Mexico adds streamings in certifications!

For the first time the Mexican music industry will include in the Gold, Platinum and Diamond awards the singles reproduced in the more than 20 platforms present in the Country
The Mexican Association of Producers of Phonograms and Videograms (Amprofon), will add the songs heard in streaming to Gold, Platinum and Diamond Certifications through the more than 20 legal music platforms present in our country.
 
Gilda González Carmona, general manager of Amprofon explained that "the measure puts at the forefront the preference of consumers to listen to music on digital platforms, according to IFPI's latest Music Consumption study, 71% of users Of the internet between 16-64 years of age, access to music available online legally. "
 
The Amprofon Board of Directors approved taking into account streams of more than 30 seconds, which are freely chosen by the consumer, or songs included in a playlist created by the same users.
 
The songs listened via streaming will be added to digital certifications of Single Track, according to the established by the international guidelines of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), by its abbreviations in English.
 
According to a survey of 13 leading music markets, including Mexico, 82% of young people between 13 and 15 years old listen to music licensed and are willing to pay for it.
 
In the first half of the year, digital music sales accounted for 73% of total sales in Mexico. Of the digital sales, about 76% were revenues obtained through streaming platforms in Premium services or Advertising, a fact that highlights the ease and accessibility of this service.
 
Of the artists most heard via streaming in the national territory in the first semester of the year they emphasize Maluma with "Borró Cassette", Justin Bieber with "Love Yourself", Rihanna with the theme "Work", Mike Posner, DJ Snake, Major Lazer and Joey Montana.
 
From this day on, the Mexican music industry will be able to award recognitions to the most sold, listened and downloaded according to the following criteria:
 
No Restriction on Launch Date
Format: Audio Single Track
Gold Disc: 30,000
Platinum Disc: 60,000
Diamond Disc: 300,000
 
It should be noted that Amprofon Associates will be able to request Single Track certifications in accordance with Internet music sales through legal services as it is the only association in Mexico that can grant such certifications.

I asked a friend to check with Ten Music Group, but my guess is 150/250:1

Both Dangerous Woman and Revival already are certified 2x Platinum there. I thought streaming was already part of that, but good to know their sales are that great there
