Madonna co-wrote and co-produced all of her album. It was her 3rd studio album and to this day, it's still her biggest selling studio album ever.

All of its singles and videos are classics, still mentioned over 30 years later. All of them hit #1 in many WW main markets

Live To Tell:

#1 - Canada, Greece, Italy, USA. Europe for 2 weeks

Papa Don't Preach:

#1 - Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, UK, USA. Europe for 11 weeks :deadbanana2:

True Blue:

#1 - Canada, Ireland, UK. Europe for 1 week, replacing Papa Don't Preach :deadbanana2:

Open Your Heart:

#1 - USA

La Isla Bonita:

#1 - Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Poland, Switzerland, UK. Europe for 4 weeks.

The music video is also played over 400,000 times a day on Youtube in 2020 and the song has over 100M plays on Spotify currently.

Legendary!! It's also one of the most successful female eras of the 80's, along with Madonna's own Like a Virgin and Whitney's 2 studio albums from the same decade. :jonny6:

It didn’t. True Blue is the biggest selling female album of the 80’s.

i meant in the us. 10M compared to the 7M TB sold. I have always been team LAV > TB so I wondered if the classic status of the former has help its catalog sales.

The fact it topped the Billboard European Albums chart for 34 weeks :jonny5:

La Isla Bonita being the #1 European single of 1987

Europe always stays winning ugh.  Papa Don't Preach is also a BOP

It became the world's top-selling album of 1986, as well as the best-selling album of the 1980s by a female artist.
