a better album than I was expecting considering the messy rollout, everything is solid except Hate Me and High which are both decent still  doesn't have as many standouts as an album like Bangerz but at least we got Prisoner and a bit of a streak from the title track to Midnight Sky + Bad Karma

I liked the individual minis on their own to a certain extent but once they were put together it made for a very consistent album. Psycho and In & Out were the only BIG standouts that I would consider their best songs but most of the b-sides were very cute like LP, Bing Bing, Sunny Side Up and Ladies Night  the two other title tracks were also growers. Hate this kind of release strategy tho x

solid album, boppy all the way through, exactly what I was expecting from it so I was pleased when I FINALLY got around to it  if we cut off the two fillers (My Phone and Going Home) the score would be even higher

I've decided to exclude the deluxe songs, otherwise this would be an 8.0 at best  starts off VERY strong, the first 3 are easily my faves  I will say that as the album goes on it gets a bit cheesy and on the nose but it's still a fun experience

two disco albums out back to back  only complaint is that a few songs are a bit of a chore to sit through, the opener especially which drags on for 8m when it absolutely doesn't need to. The production can be overwhelming so I have to be in a particular mood to listen but great alberm x

I remember not liking their previous album at all so this was a massive step up  knew this would be good since I checked out Do It and whew what a song  although it's always a bit underwhelming when the lead single is the best song but at least this has a few other standouts

My second highest rated k-pop album this year, until Apple came out I would have never thought GFriend would DELIVER like this  Apple kept randomly growing on me over time and I was fully stanning before the album release. I was counting down the days for MAGO after hearing the snippets cause it sounded THAT good and they didn't disappoint  thought the b-sides would suck but they're all very cute and big growers, Love Spell has been HITTING recently  only GRWM and Secret Diary are meh

Liked this a lot but I've never been in love with Fiona outside of a couple of songs so that explains why it wasn't AOTY material for me. Very good album back to front though, consistent with a good few standouts  she hasn't topped Every Single Night for me but Cosmonauts was close

my fave rap album of the year, easily the best new rap girl  the fact that she did this with a mixtape too  I think this started around 7.8 but a lot of songs grew on me and its an album that I keep on revisiting. Even now Send The Addy is hitting me when I thought it was a filler before  she deserved more attention for this, I wish her label hadn't dropped the ball with May I when it started going viral cause it's her best song

DISCO maybe gets a little repetitive but I like how she chose a theme and stuck to it, it's just full of bops

Honestly FTBC was the first Fiona album I ever heard, but it's a slay great trinity, the only one I'm kinda surprised to not see there is I Want You to Love Me

 

I love Dua but Prisoner isn't good

Miley's album and The Aces were fine releases this year. The latter's I guess I was KINDA disappointed because I started to stan a bit after seeing them live for album #1, but the second record was just okay imo.

 

Disco, Roisin Machine, FTBC  I PERSONALLY don't agree with the criticism of the long songs or w/e on Roisin Machine, but I do UNDERSTAND it when people still give it praise nnn if that's the only reason why people don't like it I'm like GET TASTE!

Positions should have been out of top100.

this is indeed a quality update: we got dreamcatcher, empress of, and rtj.

 

honestly, considering what you had in other updates, i think that carly, haim, and perfume genius are the ones that are too high, but at least there was quality material in their albums, somewhere.

 

dreamcatcher serving versatility was the gag of the season to me.  loungey jazz, funk, electropop, omg they can do it all  

I hope it's top 10 for the giggles

 

Perfume Genius was actually quite nice but very overrated by critics I think

 

ikr, too bad their latest mini sucked but they can really serve it up occasionally

Neo Zone was a lovely album I think with only like 3 fillers and the good songs made up for that
