Gaga makes music for art, not for commercial profit

Plus Taylor released a bunch of songs from that artsy fartsy album while Gaga has interludes

Chromatica best song is literally an interlude. The bar is low sis

Rain on Me and Shallow are both outcharting Cardigan (OUT of Top 100) outside of US market :celestial5:

Chromatica probably hit it faster but because 3 songs had already been released

Chromatica is a far more commercial than Folklore though, following the trends initiated by Abel and Dua.

I don't get the Swifties vs. Monsters war all of a sudden...it seems so petty

Both are successful eras.

The Weeknd and Dua have synth and disco inspired sound while Gaga's record was inspired by house music (a bigger niche genre under the EDM category (a not so popular genre in 2020) while Abel and Dua are under pop category).

Meanwhile simplistic songs have been trendy and smashing. Taylor was chasing Lewis Capaldi sound with this album.

aren't ROM and Shallow outcharting every-song from folklore rn? Depending on which metric you point to, one could be doing better than the other.

Y'all have gotta stop with these depressing stan wars, it's exhausting seeing Gaga/Taylor threads everyday

Also worth noting that 2 prior singles were released for Chromatica before May 29, so gaga had a massive headstart.

folklore stats is amazing tbh. I could see it outstreaming Lover in the long run.

And Lover is more acclaimed than actually good albums from 2000s and early 2010s. Critics don't mean anything anymore, just non-authentic favoribility scores.

Hold Me While You Wait and Before I Go are both smashing. List me any other house song that is smashing in 2020 outside of Rain on Me. Quick!

2 of the most successful pop girls with active eras, it’s kinda inevitable

There is absolutely nothing trendy about folklore. :dies: Pretty much every review and music commentator pointed out that it doesn’t even have a single viable radio single :rip:
