Today is Elizabeth's last day to endorse Bernie, not that it will make much of a difference tomorrow but ...if she sits it out or endorses Biden, its over for her , even her supporters who say she is a true progressive won't be able to defend her. I predicted long ago that she will never endorse, but today is the day to see....

Tbh as someone who really likes Liz and her personality, and what she stands for, if she Didn’t wait until today to endorse Bernie because today it’ll bring hype for tomorrow - then I’ll be sorely disappointed. Today is a break or make moment for her and the progressive movement. It’s so disheartening to see Bernie being pushed back by the establishment like this.

I actually enjoy Bernie lashings when done from the left :gaycat5: especially these days when he is flopping badly but still going around saying Joe is his friend and can beat Trump...:rip:

The left as it exists today would not exist without Bernie. He didn't run a perfect campaign but he has had EVERY single conventional and established interest against him for like 6 years. Don't go too hard on him. A huge part of this campaign has ALWAYS been about building a movement that will outlive Bernie himself, which he's been able to do unimaginably well.

I definitelly think people (including myself) are placing far too much emphasis on the (national) electoral aspect of the movement when its arguably the least important part. Not me, us means something.

Third party / write-in girls, I think we just found our messaging tactic.

How's the squad's re-election going?  Do we have any polls?

I can't find any relevant recent polling at a quick glance, but I don't think any of them are currently considered to be at risk of losing a primary challenge or their general election.

Because I have zero interest in volunteering for Biden, I did some research over the weekend on the candidates running for senate in my state (to unseat Joni Ernst :pukey:), found the most progressive candidate, and just signed up to start volunteering for their campaign. If any of y'all are in states with vulnerable senate seats, I suggest looking into the primaries so you can help get a progressive into the race!

I’m legitimately waiting for videos from Cenk Uyger and Emma Vigeland (both of whom I love) with their reactions and dismay at Warren being a sellout.

Same

Even after all the mess I was convinced she would back Bernie. I think it's because she sees it as a sinking ship & is maybe looking for policy concessions from Biden, but still, its completely unacceptable. The way she decided to just willingly become everything the bros said she was its truly stunning

There were recent mayoral, city council seats etc in my area that past and got good candidates in. My representative (Tonko), is alright. He doesnt face a serious challenge primary wise or in the general so not much going on for me. Several good congressional candidates in NYC though like Lauren Ashcraft who everyone should check out and donate to if they can!

The way I would actively protest Liz if she ever decides to run again for President.  :gaycat5:

This is where my head is at at the moment. I’m not sending Joe Biden a cent of my money, especially given that Bloomberg is backing him and Biden is allegedly considering to give him a position in his cabinet. He doesn’t need my money (nor has he earned it). So, instead, I’m going to submit my political efforts to helping downballot races. I’m hoping the more progressive candidate in the primary race to be McConnell’s opponent wins, but whoever wins will be getting my support because McConnell’s gotta go.

There's a progressive candidate against McConnell? I was wondering if you were going to volunteer for Ms. McGrath even though you don't like ha  Seems like she probably has raised the most money/media attention and I assumed she was the only serious contender.

The "Back To Normal is just MAGA for white libs" quote I've been seeing would never resonate with Dems, but man is it true :rip:

I made the mistake of reading the replies under Bernie's "the coronavirus vaccine should be free" tweet and it made me so depressed about the state of humanity :rip: The overwhelming response in the replies are basically saying that it's unFaiR that Americans should have to foot the bill so that everyone can get the vaccine. Like they are quite literally saying "I shouldn't have to pay 4% more in taxes to ensure that thousands of innocent people don't die from a widespread disease", just in different words.

I truly don't understand how some people can go through life viewing themselves as good, moral people when they hold views like that.

Blame capitalism its diseased propaganda on the majority who are taught to lift yourself by the bootstraps (only the white people get the shoelaces for free while the rest of us have to make shift with ropes or strings). :cm: \

Truth is that empathy is a lost emotion artform. It's rarely taught and even then the few of us empaths were born this way. it just sucks to see how fargone the majority are. :celestial5:

The fact that taxpayers are the ones who fund medical research and development but having the American people reap the benefits of their contributions by getting free vaccinations which would help everyone by minimizing both the possibility of a national epidemic and the long term health care costs that would be incurred as a result is out of the question :rip:

We literally pay the drug industry and the private health insurance industry to profit off denying us care, and suggesting that maybe that isn’t optimal is the extremely radical position in America. :bibliahh: God help this country.

It’s a bitter relief to finally be put out of our misery tomorrow. All the Bernie camp’s hopes on that one state. :bibliahh:I never envisioned we would end up here, bc of a refusal to highlight a fact.

The mess on twitter, and on the independent media shows.
