Dua and The Weeknd leading the noms; this is what was supposed to happen with the actual Grammys but at least Dua got 6 actual noms I guess

Also I'm gonna ****ing lose it when yall pick some terrible alternatives instead of Jessie Ware over all of her categories. She deserves everything (except Dance, I prefer that to go to Murphy's Law which is a bit more ACTUAL Dance and Roisin deserves a win).

Yeah, Roisin served the only true dance song in that category so that's where my vote is probably going to.

I would be fascinated to hear what your definition of dance music is.

Nnn I feel like dance music should be clarified as music created with the primary purpose of dancing to it in mind.  Alice and Say Something are just upbeat pop songs but I don't feel like they qualify as dance music.  WYP is kinda borderline for me, as I don't personally consider it as a dance song but can see that it might have been created as a dance music.  Hallucinate and Murphy's Law are the only two that I really feel like should be considered dance music IMO.

We can disagree though that's fine!  I just would have loved to see less pop and more dance in that category like Impact, Secrets, On My Mind, Rushing Back, Head and Heart, etc.

Interesting. I would agree that "Say Something" is the most marginal, but I ultimately put it there because it's more of a throwback disco song than pop. "Alice" is house music! And "What's Your Pleasure?" is built on a funky groove that is all about the club not radio. So I would absolutely defend those placements as well. I think ATRL sometimes has this narrow conception of dance music, largely relegated to EDM superproducers, because that's what the popular strain of the genre was over the past decade. But it's so much broader than that! So while I get your frustration that this is a category dominated pop artists, at least they do are doing dance music in its varied stripes.

"Look at Her Now" deserved to be Record of the Year! Why did her fans push for "Lose You to Love Me" instead?

LYTLM was the only hit so it makes sense, but Look At Her Now is so catchy that it made me break my "I only listen to singers" regime twice

Where's the ballot though? :foxaylove3:
