Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) Okay. My laptop just got repair and with my sh*tty graphics design skills, let me celebrate another year wasted away on atrl dot net with this.... Let's do this. Hello. I'm sure we'll all agree. It's been a hard year. But it doesn't stop me to enjoy entertainment to keep me sane most of time. This year had so many great albums and singles from talented artists. Every. Goddamn. Artists. except Rihanna released music this year. So i decided to post my own "Best of" lists. Just like last year, i'm going to do lists of best albums/ep & singles that has been released from December 1st 2019 - November 30th 2020. There are so many great album tracks released this year, but i decided to list only singles to keep it a little bit shorter. The lists including: 1. Top 120 singles of 2020 2. Top 120 albums & EPs of 2020 3. Top 120 singles of the 90s Yes, i'll be doing the 90s decade after i'm done with this year's lists. But first, i'll be posting Honorable Mentions before i get in the main list tomorrow Edited January 13, 2021 by Mr. Blue_Shirt

Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 Mamacita - Black Eyed Peas, Ozuna and J. Rey Soul from album Translation (April 10, 2020) Quote The beat is meh and It's really repetitive but some parts are really catchy. Maybe because they sampled La Isla Bonita, that's why I'm bopping to this but oh well. At least miss Ciccone getting some coins from this. Spotify Apple Music Youtube Gaslighter - The Chicks from album Gaslighter (March 4, 2020) Quote This is pretty good song but it's not enough for their comeback single. The vocal processing holds this back from being a great song but it still catchy. I'm just so glad that they cameback. Spotify Apple Music Youtube 살짝 설렜어 (Nonstop) - 오마이걸 [Oh My Girl] from album Nonstop (April 27, 2020) Quote I’ve had a soft spot for Oh My Girl since “Closer” cause that is one of the besr songs of 2015 (in my book). Even though the trend of tropical summer anthem is outdated for kpop at least for me, but I can't help but like this especially the hook is really catchy. But this song is obviously not their best but at least they scored their biggest hit to date. Spotify Apple Music Youtube Rain on Me - Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande from album Chromatica (May 22, 2020) Quote The biggest pop stars of last decade coming together to make the BIG pop anthem. It's not great but it's bad either. But in the end, it did it's job for making fun pop music. Both Gaga and Ariana's vocals compliment each other so well and the synthwork is also on point. Spotify Apple Music Youtube Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix) - Miley Cyrus from album Plastic Hearts (November 6, 2020) Quote Hearing Stevie Nicks' vocals in autotuned feels really weird to me. And this sounds like a YouTube mashup that get in my recommendation few months later and I decided to listen to it at 3AM on a thursday because i can't sleep. But overall, I dig it and this is a good mash-up. Spotify Apple Music Youtube
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 My Turn - Lil Baby (February 28, 2020) Quote I listen to this album out of curiosity and this is actually just an ok record. There’s 20 tracks (not including deluxe) and most of them are around 3 minute, so it's easy to listen to. I must say that this album has a lot of fillers but the middle part of the album is the stand out from me. Top 3: Forever, Sum 2 Prove, Emotionally Scarred Spotify Apple Music Youtube Smile - Katy Perry (August 28, 2020) Quote Compare to her previous album, this album is definitely an improvement when it comes to cohesiveness, in my opinion. But it's not a masterpiece either. Most of the album tracks are just fun pop songs that I mostly forgot by the time I finish it. Top 3: Never Really Over, Cry About It Later & Teary Eyes. Spotify Apple Music Youtube Brightest Blue - Ellie Goulding (July 17, 2020) Quote This is her first album in five years and droplet singles that she include on the "side B' of this album. I really prefer the "Side A" of the album cause it's kinda reminds me of the sound that I really like from her from the previous albums and it holds pretty well compare to the "Side B". Top 3: Power, Woman & Love I'm Given Spotify Apple Music Youtube Eternal Atake - Lil Uzi Vert (March 6, 2020) Quote The album is fine, I can listen to it when I'm in the good mood, but I can't help that the album has lot of fillers. But I can tell that he's having fun recorded this album.. At least. Top 3: P2, Celebration Station & Baby Pluto Spotify Apple Music Youtube Hotspot - Pet Shop Boys (January 24, 2020) Quote This album is definitely nostalgic. It pays a lot of homage to the synthpop of the 1980s. But it's not enough because the album is monotonous and cheap. It's like they parodying their own music. I'm mostly dissapointed about this because i really love their music, so when i listen to their new album i have a lot of expectation. But oh well, At least the instrumentals sounds good. Top 3: Dreamland, Will-o-the-wisp & Happy People. Spotify Apple Music Youtube

Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 120. Save The Day (with Ms. Lauryn Hill) - Mariah Carey from album The Rarities (August 21, 2020) Quote This is a decent song for an outtake material. And honestly, Fugees' sample really elevate the song even more. But I agree with some people said about this song, this should’ve definitely been kept in the vault. But it is a great MC30 gift for the fans regardless and i'm happy with it. Spotify Apple Music Youtube 119. You should be sad - Halsey from album Manic (January 10, 2020) Quote I really hate this with passion when the song first released. But at the time goes by, it hits me hard and i regulary listen to it ever since. I'd honestly prefer Halsey to take her music in more acoustic direction cause she sounds better especially on this track. Even though this is not the best pop-country crossover ever released, but the song is done it's job. Spotify Apple Music Youtube 118. Un día (One Day) - J Balvin, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny and Tainy from J Balvin's EP Summer Vacation (July 23, 2020) Quote This song is perfect for summer, a sad summer for a little more specific. Even though it's not a career-highlight for all artists involve but all of them go surprisingly well together in here. And even the flow from English to Spanish is seamless. It's cacthy song that you would listen to while looking at your hotel room window during rainy days. Spotify Apple Music Youtube 117. TKN - Rosalía and Travis Scott (May 28, 2020) Quote Another great Rosalía track, but not as iconic as Con Altura. Travis sounds unnecessary yet competent at the same time on this track, so maybe this final result was the best decision after all. Spotify Apple Music Youtube 116. The Prince - Madeon (August 14, 2020) Quote This is a killer track. "Good Faith" is one of my favorite album last year so I kinda pumped when he released new music this year. The song is kinda sounds like a darker version of his previous album. Even though it's blends in with the rest of the synthwave trend this year, but it still good regardless Spotify Apple Music Youtube
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 120. Wake Up, Sunshine - All Time Low (April 3, 2020) Quote This album marked as their return pop punk that people widely known them for after the failures of Last Young Renegade. The album is decent, I mean seeing Blackbear as a featured artist doesn't really excited me, so I guess they shattered my lower exceptation on this one? Maybe so. But overall, It's not a solid album in their discography but it's a nice record that people who love pop-punk and Pop Rock in general would instantly like. They also did a pretty good job with the line distribution in this album. There's some songs on it that I genuinely dislike and it kinda drag it down for me. But in the end i really enjoy it. I've listened to this numerous times this year, especially when i'm in a good mood. Top 3: Dreamlike, Fiesta & Daydream Spotify Apple Music Youtube 118. Love Goes - Sam Smith (October 30, 2020) Quote This album changes the problems that people have toward Sam as an artist. Their vocal delivery in this album holds up pretty well and has the emotion and rawness that i've been waiting for and they delivered in here, especially on ballads. The first half of the album is definitly the highlights of this album but the back-to-back ballads in the final 4 are such a bad decision in my opinion. It carries no momentum and i just want the album to end at that point because it gets tiring really fast. Top 3: Dance ('Till You Love Someone Else), Diamonds & Kids Again Spotify Apple Music Youtube 117. I Can Feel You Forgetting Me - Neon Trees (July 24, 2020) Quote This is the first album from Neon Trees in six years and this album showcases their maturity as the band with well-written, catchy songs about the topics such as loneliness and heartbreak that I related so much. Overall it's mostly solid album, with some great prduction that i could see this clicking with people that won’t take it too seriously. Top 3: Nights, Used to Like & Living Single Spotify Apple Music Youtube 116. Eternal Atake (Deluxe): LUV vs. the World 2 - Lil Uzi Vert (March 13, 2020) Quote Technically this is the deluxe version of his album Eternal Atake, but since it has more than 12 songs, I may as well just classified this as a new album nn Honestly, I really like this album more than the original one. Well it's not a masterpiece of course but the album brings the elements of him that I didn't hear as much in the OG album. The production & his vocals work really well for the majority this album. There are some songs that don't suit him really well but overall a solid project and i defenitly enjoy this more than i should have.
