SLIME Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 your well of knowledge >> I know a chunk of these of course but far from all. Kinda miss my high school days of bumping New York radio stations and how I would naturally absorb a lot more of these type songs. Always working now too. You should make a playlist when all done tbh. If Adorn isn't #1...
K$Ellie Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 oui is quite cute Blue Light and LMK are too low, hope to see some more Kelegend songs here (Rewind) Girl, PrimeTime, In Time and The Worst are serves Earned It, Love On Top, Apple Cherry, Watch n Learn and Hotline Bling are good too

We went from "Say Aah" (almost made the cut) to "Don't" Like even current Urban AC is so different from earlier decade cuts.
MP2K Posted December 26, 2019 Author Posted December 26, 2019 40. “Words I Don't Remember” by How To Dress Well (2014) 39. “Rewind” by Kelela (2015) 38. “No Guidance (feat. MP2K Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 20. “Boo'd Up” by Ella Mai (2018) I go back and forth with this one because of the overplay and overhype (and I can’t stand her tone tbqh). But I would be biased not include it though. We love a throwback feel and the timing was just right during the current state of whispers over dark sounds and Chris Brown. 19. “Permission” by Ro James (2015) What a sly power move, hit us with a feminist anthem on your debut. 18. “Motivation (feat. Lil Wayne)” by Kelly Rowland (2011) Her optimus prime and probably the best Contemporary R&B song of 2011. 17. “Redbone” by Childish Gambino (2016) If you’re able to pull off a classic sound that sounds like a remake but it’s not, then this will get you ranked among the greats. 16. “Climax” by Usher (2012) Just when you thought Usher lost it, he delivers one last defining song in his catalog. In the world of Miguel’s, Abel’s and Frank’s, Usher had to experiment to the young bucks know he can do it to. 15. “jasmine” by Jai Paul (2011) Mr. Mysterio served us and then ghosted us. 14. “Coming Down” by The Weeknd (2011) One of the first songs from him I’ve ever heard, and I was afraid I’d never catch up with his material but surely, I did before he became a ‘starboy’. This is one of his sexiest yet dark records. 13. “Drunk in Love (feat. Jay-Z)” by Beyoncé (2014) “Drunk In Love” is full of soundbites and has a fun hyphy beat. We love when Bey let’s her wig down. 12. “There Goes My Baby” by Usher (2010) Obviously not as captivating, but perhaps this was his "Nice and Slow" and "Burn," slow jam of the decade. It’s what we needed after being supersaturated with his club hits. 11. “Too Deep” by dvsn (2016) Created one of the sexiest songs this decade using simple sounds, melodies and elements that were shared across the past three decades.
MP2K Posted December 27, 2019 Author Posted December 27, 2019 (edited) 10. “Sure Thing” by Miguel (2010) Miguel penned this song as a pledge of his devotion to an ex-girlfriend after cheating on her. But it sounds so good you will look past that fact and think of it as an ode to a current bae he’s madly in love with. This was a preview of his first spin with his Prince influence we all love. 09. “Best Part (feat. H.E.R.)” by Daniel Caesar (2017) The new class delivered a praiseworthy duet; no leverage from a veteran at all. Just two fresh new artists that had the ability to strike a chord throughout today’s music with this classic. 08. “Running” by Jessie Ware (2012) Don’t sleep on the good British sis, I play this almost every day. So sultry sand captivating. 07. “Get You (feat. Kali Uchis)” by Daniel Caesar (2017) As problematic as Daniel is, you must admit he’s one of the best debuting males of the later half of this decade. Just back to back to back classic in the making records. 06. “A Message” by Kelela (2015) So many to pick from but this cuts so much deeper than the rest. Kelela has been a blessing to the 2010s. 05. “Pyramids” by Frank Ocean (2012) This is like one of those Dual SIM Card phones – one line is for the baby mom and the other side is for the hoes. 04. “Body Party” by Ciara (2013) Who knows what Ciara wants to be as an artist currently? Despite the corny soccer mom and safe route she’s been taking as of late… we know she has it in her to deliver what she does best and that’s some good ole R&B. The 2000s had “Promise” and the 2010s had “Body Party”. Hopefully in 2020 she comes back home. 03. “Cranes in the Sky” by Solange (2017) It’s like Solange knew what we needed in this dark point in time. Just… beautiful. 02. “Two Weeks” by FKA twigs (2012) I mean… 01. “Adorn” by Miguel (2012) Do I have to explain? Edited December 27, 2019 by MP2K cuz

Pink Matter Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Need that R&B goodness! Would also appreciate a playlist if it's not too much trouble. It would take me forever to list all the songs I like cuz there's way too many. Top 10 is excellent (only tracks I'm not familiar with are A Message and Running but I'll be sure to listen to both). Adorn as the best R&B song of the decade , we love to see it
