potent Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 TDCC's album appearing here Good to see them getting some love, their best is still Tourist History though imo but Satellite is such a bop. I didn't listen to LSD's album but Thunderclouds and No New Friends were pretty good. Need to hear Fever Dream too, I'm obsessed with Wars right now. Cuz I Love You and Orphans I don't like Post Malone but Circles is okay.

Arabesque is a stun and I consider it much better than Orphans, but loving to see both Lizzo's title track showcased her great vocal performance so I appreciate that a lot too STFU! as you've said was unexpected so the shock made me hate it a bit on first listen, but now I consider it yet another stand out in her career, can't wait for what's next 'STFU!' is going to shape the sound for her new album and I'm really exited for this and mixture of pop and rock can be really great if she done it right. Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 BEST SONGS OF 2019: #40 - #31 40) SANCTUARY – JOJI (Released: June 14, 2019) Quote The song has grown on me a LOT this year and also, his singing is getting better lmao Spotify Youtube Apple Music 39) BLINDING LIGHTS – THE WEEKND (Released: November 29, 2019) Quote This song is miles better that 'Heartless' and I want this song to be blasted by radios every hour so people can bop to this masterpiece. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 38) BREAK UP WITH YOUR GIRLFRIEND, I'M BORED – ARIANA GRANDE (Released: February 8, 2019) Quote This song is also ridiculously catchy; every single note is an earworm, especially the chorus. I can't help it. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 37) NOIR – SUNMI (Released: March 4, 2019) Quote This track brings all the catchiness in its production that I want for K-Pop song. She can be really good when she is trying tbh. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 36) MILIONÀRIA + DIO$ NO$ LIBRE DEL DINERO – ROSALÍA (Released: July 3, 2019) Quote I can't decided which two songs that I like the most because they really compliment each other. She DID that. Spotify & Spotify Youtube Apple Music & Apple Music 35) 2099 (FEAT. TROYE SIVAN) – CHARLI XCX (Released: September 10, 2019) Quote The synth on the chorus is transcendental. I can see myself in the future driving flying cars while listening to this song on the radio. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 34) GOBLIN – SULLI (Released: June 29, 2019) Quote The song to me is the perspective of her illness and anxieties, but also her own personal thoughts and feeling and it makes me appreciate the song even more (especially after her passing away). Rest in Peace Sulli . Spotify Youtube Apple Music 33) THE WHO (FEAT. EYAS) – JPEGMAFIA (Released: April 3, 2019) Quote This song is Incredibly comfy, beautiful and nostalgic. Feels like you're just at the end of summer and are reflecting on how good the summer was. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 32) TEMPO (FEAT. MISSY ELLIOTT) – LIZZO (Released: July 26, 2019) Quote This song is f*cking dope. Can Missy Elliott just get involved in every beat this coming decade already? Spotify Youtube Apple Music 31) MINE – SLAYYYTER (Released: May 3, 2019) Quote This song is straight up come from the greatness of early 2000s dance-pop song. I love this sh*t goddamnit. Spotify Youtube Apple Music
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 BEST SONGS OF 2019: #30 - #26 30) NEVER REALLY OVER – KATY PERRY (Released: May 31, 2019) Quote This is one of the best Katy Perry song EVER. Even though it received a minor success on the charts, I'm sure it will have a cult following in the future. That's how good the song is. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 29) OCEAN OF TEARS – CAROLINE POLACHEK (Released: July 24, 2019) Quote I'm so glad I discovered Caroline Polachek this year because her music made my day better. This is amazing. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 28) LOVER – TAYLOR SWIFT (Released: August 16, 2019) Quote The bridge of the song is literally the highlight of the song. F*cking yes please. This is Taylor Swift that we love. Her lyrics in this song is easily one of her best. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 27) IT MIGHT BE TIME – TAME IMPALA (Released: October 28, 2019) Quote I literally cried when they announced new singles & album next year because I'm so in love with 'Currents' and I waited for a long time for their follow-up album. This song is a classic in the making. Period. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 26) TOO MUCH – CARLY RAE JEPSEN (Released: May 9, 2019) Quote This is one of my favourite singles she's released this year. Her mind is actually amazed me. Spotify Youtube Apple Music
