CG was just certified 8x platinum so it's far from being diamond

 

ET was certified 8x platinum 3 years ago and it still has decent streaming (especially on Spotify), that's why we think it's close to the diamond certification

I read up on Chartmasters and their CSPC the other day, and it made me want to attempt to find what I'm calling Katy's Combined Overall Streaming Total (i.e. COST). This would encompass not only her YouTube/Spotify totals (inclusive of other versions i.e. remixes and acoustics) but also factor in other non-Spotify on-demand streaming services, multi-performances (i.e. Super Bowl Halftime Show, Rise and Roar at the DNC).

 

It took a while, and the data is far from being as complete as it could be (there are many fan uploads with tens of millions of views which I haven't taken into account etc.) but here is a better look into the overall popularity of Katy's songs across all streaming platforms and uploads combined. There are some rather interesting results that may vary from the numbers and/or rankings one might expect, too!

The holy trinity obviously remain unscathed, but Roar and Dark Horse stay unimaginably close with a COST of over 3.2B each. This is simply incredible, for an artist to have two songs of this magnitude. It is very possible that the dynamic duo will eventually close in on a 7B COST just from these two songs.

 

The gap between Firework and Last Friday Night seems to be gradually widening again after the latter proved a formidable opponent in the race to 1B with the former on YouTube. Somewhat surprisingly, Chained To The Rhythm rounds out Katy's Top 5 (as lead artist) with a COST over 1.1B and counting, reinforcing its status as a true global smash.

 

Hot N Cold and Wide Awake have also crossed the 1B threshold, with with The One That Got Away, This Is How We Do and Swish Swish not only close to a 1B COST, but rounding out Katy's Top 10 (as lead artist).
