Should Doxxing Be A More Severe Offense?

Recommended Posts

I’m a shady bitch that loves drama tea. I won’t lie. I have shade in my veins.

But, Doxxing individuals for the sake of internet attention is not okay. CreepShow Art on YouTube, is massively talented and her opinions are fire.

She was recently doxxed by Without A Crystal Ball. CreepShow has safety reasons in her past that this could be potentially dangerous. Because of the severity of the situation, should criminal prosecution do more for those who doxx others online? Because it seems like the fact another individual can endanger another person without a slap on the hand is eerie.

I dunno. But what do you gheys think of doxxing?

I only support doxxing people with power who are hurting others.  Politicians, New York Times writers, etc.

Any half decent attorney will point out to the courts that the " victim " chose to become a public figure by engaging in internet shenanigans...

I'm pretty sure you can get prosecuted in the UK for doxing. But as with lots of online crimes, it can be quite difficult to track the perpetrator.

Considering everyone has the right to privacy, yes, it should be an offense

If you are using your platform to anonymously harrass and attack others, you have forfeited the right to privacy and deserve to be doxxed.

No. If you get doxed it's your fault for sharing too much information. It's not hard to keep your identity hidden.
