On January 12, 1999 ...Baby one more time was released debuting at #1 and eventually becoming the best selling debut by a female artist in the US, best selling teenage album of all time and with one album she became the most successful teenage artist taking the record from Leann rimes and brandy.


14x platinum in the US and 30m+ shipped worldwide 

 

It spawned multiple #1 hits WW including the lead single which hit #1 in every country it charted a feat less than 20 songs in history share.

 

This album won countless awards and is cemented  in pop music history.

 

lets praise the game changing album which set a new modernized blueprint and was essential to breaking the teen pop female curse for longevity.

Favorite childhood memory:

 

well I was 14 into rap: dmx jay z beastie boys lauryn hill missy lil Kim biggie and Tupac.

 

i never acknowledged pop other than MJ Prince George Michael Madonna whitney mariah celine but they were more my parents music.

 

baby one more time opened my eyes to pop.

i was white knuckling and resisting and then I had to go to NY for the end of summer and making the video on mtv was playing you drive me crazy right before I left for my flight.

 

when I saw that episode, I became a full on stan.

 

she transformed me into a pop lover.

 

Thank you Britney for opening my eyes beyond R&b and hip hop.

 

so glad I experienced her in her prime :party:

Man I can imagine what'd it be like if I was old enough when this came out, and to be this iconic 20+ years later 

 

The WORLDWIDE domination by a DEBUT single whew - it basically was top 1-5 on every year end chart