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 BEST ALBUMS OF 2019: #40 - #31 40) LATE NIGHT FEELINGS – MARK RONSON (Released: June 21, 2019) Quote Mark's Late Night Feelings is a collection of bold, brilliant and genuinely interesting pop music that will make you dance and cry in equal measure. This is a refined, classy set of modern Pop songs. Subtle traces of Funk and Disco are hidden in the bass and percussion throughout but you could miss them amongst the impenetrably fresh production. My Recommendations: True Blue, Nothing Breaks Like a Heart & Late Night Feelings Spotify Apple Music 39) LOVE + FEAR – MARINA (Released: April 26, 2019) Quote Unlike her previous work, Love + Fear is bland, and outright boring for the most part. But the concept of this album is great, It seems simple but It's really powerful and Inspiring. There are certainly some production with sounds that are really new for her. Overall, I am really enjoying the album. Definitely one of my guilty pleasures. My Recommendations: To Be Human, End of the Earth & Handmade Heaven Spotify Apple Music 38) FOREVHER – SHURA (Released: August 16, 2019) Quote This is one the best pop album that has come out this year. It's so good that even best songs off of her last album would not be anywhere close top 5 of this album. I highly recommend you to check out this album because it's definitely one of best albums that you will hear this year and it worth so much of your time. My Recommendations: Religion (U Can Lay Your Hands on Me), Skyline, Be Mine & Side Effects Spotify Apple Music 37) WASTELAND, BABY! – HOZIER (Released: March 1, 2019) Quote After five years since his debut album, Wasteland, Baby! plans on trying to be a more optimistic project than the self titled album, but also to be more accessible blues-rock tones in a time where rock music is currently being desaturated by the day by electronic noise rather than actual melodies or hooks and this album definitely does all of that. My Recommendations: Nina Cried Power, Would That I & Wasteland, Baby! Spotify Apple Music 36) SUCKER PUNCH – SIGRID (Released: March 8, 2019) Quote Nearly a perfect pop album with almost overly refined production. Sigrid's voice is wonderful. This is definitely what pop music should be at its best. My Recommendations: Strangers, Sight of You & Business Dinners Spotify Apple Music 35) EVERYTHING NOT SAVED WILL BE LOST PART 2 – FOALS (Released: October 18, 2019) Quote On Part 2 of their double album "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost," Foals take a more rock-oriented direction compared to their first part. This album didn't disappointed, its a solid Foals album and also much closer in style to their earlier material than Part 1 was. This is perhaps one reason why there were two separate releases. Focusing on this particular album, it's well put together across the board, songwriting, performance and production. My Recommendations: Black Bull,10,000 Ft. & The Runner Spotify Apple Music 34) CLARITY – KIM PETRAS (Released: June 28, 2019) Quote This album is not quite as endearing as her Halloween stuff or anything she’s released but at the same time the album has everything on it is good. Wish in her next album she's improving her songwriting skills LMAO. My Recommendations: Icy, Sweet Spot & Do Me Spotify Apple Music 33) FANCY YOU – TWICE (Released: April 22, 2019) Quote I used to think this album was just OK but it's grown on me so much. Fancy is seriously the best thing JYP has ever done and one of the greatest pieces of musical composition released this decade. The rest of the tracks are solid too. My Recommendations: Fancy, Turn It Up & Stuck in My Head Spotify Apple Music 32) TURN OFF THE LIGHT – KIM PETRAS (Released: October 1, 2019) Quote Compare to 'Clarity', she takes a huge leap forward, production-wise, in the songwriting department as well as the overall album flow. This album more or less is a concept album as the horror and dark synth elements are all over the record, musically and lyrically. Kim Petras already sounds like an established pop artist with this album. My Recommendations: Massacre, There Will Be Blood & Wrong Turn Spotify Apple Music 31) WESTERN STARS – BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN (Released: June 14, 2019) Quote A fine return by Springsteen, a much mellower but a very mature sounding album. What I liked was that Springsteen sounds really good and the overall feel is a bit like Tunnel of love, specially the slower songs. Lot of life in all these songs, the variety of instrumentation and especially the strings give it a feel of romanticism mixed with the small town Western vibe. My Recommendations: There Goes My Miracle, Hitch Hikin' & Western Stars Spotify Apple Music
