They saw how hard the remix is flopping and everyone hating it so they rush to release the album version now with a tiktok video :rip:

Seriously even tho she has bops this girl has 0 artistic integrity.

She really is giving us everything we want with this era :jonny5: I was hoping she would release Hallucinate to american radio but either way I'm glad she's dumping that horrible remix and releasing the superior version as a single

Levitating Remix was literally never meant to be a single, it wasn't even sent to the radio and solo was planned to be a single before it even came out :skull: It was just released as a promotional thing for Club Future Nostalgia, it's not like a tarck that features Madonna had ANY chance to be a hit in 2020, how is artistic integrity related to that in any way...

She is not 'dumping' the remix. The remix was just a promo release for the Club Future Nostalgia album, both can excist at the same time lol

so clever promo and carrying out a pre-existing plan eradicates artist integrity? make it make sense

First of all, we knew that the OG is going to get pushed before the remix dropped.
Second, who in their right mind would think that a club remix with legacy acts would be commercially successful in 2020...Her team is not that dumb.

Levitate is such a great song, but between: Hallucinate, UN DIA and Levitating rexix/single release she has so much out at the same time.

Don't Start Now smashed because of longevity. And now she's letting nothing breathe...

If the remix had been received well by her fans they would've pushed it instead of releasing the album version as a single

yes its had its missteps recently, but people will call this era “messy“ just because we're getting more content than you usually get in eras these days :cm:

Tbh when you look at it:

Hallucinate was only pushed a little as a single by her label in the UK and it's climbing there week by week, it's just a cute filler top 40, cause BMH peaked there way earlier than in the US.

Un Dia is not managed by Dua's team so it;s all J Balvin's team deciding on its push and sadly it's already peaking on US radio too.

Levitating Remix was also just an introduction for CFN without being a single, so the solo version in fact will be her first track to be pushed as a US single since BMH which got released with the album and peaked on the radio in last 2 weeks, so september will be a right time for next track to get the push.

If they didn't intend for it to be a commercial success then why did they make a music video for it?

Because they simply can, Future Nostalgia title track got the music video too, Dua is really passinate about this era and puts a lot of effort in it.

:rip:  Like ofcourse, because that is how commercial music works. If for whatever reason a Pretty Please tik tok challange had taken off the last 8 weeks, they would have considered pushing that most likely as well. Though the reality is that Levitating (original)  was already meant to be pushed. The remix never was meant to be a full length single and just a promotional teaser for the Club Nostalgia, that is why it is not serviced to radio etc.

So things still go as planned...
