Make sure that every line and image is useful for the entire song and isn't just taking up space. Make sure that your imagery isn't so sporadic as well. I'm really trying to use ya'lls comments from the past weeks to improve, but I want to also hear what you'd suggest as of now. stick to one key theme for your imagery to make your entry more focused and polished more unique concepts, your last song wasn't bad but the concept of your mind not being at ease is charted territory, it's the more unique and interesting concepts which generally get the higher scores - you could do this by either developing a clear narrative in an entry, or tackling something which is rarer to be talked about than things such as doubt, strength and survival a bit more individuality as to stand out, in your last entry you used a lot of generic devices (ashes, gasoline, porcelain, key, flames, chained, doubt, strength, survival, shore, sun, waves, wind, water - this kind of lends in to the above points too, if you look at this list you can kind of see it's rather scattered in terms of theme and standard in terms of concept) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
