BlackoutZone Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Oh yeah I definitely think SDPP is more of a performance song! Love Again is brilliant, Netflix recently dropped a Song Exploder episode with Dua and other composers about the creation process of Love Again, very fun thing!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Love Again one of the standouts from FN
Mr. Loco Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Love again is one of the best songs from FN! I don't know why it wasn't made a single tbh

I had chills through the whole thing, I am such a sucker for Dua. 51 minutes ago, TheWayWeWere said: Love Again one of the standouts from FN 31 minutes ago, Mr. Loco said: Love again is one of the best songs from FN! geodancefreak Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 4. Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande - Rain On Me I feel like this was the biggest event in pop music this year, but also the one with the most conflicting reviews/opinions. I am not really a fan of Ariana, but I feel she was essential in the song and added so much to it. This duo managed to serve one of the best feel-good anthems I can remember, that carries the most relevant message for the year we went through: no matter how bad things are going, I will keep fighting and working on my happiness. I could spend another paragraph writing about how relevant this has been to my life, but I will try to stay in topic. Long story short, this song was there for me when I felt like ****, and I love it so so much.
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 19, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 19, 2020 i liked rain on me. i remember all the drama of it on release and people dancing and breaking quarantine to dance to it a bop
Ewan Chaos Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I fell a little out of love with Love Again since FN came out; used to be in my top 3 now not so much. It's still a fantastic song though. RAIN. (raiaianin) ON. (on may!) ME. (rain on meeeEEEEEEEEE) RAYN ON ME.

geodancefreak Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 3. Kylie Minogue - Say Something A perfect example of how Kylie is capable of giving you a weird feeling of mixed bliss and melancholy through her music. A true subgalactic experience. The lyric "love is love, it never ends, can we all be as one again?" touches me so deeply every time I listen to the song. I can't wait to hear this live, hopefully soon.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 ROM is ****ing pop classic Say Something is a grower I love the last chorus
dreamofyou Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 love again and say something, we love the disco bops
Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Love Again is cute but has never ever been a FN standout for me. #5 is a bit high for ha Rain On Me Yup it was the biggest pop music event of the year for sure, as it deserves to be!
potent Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Love Again is Dua's best song tbh ROM a great choice, I almost thought it wouldn't be placed too high with Gaga's album getting (deservedly) panned but I do love this song Say Something whew and your description is perfect too, it just gives me such a euphoric feeling but also feeling of longing
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Rain On Me and Say Something are both bops. Top 4 is looking good so far.

Really? For me, it has always been a huge standout. I mean, we already knew from the single releases she can do a huge bop, but this one is also emotional, lyrical, more melodic. I absolutely adore it. geodancefreak Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 (edited) 2. Lady Gaga - 911 The most "Gaga" song on Chromatica in my opinion. I love everything about it: the production, the vocal effects, the lyrics (pure poetry). Dark, haunting, but also empowering. I hate seeing it being paid dust by GP, ATRLers and stans. Can any of you guess what's the #1? Edited December 20, 2020 by geodancefreak

Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 911 yup! Used to be a contender for my favorite from Chromatica but it did age a tiiiny bit and now it's sitting at #3 for my ranking. Definitely agree with it being the most Gaga song on the album, it reminds me of several previous eras. Quote Really? For me, it has always been a huge standout. I mean, we already knew from the single releases she can do a huge bop, but this one is also emotional, lyrical, more melodic. I absolutely adore it. It doesn't really hit me sonically, especially since it's placed behind so many big bops.

geodancefreak Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 1. Dua Lipa - Physical Not just the best song this year, but actually one of the best pop songs of the past few years in my opinion. This chorus hits you like a truck, and just when you think that's it, the bridge ****ing kills. I have been playing this diamond for 11 months non stop and I still can't get enough. Thank you all! Stay tuned for my favorite albums and favorite videos of the year!
Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 YUP an amazing #1 choice Should be in everyone's top 10 at an absolute minimum. The best song from FN as well. Great singles list overall!
