Will Khalid and Bruno Mars survive the 2020s?

Both seem like they have to reinvent their sound to maintain success.

What will happen?

Thinking Of You

Bruno, yes. All it’s going take for him is to steal Craig David’s sound and aesthetic.

Khalid, no.

Khalid idk. Bruno Mars probably, because he’s an R&B-leaning male popstar and the GP never demands too much of those.

Mr. Venti

ofc Bruno will survive. he does not have to do anything to maintain success. he could have made his third album full of soccer mom ballads like his debut and it still would have smashed. khalid on the other hand does not really have a sound. he just makes a bunch of different tracks and when he's lucky some of them stick, when not they dont

Kings.

Yet another dumb thread on ATRL asking a question that none of us have the definitive answer to :juanny:

Anyway, y’all should know better than to doubt Bruno after his last massive era (his third consecutive one, which got him 2 more #1 singles, and yes I’m counting Uptown Funk) that’s all I have to say on that :gaygacat4:

First half for sure. Not sure how things will go down for them in the second half.

Both of them had hits last year.

Please Me was a hit, but underperformed to expectations.

Khalid had his biggest hit in 2019 but this year he's been releasing multiple nonevent singles.

24K Magic is still the biggest male era of the 2010s. Bruno will dominate the 2020s. Y’all n*ggas will be mad again.

St. Francis

Bruno, yes because of his artistry and him having an actual fanbase.

Khalid, no but is more comparable to the likes of Jason Derulo where only the GP cares about their songs. Even if he falls off, he could possibly have the opportunity to sustain himself in the same way Jason did.

Khalid's albums do well though, poor comparison :rip:
