Nils Frahm :jonny:

American Football sadly never reached their full potential.

I agree. Their first LP will always be the best, although I appreciate the effort. Happy to see some appreciation for Nils Frahm. I just realized he released a new LP this year!

beyonce is ofc a classic.  do you prefer it to lemonade and 4?

RAM is one of those albums thats not actually that good, but still had a huge impact on music.  im mixed on it.

my fave on this is probably the alvvays album, its the perfect dream pop throwback mixed with a twee throwback.  somehow felt acceptable in 2010s still. and omg, the dum dum girls miss them, i liked kristin kontrols solo project a lot to

I honestly do. Beyoncé was an excellent record. I think one of her tracks made it to that year's personal Top 100.

BEYONCÉ and Unorthodox Jukebox :smitten: My 2nd favorite albums from both. I still remember being disappointed when BEYONCÉ was surprise released because I was still 100% into top 40 pop and her changing sounds was a shock to me. :toofunny3:

Haha. I wonder how many people had to final edit their lists minutes before the end of the year.

Beyonce's self-titled is classic already :fan:

Agreed!

Bey's self titled was excellent :smitten: my fave from her

the Bruno album is pretty good too :jamming:

Solid album from Bruno Mars. I still remember the first time I listened to him. It was when he was a featured artist in Nothin' On You.

Honestly I would not be able to rank even top 50 of the 10s, let alone this, congrats on achieving this!

Thank the quarantine period for that. I was able to rank 400 albums/EPs in less than a month! Can you believe it?

I'm actually interested how you did it? Did you have some method or just listed them all first and then kept switching their positions? :fan:

that wild nothing album got a lot of hate iirc, was undeserved if you ask me

The effort that must have gone into compiling a decade list, well done :clap3:

I used to like Two Door Cinema Club, but they kinda fell out of my radar :michael:

Surprised to see Indigo ahead of Gemini. Latter's my favorite of his. I used to listen to Kurt Vile a few years ago. His 2015 was the entry point so I have some attachment to it. The War On Drugs album is also nice but I can only play it for certain moods.

Posted

This is a serious endeavor. :jonny:

Gosh I haven't checked for Two Door Cinema Club for a while but I used to really like them. They have a cool remix of Gaga's "Electric Chapel" too - pretty sure it's on Spotify.

Posted

I got excited seeing Two Door Cinema Club because I thought it was Tourist History but it's Beacon, which is basically just a bunch of TH B-Sides  I think I've only listened to that album twice while I've heard the other 3 plenty of times. Sun & Settle are solid highlights at least.

Haha. I wonder how many people had to final edit their lists minutes before the end of the year.

I remember plenty of people did :lmao: Pretty sure I had it on my 2014 list so it was too late for me, plus it needed time to grow anyway.

Marika's album is awesome. And then lots of albums where I either prefer other albums/have only listened to another album from that artist (Sunflower Bean, Wild Nothings). Again, will need to check some out...

Posted

The War on Drugs, TDCC, and White Lies - I like the singles from each album but never listened in full! I really liked Tourist History from TDCC though

Posted

lost in the dream :worship2:

listened to the wild nothings, tdcc and white lies albums once and i think they were cute

Beyoncé's self-titled album is def her best work to date :clap3:

Too True, wow, I completely forgot about this album, I loved it back then!

I printed 8 Excel pages with the 400 albums and rated each song from each album one by one. The score was obtained after dividing the total sum by the number of tracks and then multiplying it by ten.

Example:

Album 1 (8 tracks): 10 9 9 7 8 9 8 7 = 67/8 = 8.375 times TEN = 83.75 = Score: 84

Totally. If you ask me, Life Of Pause was the black sheep of his discography, not Indigo.

Unfortunately, after their 2012 album, they also fell out of my radar. They were one of my favorite bands of the early 2010s.

Really? But there was not much difference score-wise. You'll see Nocturne waaaay ahead. :fonso:

this one is for the gays, with aphrodite and kacey.

kacey's album held up so well.  so did aphrodite, but i mainly return to the same 3-4 tracks.  they are REALY brilliant though.

Golden Hour is such a masterpiece tbh :jonny: amazing record

Aphrodite :alexz: pop classic :alexz:

Day Breaks is one my least favorite Norah albums, but I'm glad to see her on list :heart2:

Golden Hour, Heartthrob, ROOSEVELT YAAAAAAAAS!!!!! And THAT is the Sunflower Bean album I've already had. It's really good!

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever; listened to their album from this year and it was good! I wish I'd have listened to it more though honestly.
