Pink Matter Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Sorry for the delay y'all. Was busy all of Friday and Saturday. Gonna start songs up later today. Spoiler On 12/3/2020 at 4:19 PM, BlackoutZone said: Really glad you chose the title track from NFR, people usually choose the greatest, but NFR is so much better, one of her best songs Surprised with fallen alien, cause while striking after the album release it fell for me in the ranking in a long run, a lot from the album had better hold. Still an amazing song and album tho NFR is probably my favorite intro from Lana, and that's such a hard task to accomplish! And fallen alien still punches the way it did on first listen On 12/3/2020 at 4:44 PM, GreatestLoveofAll said: Ok but I love Lana's album! "How to disappear" gets me everytimeeee and i listened to Omar Apollo's latest album- what did you think of it? Stan a bit! Loved Omar's new album/EP/project/whatever he wants to call it. I can't wait for what he's got in store. On 12/3/2020 at 4:48 PM, Claw said: The Weeknd + Dua that's a real duo. NFR title track is truly amazing although I can't say DHL was my favorite between Frank's singles that year. And let me listen to this LB/Rae song. We love to see that back to back 80s pop/new wave excellence DHL is sooooo hypnotic. It's not even like it's that good but I just can't help listening to it. Pretty sure it accounts for over half my Frank plays this year On 12/3/2020 at 5:13 PM, Reinvention said: Ugh Tinashe and Lana LEGENDS. We love to see it! We sure do! They both lowkey came back with redemption albums. On 12/3/2020 at 5:52 PM, TRF. said: Lana, Tinashe and twigs being your top 3 AOTYs They kinda ate 2019 up, didn't they? On 12/3/2020 at 8:43 PM, K$Ellie said: Perfect Crime is SOOOOO good probably my fave tinashe song since... Aquarius? happy to see Magdalene so high and one of the best sings in the top 3 songs list Truly a crime at how much of a flop she is. That would've been a smasha in Riri's hands I fear. And only the best for Ms. twigs of course! On 12/3/2020 at 9:29 PM, Mr. Loco said: Blinding lights top 10 Don't start now A couple smashes yup yup On 12/3/2020 at 11:35 PM, jpow said: I've wanted to find new songs to listen to from fka twigs and Tinashe since I find their music hit or miss and I liked both the songs in your list Glad you did! You should try out holy terrain and home with you (twigs) and Save Room For Us and Story of Us (Tinashe). Methinks you might like those tracks On 12/3/2020 at 11:44 PM, Tom Vercetti said: Knew greatness would come from Blinding Lights the moment I first heard it. Lana topping both your songs and album lists Serving me with Carti in 2018. BL served future classic from the jump tbh And Lana didn't come to play around Hopefully LDR6 pulls through. On 12/4/2020 at 1:40 AM, Ewan Chaos said: Ashamed is a FLAWLESS song! First song I ever heard of Omar's (I think So Good is my favorite from that EP/album though?) and I held on after that. Norman Freaking Rockwell, title track, is sooooo good. I underrated it a bit when the album first came out but it's flawless even still. Blinding Lights & Don't Start Now are both still flawless songs from flawless albums. Lion Babe top album! Interesting pick, I found that better than their debut but still didn't LOVE the album too much. Into Me is their best song... so sexy! I think Ashamed was my first Omar song too! So Good is also a major bop ahhhhh love the NFR (song) acclaim. Surprised you liked Cosmic Wind over their debut (most people preferred their first album). Into Me is a major bop though, my fave song would have to be Different Planet. That's some dreamy **** On 12/4/2020 at 9:02 AM, Lazuli said: ahhh the NFR! sweep fallen alien as your top MAGAlene track is a choice but stan a bit nn I mean, is there even a wrong choice (and don't say holy terrain ) for best MAGDALENE sing? More a fan of their electronic material? And what a surprise I feel most people thought AP was filler but it was very well put together! I listen to it more than Negro Swan even lol (thought Negro Swan has started growing on me recently). Might be a bit of stretch though lol. Freetown Sound remains undefeated

Freetown Sound remains undefeated nooooo i love love love their chill r&b material like jungle lady and honey dew, but the full album felt a bit.. undercooked to me. i know they write and produce their own stuff and they prob dont have much budget but the best word i can think of is cheap i like a few songs here and there though. i loved their "hot in herre" cover this year. swan felt a bit too abstract to me? i dont know, but i didnt connect to it at all and havent really listened to it again since 2018. i love the stream of consciousness, effortless, mixtape vibes of angel's pulse and how the songs and the project itself doesnt drag for too long. and the features >>> i think its my favorite of his along w/ coastal grooves tbh! but i completely see why ppl would prefer swan and freetown sound.
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Can;t wait for 2020 list Seeing the 2019 list kinda aged me a bit. Can't believe it's been a year since it's released and some of them are truly the highilight of last year for me especially Blinding Lights, Don't Start Now, DHL, Songs For You & MAGDALENE
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Great Top album of 2019. I remember giving it a +80 score last year. Looking forward to this year's lists!
Pink Matter Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 Gonna start things with my first update! Like last year, it's all gonna be alphabetized since I don't have the energy to rank things this time around either nn Song of 2020 070 Shake|Guilty Conscience Spoiler Ariana Grande & The Weeknd|off the table Spoiler Bad Bunny|Yo Porreo Sola Spoiler Beyonce, Shatta Wale, & Major Lazer|Already Spoiler Calvin Harris & The Weeknd|Over Now Spoiler

I've honestly never gotten that feel from CW! That's interesting. I've always found the production to be full and pretty expansive at times. That cover was... a choice Maybe my feelings will change on a second listen I felt the same way at the time, was pretty disappointed with NS and felt like AP was a return to form. But when I listen to the tracks individually, they tend to shine better. Not too many songs that I actually dislike with some really nice cuts like Hope, Jewelry, Charcoal Baby, Holy Will, Out of Your League, Smoke I actually don't like Coastal Grooves too much. It's almost too poppy from what I remember 47 minutes ago, Mr. Blue_Shirt said: Can;t wait for 2020 list Seeing the 2019 list kinda aged me a bit. ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted December 7, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 7, 2020 Over Now Yo Perreo Sola is my fave Bad Bunny song
potent Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Over Now is ok, could've been a lot better though Not gonna bother with Ariana's album, but I like Abel so maybe I'll give that song a listen
Lazuli Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 off the table is cute but a far cry from what they can do tgt tbh
Ewan Chaos Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Ugh Guilty Conscience is so good. I still am not sure how I feel about that Ari/Weeknd track... but I think it is my favorite collab on the album. Good Bad Bunny pick too!
Wicked Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 The way we've all lost the effort over the years to rank stuff This set was a choice.
Blue Rose Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Long live the king you’re a king And you know it Beyoncé snapped with ALREADY!!!! An anthem!
K$Ellie Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 ugh I wish I had heard of this 070 Shake album earlier cause I would have listened and included it in my list off the table easily top 2 on the album along with nasty for me
mokitsu Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 already was the biggest grower after black is king. i didnt care much for it, but i love it now. same with "my power". the autotune'd runs at the start >>>
ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 7, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 7, 2020 the ari/weeknd collab was the only song i didn't like off positions it felt like a bad version of the-dream type rn songs from 12 years ago. guilty conscience and the bad bunny song make up for it though. guilty conscience is so powerful
Tom Vercetti Posted December 8, 2020 Posted December 8, 2020 You already know my feelings about guilty conscience. Off The Table was underwhelming and not as good as their other collab. Yo Perreo Sola is nice. Bad Bunny was a winner this year.
