Achilles. Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Ready to party with yall in the conversion therapy camp.
Hug Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I am so upset that I can't add links to my sig via clickable gradient text unless I do it manually. I could also make each word a new color in the gradient, but not only is that effort, but I don't really have many words. I just want "twitter x soundcloud" with gradient text and you can click the words and go to those. :( I could also add the songwriter's thread, I suppose.
Hug Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Just now, Gastrodonatella said: how do i even get to my edit sig option Up at the top, with your avi and those 4 icons, you click the first one and go to account settings. Then on the left hand side of that page will be an option for editing your signature.

Hug Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I keep thinking Jackson's "album" is called Fatphobic when I see it, which doesn't make sense considering Photophobic doesn't begin with an F.

fountain Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Hi Round #6 - The Record Label ChallengeMost writers probably know about writing camps - a lot of your faves probably use them - where songwriters are tasked with curating songs specifically designed for the label's artist. This week, each judge will heading a record label looking for song submissions. We each have a label, an artist, and a brief of what we are looking for. Labels: Wake With The Moon Records This female popstar has never been afraid to speak her mind, but has unfortunately been tied up in a restrictive contract with a rival label. She's had a string of pop hits, usually working with the same producers and writers, but has now signed with this independent label, ready to make her mark on the music industry and show everybody who she is and what she stands for. With all the recent upset in the world, she's ready to take aim and lash out. We are looking for politically charged songs, we're looking for anger, frustration, sadness, heartbreak. Some might even call this her dark era. She doesn't mind if the songs rhyme or not, but she wants each song to have a message. Her demographic is usually teenagers, but she would also like to appeal to an older audience, with more mature content. So if you think you can write a song with great social commentary, breaks a heart, or pisses somebody off - then please send it our way! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Label name: Birthright Ent. Briefing Our client was formerly a member of a boy group, called One Destination, but he is looking to branch out of the charming boy image made for him by his label and move on to a more grown style. Our client, named Kayn, wants to not only be seen as an adult, but be seen as an artist. He believes his fame as a former boy group member will give him all the push he needs to see commercial success, so he is not looking for commercially-friendly music. The opposite holds true for Kayn; he wants something that would take critics and the general public for surprise. He is not afraid to get conceptual, but he doesn’t want his work to be seen as “quirky” or “weird”, but rather “dark” and “edgy”. One topic he specifically wants to avoid is the death of family members, as it’s something that hits too close to home for him and is not yet ready to talk about. Something to take note of is that Kayn recently came out as bisexual, and he wants to make a statement saying he’s not afraid, yet at the same time, he wants people to know that it’s only a part of him, not all that he is. It’s also unknown to the public, but Kayn had issues with drugs for a while. He would like to address this issue on his upcoming album. As for the sound he is looking for, dark R&B and avant garde style music is what he is aiming for, but he also has an appreciation for acts such as The Weeknd who can handle darker subject matter in subtle ways. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fat Rat Records Fat Rat Records has recently signed singer-songwriter Margherita Peesa to their label after being impressed by her talent. Sadly, Margherita has had to put her songwriting career aside and she has recently entered a very emotional period in her life and feels that what she is going through is too personal and raw for her to currently write about and share. The label and her however agree that songs of a general emotional theme conveying the writer's inner thoughts and feelings would be good for her upcoming release, that way she can put her current emotion into the songs presented, rather than fake it and try singing the lighthearted stye she is currently known for. Songs should be personal in detail, vulnerable, sentimental yet not necessarily dark or sad in nature. Possibly confessional, romantic, or nostalgic themes. The label has noted recent songs such as Piece by Piece, She Keeps Me Warm, Someone Like You, Back to Black, Ribs, Grins, as possible examples of the standard they are looking for. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angry Mom Records Angry Mom Records, despite the name, are looking for lighthearted, relatable, pop style material for their new artist Danielle Atme. Danielle simply wants to become the next big pop star and tour the world, and the label are promoting her and such. They are looking for catchy material that will get stuck in peoples heads and get constant radio exposure. Nothing too heavy or controversial, Danielle is not looking for Grammys, she just wants to have fun. Simple. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rules: Pick one label and write a song accurate to the brief sent out! Don't forget to state which label when you send your entryPM your entries to me by this time! Contestants: @8thPrince @Jackson @funnellegs @ughgabriel @Achilles. @SaintWest @UFO @ceremonials @Aurora @Kunst @TheCheetahwings @Corsola @jpow Due to the drop outs and no eliminations there will not be comebacks this round. Next round will be the last comeback opportunity.
SaintWest Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 This round has me shook. I'm so excited. I already have so many ideas. I think I'd really do well submitting for Angry Mom Records, but I feel entries in that category aren't going to stand a chance against some of the other record labels. Ahhhh.
