I didn’t follow him before so I had no expectations. Loved the album since day1. James Blake is blessing us with a cover EP, dropping tonight he’s actually my 4th most listened artist of 2020 (NO ALBUM OUT ) 18 minutes ago, perpetual novice said: RTJ4 being in the lower end of the list RTJ3 remains unbothered but 4 is amazing. Excited for top 10 Top20 first coming tomorrow 17 minutes ago, dreamofyou said: afters hours is decent - FN being low is a choice I love FN but the last 2 songs I always skip and that brings it down. After Hours, I can listen without skipping and I think AF has higher highs.

I also loved the little bit of Country influence on certain songs. I love Country but in very small doses. 29. Every Bad by Porridge Radio (Indie Rock) Catchy, Anthemic and Lesbian. What else can you ask for? 28. A Written Testimony by Jay Electronica (HipHop) This album just keeps getting better after every listen and the production is stunning. 27. Otherliine by Otherliine, George FitzGerald & Lil Silva (Pop, Dance) I loved this project. Fun and light. 26. You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere by The Districts (Alternative) Love this vibe, the production is amazing and Dancer is a tune that Ive been obsessed with all year long. 25. B4 I Breakdown by Ojerime (R&B) Easily one of the most promising R&B artists out there. Her style is very unique, reminiscent of the amazing 90s R&B with a modern, almost Rock edge. The whole album is very impressive. 24. Before EP + loosies by James Blake (Glitch Pop) The EP of the year imo. Not only that, everything he has released this year has been absolutely outstanding. James has the midas touch. 23. Roisin Machine by Roisin Murphy (Disco, Pop) The sexiest Disco tinged album of the year. It also has more of an Electronic flair than her sisters, which is an added bonus for me. 22. After Hours by The Weeknd (Pop, R&B) The album seems to have 2 personalities, an 80s influenced Pop side and a dark and cinematic R&B side. Miraculously they worked pretty well together. 21. Motherhood by No Joy (Shoegaze, Dream Pop) The songs are very easy to get lost into despite their chaotic energy at times. Layers!

Sunderland 4ever Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Mordechai is THE best choice to start your Top 50. I have played it so much this year. It was the first LP I heard from them, but I do remember checking out some previous material from them, their EP Texas Sun. Other albums I recognize are numbers 49, 45 and 42. I think the latest Bad Bunny record was his best album of the year.
Sunderland 4ever Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I recognize albums 29, 23 and 22. No Joy belongs to two of my favorite genres, although I must say that I'm not a big fan of noisy shoegaze such as MBV. I'm more into the Slowdive quieter style. That being said, I'm surprised I haven't checked out that LP. Top 20, bring it on!
Psycho Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Abel I've heard Murphy's Law but didn't give the album a listen
Delta Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Nice to see Roisin Machine. Too bad I started listening to it too late in the game on my lists
Bubble Tea Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 The Weeknd is cute but.... I think we have very different music tastes.

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 3, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 3, 2020 Motherhood is such a good album. Synth pop + shoegaze i just got into porridge radio. I like how it’s fun post punk. That’s rare nowadays. and roisin is also too low for me but she still hit the halfway mark. Every single song blends with the album, even the eight year Old ones
Mezik Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 After Hours I think the one place it suffers is, outside the singles - it can be a bit boring/slow? I enjoyed it the first few listens, but now I find I can only really listen to the singles. I love the cohesiveness and quality of the end product though - it's absolutely fantastic in the small details.
K$Ellie Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 LP5? the twigs rip off Roisin Machcine kinda aged for me but I'm gonna try to get back into it this week Jealousy and Murphy's Law are BOPS After Hours was a solid effort, way too long with the deluxe but one of his better albums 11 hours ago, Blue Rose said: I think Whole New Mess production suits her best. Mr. Loco Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 After hours & Future nostalgia are both great!! Bringing back the best of the 80s sound, love them!

Tom Vercetti Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Only familiar with 2 of the albums from the 30--21 batch. Agree on The Weeknd take.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Screaming at the Porridge Radio description. Honestly, you're right! Roisin Murphy's album, ****ing flawless. The Weeknd's album, really really good too! Let me check out LP5, Otherliine, and Motherhood based on your descriptions
potent Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I only know After Hours this time a little bit long/repetitive at times but definitely had some great songs Porridge Radio sounds kinda interesting!
BlackoutZone Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Roisin However it feels more like a late evening romantic dinner and WYP leads the sexual after hours, but I love both albums! After Hours was too mild for me at parts, love the stand outs, but there was not much left to appreciate among the album tracks (especially if you add the deluxe, the record gets lengthy and for what)
Lazuli Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I liked some of the Porridge Radio songs but I couldn't really get into the album as a whole Roisin and Weeknd
taemin Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 first time seeing King Krule on a best of 2020 list I liked Against All Logic's sophomore album but it didn't meet the high standards of the debut for me
