - What U Need 96. For KING & COUNTRY - Together (featuring Kirk Franklin and Tori Kelly) 95. The 1975 - If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know) 94. Billie Eilish - Therefore I Am 93. Megan Thee Stallion - Savage Remix (featuring Beyonce) 92. Marshmello & Imanbek - Too Much (featuring Usher) 91. Dua Lipa - Break My Heart Top 30 Albums: 30. Selena Gomez - Rare 29. Rhys Lewis - Things I Chose to Remember 28. Jason Mraz - Look for the Good 27. Ellie Goulding - Brightest Blue Top 100 Favorite Singles of 2020 90. Topic, A7S - Breaking Me The first time I heard this, it was instant. I just love the hard beat and it goes well with the vocals. It has been a staple in my workout playlist since. I wish this could have been a huge hit, it's so much better than that Roses EDM song that was huge. 89. 24KGoldn, iann dior - Mood I admit I wasn't really in love when I first heard of this, but the moment this song got bigger and bigger is also when I got addicted to it. It's a harmless fun song which is sometimes what we need in a busy day. 88. Why Don't We - Fallin' (Adrenaline) This song is somehow the band's attempt to mimic 5 Seconds of Summer because I can totally see this song being performed by 5SOS. It's really good though, and I love these kind of songs. However, I felt like the band lost some authenticity, or maybe it's just me. I still prefer their 8 Letters sound. But hey, bands evolve so maybe good things will come from here. 87. Ellie Goulding - Power A return to form, I think Ellie releasing this song is a good idea - it still sounds mainstream but also veins in her Halcyon days. I am also impressed with the lyrics, it's just outright powerful I think. 86. Lauv - Love Like That Lauv's take on songs is really effective for me - there's just something soothing when he delivers a song. I can also relate to the lyrics so much, maybe that's why I am so affected by the song. Also a great song to play while cruising on my bike. Top 30 Favorite Albums of 2020 26. Ariana Grande - Positions Ariana's latest effort is not so impressive in my opinion, but it's still a good listen from start to finish. Not many albums released this year are great (or maybe I just haven't listened to a lot) and that includes a letdown from Ariana. However, I think the album has deep gems like POV and Off the Table but the singles somehow lacked something. I still enjoy Positions (song) but 34 + 35 is crappy and a poor try to sex up her image, in my opinion. Favorite tracks: Off the Table, POV, Obvious, West Side 25. Trevor Daniel - Nicotine So Trevor's a new name this year, and he's only recognized through the Falling track which soared early this year. However, I think this man is being slept on because his album is pretty good, compared to other releases this year. He has the ability to make you interested in an uninteresting melody, because I honestly find most melodies in this album non-existent. But I learned to like them, I don't know how to explain it. Favorite tracks: Past Life, All of That, Nicotine, Disaster
potent Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Power is a great song Other than that most of this set I don't know or it's just okay tbh. Trevor Daniel was just... so easy to ignore despite having one of the biggest pop hits of the year like Falling honestly felt like such a non event
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 17, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 17, 2020 Quote Is it? Given the flack Ellie got for the singles released, I think the album is actually pretty underrated. Guess we have different perspective on it, and that's okay. My bad, I meant in the Best Of section in general. And she deserved the hate for the singles Ironically, power is the best here positions was okay
Tom Vercetti Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Another West Side liker is appreciated. Wish more songs on positions was of that nature.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Power making another list Ellie redeems so much with new album Positions is like honey for ears

Mr. Duff Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 Woops, the banner works again! The recap section is getting longer, can anybody teach me how to do the hide and show thing? Recap: Top 100 Singles: 100. RAC - Never Let You Go (featuring Matthew Koma and Hilary Duff) 99. Sasha Sloan - Lie 98. Juice WRLD & marshmello - Come & Go 97. JoJo - What U Need 96. Rhys Lewis - Things I Chose to Remember 28. Jason Mraz - Look for the Good 27. Ellie Goulding - Brightest Blue 26. Ariana Grande - Positions 25. Trevor Daniel - Nicotine Top 30 Favorite Albums of 2020 24. Hayley Williams - Petals for Armor Hayley's first album as a solo artist came upon us in 2020, and she did not disappoint! I am still a sucker for her Riot! and Brand New Eyes sound from Paramore but this album is definitely a mature showing from her. Glad this album was critically met too - just wished she have received some Grammy nominations for it. Favorite tracks: Dead Horse, Simmer, Over Yet, Crystal Clear 23. JoJo - Good to Know JoJo definitely has one of the best voices from this generation - and this album showed that. I love that she keeps on churning this RnB train and it works for her vocals, and this sound is really her identity now. I wish she released the Lonely Hearts remix with Demi as a single because that is one hot track and I think it could have done wonders on radio. Favorite tracks: Lonely Hearts (Remix), Comeback, Think About You, In Your Room Top 100 Favorite Singles of 2020 85. Sam Hunt - Hard to Forget Sam is definitely one of my favorite country artists, like ever. The way he delivers a song is so smooth and cool. The only setback for me with this song is the intro, but other than that, I enjoy this song so much. 84. Justin Bieber - Yummy No matter how many people hate this, I still like it. Yes it's pretty basic, but it's addictive in my opinion, kinda like how Mood is. Sometimes people just hate the artist because there are so many hits out there that are worse than Yummy, but because Bieber sang this, it's getting a lot of hate. 83. Trevor Daniel - Past Life I actually prefer the solo version, but the Selena version isn't that bad. It just took away the level of how it captures audience more when it's just Trevor all the way. And compared to Falling, I wish this became his hit. I know it's also pretty basic, but the chorus is just so good, the melody is nice. 82. Ava Max - Kings and Queens I am honestly not a fan of this song when it first came out but when I heard it in The Voice Germany, I instantly got hooked with it. It's so good and captures her charm the same with Sweet But Psycho and So Am I from the previous years. 81. Hot Chelle Rae - Stay I really missed this band because their album Whatever is such a fun pop record from a band that doesn't really take themselves that seriously. And with this song, they did it again with an emotional song but the music video is so hilarious (and definitely reducing the emotion of the song). But seriously, just listen to the song without the video, it's a great song.
prézli Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 YUMMY??????????????????????????????????????????????????
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I like Kings & Queens. Just heard it last weekend.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Good to Know praise the album is amazing, I'm so glad she's doing what she wants to do musically now
Ewan Chaos Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Petals For Armor so good yup yup yup. Yeah I would have loved her to get some of the Rock noms that Phoebe ended up getting, but ah well.
