Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There – A classic. One of my favorite SG songs.

The 1975 - Somebody Else – One of the best singles of the 10s. Should've smashed in the US.

SHINee - Nice – :chile:

Chairlift - I Belong in Your Arms – A lil basic and dated. Should've gone with something from Moth.

Sunnyhill - The Grasshopper Song –Fun.

Girlicious - Maniac – Gay.

Sugababes - Round, Round – Masc gay.

TLC - Creep – SUCH a great song. Poor No Scrubs.

Spice Girls - Wannabe – A classic, but it's kinda annoying and overplayed at this point.

I can't for the life of me remember what the "nep" stands for. It must have been generated by Spotfiy, lmao.

Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There

I don't hate it. I'd probably even lightly tap my foot to it if I heard while browsing radio stations.

The 1975 - Somebody Else

It is...a song. With notes. And chords. And lyrics.

SHINee - View

This was SUCH a moment when it came out. I love the MV aesthetic and of course the song itself is a big K-Classic. :smitten:

Chairlift - I Belong in Your Arms

This is gonna sound random, but this reminded me of Maniac at the beginning. (The 1983 hit, not the Girlicious song in this round) Anyways, love that song, and this is alright.

Sunnyhill - The Grasshopper Song

Songs that mix string instruments and synths are a weakness for me. :skull:

Girlicious - Maniac

This guitar sound in pop songs pisses me off. Thankfully it's not JUST the guitar and I stan electropop so... :smitten:

Sugababes - Round, Round
The production on this song slaps a bit wait...

TLC - Creep

Lemme just give the most gay criticism I can and say I wish this was more explosive. I get that's not the point of this song but...! The production is great however.

Spice Girls - Wannabe

I remember knowing this song for years without knowing what the name of it was. I think a lot of people relate. :dancehall: Anyways, it's helplessly catchy.

My first option being PANNED ahh thank you to whoever snatched it

Halfway through group 2, and they are already way better than group 1.

"Say You'll Be There" by Spice Girls - Gold standard for girl groups. This will always stand out to me as the song (and video) where each girl really began to show an individual personality and sound. It's fun and infectious, and everything I'd want out of the Cool Britannia era!

"Somebody Else" by The 1975 - ugh, these lyrics triggered me. Thankfully, the rhythm and tempo was just right and kept my feet tapping. I would add this to my playlist if it wasn't uncomfortably relatable.

"View" by SHINee - I was worried about this one, but found myself turning it up as the second verse came around. It's a good hype song.

"I Belong in Your Arms" by Chairlift - I had to listen to this song twice because I wasn't sure how to feel about it. I like the cumulative production, and how straightforward it is lyrically. This is not something I'd personally listen to, but it vibes well.

"The Grasshopper Song" by Sunny Hill - This is a hilariously random entry. It's weird in the right ways though, I kinda like it. LINGA LINGA LINGA LINGA LINGA LING. That random dude's verse at the end takes some points away, though. I said.. whoever sang that part, your mom's a hoe.

"Maniac" by Girlicious - This brought everything to a screeching halt. Girlicious has better songs.

"Round Round" by Sugababes - My problem with Sugababes has always been them constantly switching between being overly mature or awkwardly brainless. This is one of the times when they hit the sweet spot of being mature with a fun sound. Absolutely love this song!

"Creep" by  TLC - I didn't like this song when I was younger, and thought I'd appreciate it now that I'm older. Nope. It's fundamentally a fine song I guess, but it's sooo boring to me.

"Wannabe" by Spice Girls - What is there to say? It's a classic. Not my favourite Spice Girls song though, not even in my top 20. It's a really safe karaoke song.

"Heads Will Roll" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Reminds me of a commercial for H&M or something. It's fun, though.

"Pure Shores" by All Saints - UGH. If I was in group 2 this would have been my NUMBER ONE without question. You pretty much can't go wrong with All Saints, but this of course was the golden option. It's not just nostalgia either, this is such a technically fantastic song. So hypnotizing, so chilling. Milestone for girl groups.

"Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" by ABBA - Honestly, I prefer the movie version. Not only does it have more energetic delivery, but it doesn't have that looong instrumental. Anyway, what is there to say about such a classic? Groovy af.

"When You Were Young" by The Killers - This makes me wish I had thought about my own entry a little more. The Killers was a great choice, Brandon's voice just hits me in some kinda way. Great writer, too! This song is timeless.

"Apologize" by OneRepublic - I always disliked this song. It's boring and grating. The version without Timbaland is even worse. First song I had to skip.

"Just Like That" by The Aces - This isn't really doing much for me. It's hard to even generate an opinion on it, because the song itself lacks a strong point or any personality.

"Kiss and Make Up" by BLACKPINK & Dua Lipa - It's fun. I'm not a fan of the song switching languages halfway through, even if it is featuring a kpop act. I like the concept of the song though, and the production is cute.

"Myth" by Beach House - Chill song. Good vocals. Nothing much else.

"Dancing Queen" by ABBA - Unlike with GGG, I actually don't mind ABBA's version compared to the film. It's a classic, and there isn't much to say about that. Better karaoke choice than Wannabe.

Had I been in group 2, my ranking would have been:
1. y. all saints - pure shore
2. w. the killers - when you were young
3. r. abba - dancing queen
4. x. abba - gimme gimme gimme!
5. z. yeah yeah yeahs - heads will roll
6. t. dua lipa & blackpink - kiss & make up
7. u. the aces - just like that
8. s. beach house - myth
9. v. one republic - apologize

Spice Girls - Say You'll Be There – I never heard of this song in my life I only know wannabe by them I- .. but this is a BOP and better than the overrated song wannabe

The 1975 - Somebody Else – YUPPPPPP this is one of my favorite songs ever. it's just so beautiful and amazing I wish I didn't forget about the 1975 when I sent my entry :(

SHINee - Nice – super generic kpop song (even tho I love generic kpop songs but since this is a boygroup I dont like it sorry)

Chairlift - I Belong in Your Arm - it's ok

Sunnyhill - The Grasshopper Song – not this DATED ass boring song, could've at least sent 2ne1 if you were gonna go this route

Girlicious - Maniac – kinda dated but it's actually fun and bops hard unlike the song that I just listened to

Sugababes - Round, Round – it's cute but doesn't do much for me tbh

TLC - Creep – another classic from tlc even tho no scrubs is more universally liked sorry @Clueless

Spice Girls - Wannabe – after listening to these other entries, this actually didn't give me a headache and made me bop a little
