We Found Love.

Bigger hit in the US and globally. In the US, “We Found Love” alone spent more weeks than all of Britney’s number ones combined. It’s the biggest hit by a female artist of the 2010s decade in the US and the twenty-seventh biggest hit of all time. It spent ten weeks at #1 and fourteen weeks in the top 2. Forty-one weeks on the Hot 100 altogether. Over 5.5 million copies sold, almost certified diamond. Has outstreamed the other song on all services too.

Britney does not and will never ever have a song that massive.

Oh god, this is hard. WFL was bigger upon release than BOMT was, but BOMT outlasted it and is more iconic. BOMT is better, but WFL is top-tier too

“WFL” is diamond-eligible Sis and has been for years.

It’s been stuck at 9x platinum since 2015. :rip:

Her label needs to pay RIAA to update.

Commercially and Statistically: We Found Love.

Culturally: Baby, One More Time.

”BOMT” was released 12 years prior to “WFL” and it was a smash hit thus it had more time to build a legacy and become engrained in public consciousness. Also, “BOMT” helped push its parent album to 25M+ copies WW at a time where album sales were enormous.

That said, “WFL” was an immediate smash hit that became the biggest Female hit of the 2010’s on the U.S Decade-End charts and is the #27th biggest hit of all-time in the U.S overall - not to mention it went to number one in 25+ countries WW. It’s now an iconic, Global, dance anthem whose legacy will continue to grow over the years also.

Even Rihanna would say BOMT.

BOMT is probably the biggest pop girl track ever.

Up there with classics like IWALY, Thriller, etc...

It’s impossible to compare them commercially.

Back then singles were made solely to push albums, in the digital era they were on their own.

Also it was 50 times easier to buy a track in the computer than going to the store and getting a cd or cassette with 2-3 tacks as a single.

TBH BOMT is just on another level, Rihanna has a lot more hits than Britney, but she never had one that big.

WFL for all

No one stans BOMT unironically aside from Britney stans, just like all those other lame and embarrassing teeny bopper songs from the late 90s

Both are great songs but it cannot be denied that BOMT is one of the biggest songs ever released

WFL is cute and a 2010s icon but really, it was just another EDM smash. BOMT rewrote the rules and shook up the industry and was a huge hit, and is known by all generations

WFL for all. BOMT, like Britney Spears in general, is just good for nostalgia and a throwback.

Baby One More Time is bigger than all Rihanna's discography. And this poll results approve this. Britney wins.

...Baby One More Time ended up moving more album equivalents than the entire Talk That Talk era. You can combine We Found Leftovers, You Da One, Birthday Cake, Talk That Talk, Where Have You Been and Cockiness and it all doesn’t add up to the total that Britney managed with just one song.

Baby One More Time - 18,640,000 album equivalents

Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded - 18,602,000 album equivalents (Rihanna’s peak)

Talk That Talk - 9,394,000 album equivalents (includes WFL)

Rihanna has always been about disposable features and quick hits and while that’s played out very well for her streaming and digital single sales numbers, it’s stopped her from getting a truly huge signature hit.
