I look at as if Justin Bieber released a song entirely in Spanish and it broke all these records despite his native language being English ?

Not, when Justin only sings the 1st verse and mumbles the last chorus :rip:

Two top 5 hits already, I just can't believe how HUGE he has become :jonny4:

The fact that none of those songs needed pop features/hooks either.  He can do him and still succeed.

Omg sales really do mean nothing now. :rip:

I think it's time for me to officially stop checking iTunes tbh. :rip:

Well... it would have debuted even lower with less sales. :rip:

They matter but it's clear that without streaming or radio, you can't do anything.

According to wiki, Rolling in the Deep hit no1 in May 2011 and SFTTR in Feb 2012. What kinda slayage was this!! :jonny3:

Also, 21 actually continued to top the billboard chart until March 2012 and then hit no1 again in June 2012, after almost 1.5 year of release. Truly the album of the decade. :jonny4:

The slayage was too much :jonny:

21 is definitely in a league of its own.

A spanish song crossing over, a rapper at the #1, few pop girls slaying the charts, british and r&b/hip-hop invasion...

I think we're back to the 2000s where's the new Crazy in Love :-*

Despacito to snatch Digital #1 next week?

Very strong on Youtube too...#1 combined.

Don't be so sure... "That's What I Like" has 4 versions inside the top 1500... It could be close.

Well not really.

it had an edge in sales.  It had a big lead in streams, it's not like Ed had no streams. Eds streams are still near the top.

but it was way behind in AirPlay, way behind.

all you need to do to chart high is get streams. Your AirPlay doesn't matter, and sales barely.

It boils down to about 30 million streams is better than 160m AirPlay.  Which is ridiculous.

definitely not balanced.

1 million sales being better than 200 million AI is also ridiculous? Just curious.

1 million AI = 1k sales = 150k streams seems fair to me.

Sweetie Miley is. Ariana is not bigger. And the excuse "talented" isn't relevant when you are talking about charts!! And what's wrong with entering after 11 weeks when your fave can't enter in 4 years now. We love a queen with longevity xo
