      10. Taylor Swift - folklore

I mean, this isn’t my favorite type of music but I can definitely acknowledge that it’s objectively a great album. The first half is pretty strong but the last bunch of songs really lag and starts to sound the same. Again, it’s not really for me, but I like to play it as background music when I study

9. Halsey - Manic
I love Ms. Halsey, but I was really expecting more from this album. I was hoping it would be more generic like Eastside/Die For Me/Without Me  I mean there are some really good songs on here and you can tell it’s very personal to her and “artistic” (?), but the cheesy voice notes, interludes...etc and the 929 song just weren’t IT for me.

8. Ariana Grande - positions
I stan Ariana, but this was definitely underwhelming after the flaw-free Thank U Next. I like that she went more R&B, but I was hoping it would be more R&B like SZA/Summer Walker music. Anyways, there are some really good tracks on this some have aged already . I probably like this more than most people and is biased since I usually love all her albums

7. Roddy Ricch - Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial
Probably my favorite breakout artist of 2020  I wasn’t too fond of his smash “The Box”, but this album is seriously much better than that  It’s melancholic rap with great beats, hooks and lyrics. I cannot wait for his next project.

6. Harry Styles - Fine Line

Talk about breaking out in your 2nd era I liked his debut album but this is on a whole other level. He made music that’s unique to him, but still catchy and good enough to be hit after hit  The title track is one of the most beautiful songs

      5. Lady Gaga - Chromatica

I know the nostalgia of Gaga finally making her return to pop music definitely came into play here and I don’t care  She served a cohesive album this time around with a modern flare of the sound that made her famous. I had this on RIHPEAT throughout the year and still love it  But I could take my stan goggles off and admit that some of the songs have aged already. For all of those who still complain that it’s “generic”, you’re gonna miss this sound when she goes back to that boring HAC/AC sound for LG7

4. Miley Cyrus - Plastic Hearts

Never would I have ever imagined that Miley F****** Cyrus would release one of the best albums of the year  Especially after the horrible YN + DP. This is by far her best album ever BANGERZ was her best album before this  She has officially found her sound, and her voice has never sounded better. Tracks 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 has to be the hardest punch after punch like ever  She better keep this sound going forward.

3. Madeon - Good Faith

This album is seriously flaw-free, cohesive and Grammy nominated . It’s such a shame how underrated he is. If you’ve never listened to Madeon’s solo stuff before, don’t worry, it is nothing like the crap he gave Gaga nnn. I don’t even know how to describe this masterpiece. It’s like synth/dream pop or progressive house. It’s not the usual Guetta/Zedd generic EDM sh*t. Oh and I know this came out in 2019 but I don’t care it’s still making my list

2. Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia

I am no Dua stan but I can definitely admit she released probably the best female album of 2020 and this album has still not aged at all for me   Every song on here is such a smash and can be a singleminus the terrible BWBB.  The production on here is just so so good and it says so much that even the album outtakes (TKOW & IIAM  are better than some pop girl’s leads). The hype & success is 100% deserved and this will be a defining album of 2020

1. The Weeknd - After Hours

I’m sure most people saw this coming but it’s true it’s true. This is a cohesive masterpiece which perfectly combines his R&B sound as well as his modern pop sound. Nothing feels out of place and I seriously can’t even nit pick one thing about this. I sort of wish Blinding Lights wasn’t the biggest song in recent memory so that the other singles stood a chance. There’s really nothing else to say as the music from this album seriously speaks for itself

I think my unholy trinity is BWBB, FN, and maybe GIB? The latter I don't mind that much but the first two are almost irredeemably bad and I hate how they bookend the standard edition of the album lol.

      10. Ellie Goulding - Brightest Blue

This album is just not for me. I know what she was trying to do with going back to her “experimental” sound that stans have been begging for. Unfortunately, it just does not work this time around. I found the songs overall boring. I would’ve much rather have preferred more BOPS like “Hate Me” & “Slow Grenade”

9. Sam Smith  - Love Goes

Also I despise when artists just tack on all the previous singles to the end of the album without any thought at all of incorporating them into the Tracklist

8. Little Mix - Confetti

Another step in the wrong direction for Little Hits. I don’t know what happened to them but I used to love their music especially Get Weird & Glory Days   The songs on here are just ordinary pop songs that any UK Pop Girl can do. I remember one song sounding like Anne Marie, another being a Sia knock off...besides for the Title Track & Sweet Melody, I don’t plan to even hear this again

7. Katy Perry - Smile

Perhaps an even bigger clown than the album cover was me for thinking this would top PRISM as her best album  Let me set one thing straight: Never Really Over & Harleys In Hawaii are immaculate 10/10 pop songs so I really had high hopes for this album. And instead, we got the worst album of her career. The songs on this are either cheesy, dated, boring pop songs or Kelly Clarkson/P!nk soccer mom rejects. The biggest travesty of all is that her best single ever, NRO, will forever be attached to this disgusting album cover

6. Selena Gomez - Rare

She released LYTLM & LAHN first which were both good, but every thing that followed them got worse and worse. There is nothing interesting at all about this bland bore-fest of an album. Oh, this also contains “FUN”, the worst  track I ever heard in my entire life and I am not even exaggerating.
