Kelp Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 What's the elimination format this season? Is it like Season 1 where you have to get eliminated twice until the top 10?

A quality that could show people who they are by just reading their words. Every time you’re adventuring to try to find new singers, new authors, new actors; new artists, your mind always looks for something that sticks out, for that very thing that will become the reason people will recognize them. Which is their essence. For this round, we want you to show everyone in this competition what you can bring, show everyone who you are, bring your essence to your song. We want to get a glimpse of what lies within your mind, to get to see who you are as a writer. You can write about anything you want. You can express your emotions towards anything, project your ideals on your song, you can talk about who you are, you can tell us about your favorite things on Earth, you can show us your comedic side. There’s an infinity of possibilities on how you can approach this round. It’s up to you. We only ask for one thing: Let this be an introductory piece of who you are as a writer. You will have until Friday, August 28th to submit your entry for this first challenge. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR ENTRIES HERE. Reveal hidden contents @Gay Rat Divorce @Overprotected @Hug @luckystrike @selena_lavigne @Not Like The Movies @Glassmouth @Lucky#17 @ceremonials @hurricane326 @beatinglikeadrum @Invisibility @Speezy @Rence @Dessy @8thPrince @pig @funnellegs @Orfeo Another thing that I will need from you is: Please post on the thread what is your favorite planet, moon, satellite, any type of orb thank you <3 let me bump this for the lazy people

Aurora Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 This came at a really nice time in my life honestly. And the judges, wonderful! Would like to try this again. And we'll pretend last season didn't happen ok.

Know how to effectively use rhymes. For example, the ABAB and AABB patterns are two of the most used rhyming schemes and also are the most easiest to employ. You can use any rhyming scheme however, as long as it works for you. 2. You don't always have to use perfect rhymes, slant rhymes are just as good and sometimes even better! (Google is always your friend.) The addition of internal rhymes can also really lift up a lyric. 3. Know your meter. There's lots of stuff to know about the meter. The meter is all about the stressed and unstressed syllabic pattern in a line or a verse. But here's a quick example: I love my cat (4) Her name is betty (5) Sits on the mat, (4) She is a fatty (5) Accents can change the stressed parts so the most important thing is to look out for the number of syllables. 4. Know when to use literary devices like metaphors, similes and alliteration. They can help a lot. 5. Feel free to experiment. You can write a song without using any rhyming words or a proper meter and it can still turn out great. Just have fun with it and it'll most likely be okay. Quoting this because it's important for song writing (but not the be all and end all -and rules are meant to be broken ) I'd also add: If you're setting a tone, think about the words being used to emphasise it. Word maps can really help with this (I have so many from my season ) Don't force rhymes, they're not meant to be restrictive! If it's not fitting, take it out!
