Totally agree that Daisy deserved a nod, but Paul's acting in that depression episode was the best acting of the series.

But the fact that she didn't get an acting nod for any of the shows... :rip:

:deadbanana4: yeah that's true, but they're still all done by her production company or in association with her company so still wins for her in some ways

HBO marketed the show as a drama series from the get go, not a limited series. just because the show got cancelled or postponed season 2 indefinitely or whatever doesn't make it a limited series.

Damon Lindelof said there won't be a season 2 with him :michael: And even if they continue it will end up being an anthology series not a continuation of this season.

Also, didn’t watchment get cancelled, how did it get 100 nominations 🥴

No, it's a limited/1 season series and it's one of the best series of the past 10 years

It ended.

The creator only signed on to show-run the one season and didn’t renew. HBO didn’t wanna to a 2nd season without him.

she is everything and the only reason I watch. such a woman.

Billy's crying makes me cringe. They're both great.. don't get me wrong.. I just think the other pose actors need recognition too. he's not carrying the show.

GD predictions vs. Emmy noms:

Tracee Ellis Ross>Pamela Adlon +1

Anthony Anderson>Larry David +1

Yvonne Orji & Cecily Strong>Jane Lynch & Emily Hampshire +1

William Jackson Harper & Andre Braugher>James Marsden & Nicholas Hoult +2

Sandra Oh & Zendaya>Elisabeth Moss & Viola Davis, though I personally had Kidman in instead

Steve Carell>Bob Odenkirk

Fiona Shaw & Samira Wiley>Janet McTeer & Rhea Seehorn +1

Giancarlo Esposito, Jeffrey Wright, Nicholas Braun, & Mark Duplass>Jonathan Banks, Tom Pelphrey, David Harbour, & Mandy Patinkin +2

Kerry Washington, Shira Haas & Octavia Spencer>Merritt Wever, Kaitlyn Dever, & Reese Witherspoon +2

Paul Mescal & Jeremy Pope>Russell Crowe & Aaron Paul +1

Uzo Aduba, Tracy Ullman & Holland Taylor>Rose Byrne, Allison Janney & Sarah Paulson +1

Louis Gossett Jr, Tituss Burgess, Jovan Adepo, & Dylan McDermott>Tim Blake Nelson, John Slattery, John Turturro & Joe Mantello +3

Laverne Cox & Harriet Walter>Jane Lapotaire & Pamela Adlon +1

Angela Bassett & Maya Rudolph >Judith Light & Lisa Kudrow +2

Brad Pitt, Dev Patel, & Adam Driver>John Mulaney, Jon Hamm, & Zachary Levi

Martin Short & Giancarlo Esposito>Charles Dance & Gerald McRaney +1

So a total of 19 black actors got in over predicted white actors.

But in a year where 1/20 Oscar nominated actors was non-white, it seems fair to go in the opposite direction given how white supremacy is still pretty prevalent in Hollywood.

Assuming wiki updated correctly:

Series snub goes to Morning Show which got more major noms than 5/8 of the Series nominees. Including Mandalorian & Stranger Things which had 0 other major noms.

Limited Series snub goes to Hollywood which got more major noms than 2/5 of the nominees.

Network comedy/drama/longform noms:

Good Place, series & actor & sup actor & sup actress & writing (nbc)

SNL, sup actor & sup actress & sup actress (nbc)

...Blackish, actor & actress (abc)

This is Us, actor (nbc)

Will & Grace, directing (nbc)

Brooklyn Nine Nine, sup actor (nbc)

Modern Family series finale, directing (abc)

15, 3 more than last year. Though about half are for ending shows.

Comedy Series still has not had a network-less slate though I wonder if they’ll keep their one slot next year as Good Place ended; maybe back to Blackish?

Comedy Actor’s held on. Comedy Actress was network-less last year. Comedy Sup Actor resurged with 3 black NBC actors; last year had 0 network shows and all white actors. McKinnon held it down for the supporting actresses. Comedy Directing has been network-less before but now the category is forced to have a multi-cam spot. Comedy Writing has been network-less before.

Drama Series has 0 network shows; whether this has happened before depends on how you count PBS. All 4 Drama acting categories have been network-less before. Network-less writing/directing as before.

It's gotten so much better. Season 3 is it's best season.

It doesn't look bad at all. The lead actor category was far less competetive than the lead actress category. Emmy favourites like Reese Witherspoon and Meritt Weaver were snubbed. The fact that Shira Haas is in is a miracle honestly, considering no one knows who she is. Paul Mescal's category was wide open. Also your acting as if Paul Mescal didn't deserve a nom when he gave an equally great preformance as Daisy Edgar-Jones. Episode 10 was harrowing and it was all becaue of him. It's a shame she didn't get in but it's not that shocking.
