I've never listened to their older material... I never thought it would be experimental and arty, I'll have to check it out. I really liked Ungodly Hour
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 19, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted December 19, 2020 abel, lianne and miley deserved better i don't mind taylor being hm only
GreatestLoveofAll Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 PH and B7 and even folklore? This top 50 list must be immaculate

ATRL Moderator madonnas Posted December 19, 2020 Author ATRL Moderator Posted December 19, 2020 50. porridge radio - every bad genre: post punk for fans of: sleater kinney standouts: sweet, dont ask me twice post punk with a pulse and a heart, this is the first time i've heard of these ladies but im glad they were a discovery. t heir music is timeless and just an all around joy discovering them. only low on my list becuase of limited exposure, thats my bad. 49. buscabulla - regresa genre: chillwave for fans of: neon indian, the tdrought is real. standouts: el aprieto, nte i have been a fan of them since their ep a few years ago and im glad they came back with an album thats basically in the same style. its consistent and enjoyable theres really no bad track and the album flows well. 48. la roux - supervision genre: synth pop for fans of: trouble in paradise. standouts: guillible fool, 21st century this is basically the less dynamic, more static version of their 2014 album. i dont mean that in a mean way, its not as emotional or sad and has more fun moments. i mean there are def sad moments but tip kinda had a lot of emo moments. 47. empress of - im your empress of genre: synth pop for fans of: her first album standouts: love is the drug, bit of rain yeah, empress of came back big with this era and im glad she did. she gave us bouncy house bops and personal moments filled with pain and joy but we were dancing for most of the album. the songs are sharper and fully formed, and i think she's more adept at fast paced quirky songs than she is at slower "chill" songs. she's learned her strength. 46. no joy - motherhood genre: dream pop for fans of: perfume genius? standouts: four, primal curse this is just an all around great shoegaze/dream pop album with lots of noisiness and catchiness going on. listen to it if you want something fast paced and engaging but still dream pop. 45. dreamcatcher - dystopia genre: kpop for fans of: versatile kpop groups standouts: jazz bar, scream yeah, its been said before, but this album really served extreme versatility. pseudo metal, jazz, funk, power pop, dance, its all on here. dreamcatcher still manage to shine through all of the changes with their signature powerful and dramatic choruses. 44. i break horses - warnings genre: dream pop for fans of: lana del rey standouts: turn, death engine yeah, this album is so underrated. its sorta like lana del rey + beach house?? i know thats such a trivial comparison but if you like both i have a hard time seeing you not like this. its got a lot of rhythms that are a little intricate sorta but still got that sad girl dreamy vibe to it. the long songs, (shocker) are actually the best!! 43. bbymutha - muthaland genre: southern hip hop for fans of: tumblrcore standouts: nice guy, bbymutha this bbymutha that this album did not disappoint. it came way too late but ill still take it. bbymutha has a really nice flow and i really like her couldn't give a **** attitude. she talks about all sorts of stuff here. romance, twitter drama, politics, etc. i think it makes a great introduction to an underrated and prolific artist. 42. riki - riki genre: darkwave for fans of: siouxsie, i mean come on just look at the album cover standouts: napoleon, monumental i mean this is basically just darkwave/synth pop throwback to the early 80s. if you like that stuff youll like this. its not derivative but it doesn't reinvent the wheel, it just gives you that kinda sound for those of us craving new artists. 41. the strokes - the new abnormal genre: indie rock for fans of: waiting a long ass time for another good album standouts: at the door, brooklyn bridge to chorus finally. its a strokes album. and its good. hello, lets celebrate that!
Ewan Chaos Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Yes yes yes Buscabulla. Gah Neon Indian haven't thought about that bitch in a while. Need a new album (or I guess I can just listen to Neon Vega for the 10000th time). Haven't heard Buscabulla before their album but I love their background as Puerto Ricans and your top 2 are my top 2 as well. Porridge Radio cute! Lesbians, we love to see it. La Roux and Empress Of back to back YUP. Also I keep seeing La Roux referred to as "they" from other lists but isn't it just Elly now? nnn The Strokes album was good too but I didn't really get as into it as I would have liked. I see myself liking it more as time goes on. Saw I Break Horses on someone else's list and they're on my "to check out" section. I'll see if any other hoes I don't know here I'll check out
TheWayWeWere Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Supervision getting some acclaim again I adored this album

K$Ellie Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 love to see XS in the top 20 Little Nokia, JU$T, Roisin and Aly & AJ cute as well Cool is nice but not one of my faves kinda hate visions, anthems did it better Don't Stop so high amazing production, wish it had a better hook maybe Ladies is like my least fave on FTBC nnnn I prefer Freak and Slime but Siren is a nice choice for #1 as well folklore was ROBBED but everything else is fine Yves, Twice, Bree, Weeknd, Yaeji, Miley, City Girls and Carly ranged from ok to cute mostly ahhhh Jazz Bar one of your standouts on Dreamcatcher's album I Break Horses yup yup, stunning album Empress is cute too
Remmy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I'm Your Empress Of Both standouts Yeah her upbeat tracks are usually superior. Took a peek at Riki but I feel like her music sounds better on paper

Sounds like something I can dig. I'll be checking out this one. And a huge YES to The Strokes being mentioned. They really delivered the goods this time. Porridge Radio was alright. Buscabulla looks interesting. Overall, a nice mix of albums that I either liked or I would like to listen to. Edited December 20, 2020 by Sunderland 4ever
potent Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 The Strokes making it At the Door and Brooklyn Bridge are great choices they definitely had better songs than Bad Decisions in there even though I understand why it was the single
