despite being butchered with horrible remixes across the year, "levitating" is undoubtedly the crown jewel of "future nostalgia". it balances the breezy and carefree energy of the record with its unapologetically fun disco side, creating an irresistible banger that will be played across every gay club in the world for decades to come. the space imagery of the cover is present in the lyrics, that invite the listener to an intergalactic party. and if this bouncy song is indication of how fun a night out with dua is, then i'll get in my spaceship asap.
