1989 is by far bigger than Gaga’s lackluster career.

The Fame alone >>> 1989. The iconicness, the hits, the worldwide success. 1989 was pretty much dead after Blank Space in most of Europe. :rip:

What's up with all these Taylor vs Gaga threads? Why're yall trying so hard to pit Swifties & Monsters against each other? :toofunny2:

Europe != the World, and 1989 was a massive smash in some European markets anyway.

OT: let's see:

1989

3 #1 smash hits

Diamond-eligible

$250m grossing tour

Over 7 billion YT views

TFM

2 #1 smash hits

has an EP tacked on to it to make it seem bigger

$227m grossing tour

The Fame and The Fame Monster are 2 eras and they are both individually bigger than 1989.

Everyone (including the Swifties) should be able to accept that. 1989  was of course a huge success.

The Fame easily wins in Europe I think:gaycat2:

In the US I'd say they're equal, unless you include TFM as well:cm:

Sure, but Europe as a whole is still a massive music market, and 1989's certifications here aren't very impressive at all, it even never went beyond Gold in four countries. The Fame, on the other hand, is multi-Platinum in almost every country that has a certification system.
