Home-bound

To be completely honest, I have to agree with you. This is one of my favorite Hug songs as well! I honestly can’t help it but get emotional when reading the last line of your chorus. It gives me such joy to think of how you’ve reached this peaceful and euphoric state of mind where you’ve completed a stage in your life and are ready for your next adventure. There’s closure but there’s also a hint for continuation.

Concept wise I feel like this also kind of makes a lot of sense when taken into consideration the album that you’ve been creating in the course of the season, this album is about life, about being ready for all the experiences that come with it, I’d even say it’s mostly about liberation since there is a strong sentiment of relief in almost all of the songs that you wrote. And this was the perfect closer for the album.

I can even imagine this song having a very triumphant, joyful, ethereal production that ends abruptly because that outro is basically a testament of how far you’ve yet to go in life. It is so inspiring, exciting and beautiful.

I am sure beautiful things are waiting ahead for you <3

bystander

Now that I’ve read this song, I’m starting to understand a lot of things about you that I didn’t know before. It felt like one of those movies that have a very illuminating ending where things get explained through a little plot twist.

I love what this song means and what it represents for you. If I think about it, this was kind of a simulation to prepare yourself so you could grow, so you could find some peace of mind, so you could be more conscious about certain things to finally be able to face them in your real life.

Writing is such a powerful thing where it lets us create scenarios where we can reveal everything that lies within our minds. And in most of your songs, it was all about emotions.

I love how the outro of this song also made a full circle moment where it took you back not only to the very first song you wrote this season but also to a place where you felt peace. Which is what your newfound journey will bring you.

Your journey on the real world awaits for you and I truly hope you get to where you want and deserve to be.

it’s only happiness

From the very first round, from your very first submission, from the time I read “That Day In June” and saw how difficult it was for you to let yourself dive into the hurt and the trauma, one of my purposes of this competition was to try to help by pushing you to go into those places, only if you were ready of course.

And I saw your progress throughout the season. Getting to dig into the scars and facing all those memories that haunted you.

I got really emotional reading this song because not only is it your final song of the season but it is also a representation of your process of healing. I am so happy to read how you turned all darkness, all demons into something that will benefit your life.

Coming to terms is not about forgetting but about learning and growing from those experiences. This should be a celebration of your journey; from how far you’ve come and of how far you’ve yet to go.

This is what you deserve. Only happiness.

AUBURN'S REVIEWS PART 2

@Hug

HOME-BOUND

It’s usually evident in your work, but it is especially clear here that writing is just something that comes naturally to you. I absolutely love this song and its flow. Again, it also feels like the perfect closer to your season.

@Rence

BYSTANDER

I think my favorite line here is the one about these songs being lessons you’ve never learned. Something about that really resonated with me. It’s a great summation of you and your style.

@funnellegs

IT’S ONLY HAPPINESS

Oh I really really loved this. It feels so personal to you, and so raw. It might be the simplest entry submitted this round, but that’s what I like about it so much. Excellent. :weeps:
