These numbers are way off, but it’s likely Fraudmasters.

Britney Spears sold 40 million with the albums listed in the OP! :clap3:

Blackout didn't make and I suppose My Prerogative wasn't included because it isn't a studio album.

She probably sold 50 million albums in the last 00s alone, and with BOMT she would be at 70 million or more.

Yes! Until there's a more accurate source (not IFPI shipments), SEETHE!

My Prerogative was #7 for 2004 after Destiny's Fulfilled (#6).

Of course - what other source is there that's not shipments? Until there's one SEETHE!

So you're trying to tell me that The Emancipation Of Mimi, an album that sold 6.1 Million copies in the US alone and went top 10 in the 4 biggest markets + #4 on the european charts has only sold 2.5M outside of the US? at the very least it has sold 10M worldwide

These numbers are only for that specific year, right? Obviously these aren’t units sold as of today/2020.

Yes - it's European sales were not strong - it managed to sell around 1.3M in Europe; it didn't make Top 100 year end for 2006 and not sure where it was in 2005.

Even it's Asia sales were not as strong compared to her baseline - TEOM sold ~300k in Japan when her past albums would sell 1M+ alone.

So 2.5M outside the USA seems fair

It's their total sales but someone of them may have not been updated if they haven't charted recently.

How much did My Prerogative sell? :dancehall:

Billboard reported it'd sold 7+ million once.

if you look at TEOM certifications/ charting, it clearly hasn't sold 10M, definitely not only 8.6M, but definitely not 10M

According to chartmasters, it sold approximately 6M.

UK - 1M+

USA - ~2M

Japan - 1M

France - ~500k

It was certified at 1 million copies sold in Europe by IFPI in November 2005, so at the very least it has sold 1.5M copies overall (and I wouldn't even discredit 2M copies sold overall in Europe), also there are other strong markets in Asia outside of Japan so I can see it selling at least 600K overall in Asia

I mean I have seen reports that even say it has sold 12M, so 10M seems quite fair to me, that would mean 61% of its sales came from the US alone

Britney and Beyonce really owned the industry back then :jonny6: its also crazy to see how Taylor still remains a powerhouse with her sales.