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 28, 2019 Author Posted December 28, 2019 BEST ALBUMS OF 2019: #30 - #26 30) HEARD IT IN A PAST LIFE – MAGGIE ROGERS (Released: January 18, 2019) Quote While not extraordinarily special, this album is generally pretty fun to listen to. It's also a bit surprising how well a song that came out 2 and a half years ago still fit pretty well in this album. If you're a fan of her work so far, you'll pretty much get what you'd expected plus a couple of tiny surprises here and there. My Recommendations: Alaska, Say It & On + Off Spotify Apple Music 29) [X X] – LOONA (Released: February 19, 2019) Quote Aiming to complete a cycle, '[X X]' is a repackage of their debut EP '[+ +]', showcasing six new tracks, mirroring those with the other six previously released. [X X] complements [+ +]. Both sides merge successfully, leaving the impression of a complete work. My Recommendations: Butterfly, Curiosity & Satellite Spotify Apple Music 28) EVERYDAY LIFE – COLDPLAY (Released: November 22, 2019) Quote Coldplay release something bold, but not too over-indulgent. 'Everyday Life' is a pleasant surprise. No track really falters too much here, whether that be in sound, lyrical content or themes. They have proved they can come out with something bold but also very enjoyable. I may not find myself returning to all tracks outside of the context of the album, but as an album it is a very welcome addition to their discography, and quite possibly their best album of the decade. My Recommendations: Everyday Life, Trouble in Town & Arabesque Spotify Apple Music 27) PONY – ORVILLE PECK (Released: March 22, 2019) Quote The album cycles between great country ballads and surprisingly good post-punk filler. The songs are well-written but his commanding presence is what sells them. i don't even care whose gimmick i'm falling for at this point. The gay cowboy should be a thing for 2020s. Period. My Recommendations: Dead of Night, Nothing Fades Like the Light & Roses Are Falling Spotify Apple Music 26) AMO – BRING ME THE HORIZON (Released: January 25, 2019) Quote This album is simply lots of fun. The band itself knew how divided fans will become, but they just don't care. They dropped a fun, pretty innovative in its own rights instead of becoming yet another generic metalcore act that drops copy+paste records, they did something new. My Recommendations: Nihilist Blues, I Don't Know What to Say & Wonderful Life Spotify Apple Music

witness1.3 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Blinding Lights is soooooo much better than Heartless BUWYGIB is bop I could never get into 2099 I loved Tempo but for some reason it aged like milk for me Never Really Over deserves to be higher and I agree that it’s definitely one of her best songs. Shakespeare or Mozart just weren’t doing it! Lover Too Much was actually my least favorite single from Dedicated I liked Love + Fear but your standouts were all like my least favorite. Where’s True and Enjoy Your Life!? Love Sucker Punch, Clarity, Heard It In A Past Life
potent Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Blinding Lights and It Might Be Time are my faves from this set 2099 and Tempo are also good! Forevher, Wasteland Baby, and Sucker Punch in a row I didn't listen to the Foals, Maggie, or Coldplay in full, but I liked some of the singles.

Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 BEST SONGS OF 2019: #25 - #21 25) DON'T START NOW – DUA LIPA (Released: November 1, 2019) Quote Everything about the song is soo goddamn good. This is her 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' in terms of quality. Yeah, she is already in her 'Fever' era. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 24) SO HOT YOU'RE HURTING MY FEELINGS – CAROLINE POLACHEK (Released: September 16, 2019) Quote This song is a pop perfection. I can't describe how much i love this song, from intro, verses, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge. Everything is so beautiful. I hope next year she can pulling 'Lizzo' and her songs become mainstream. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 23) CON ALTURA (FEAT. EL GUINCHO) – ROSALÍA & J BALVIN (Released: March 28, 2019) Quote The idea of J Balvin and Rosalía getting together on a reggaeton track used to make my stomach churn, but listening to the final product, I love it so much. I love the weird and spacey production, the minimalism beat, and the duo's chemistry with each other. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 22) STAY WITH ME – HATCHIE (Released: April 2, 2019) Quote This is the first song that I've ever listen to Hatchie and wow I can't believe I missed this the very time this was released. Spotify Youtube Apple Music 21) HOLY TERRAIN (FEAT. FUTURE) – FKA TWIGS (Released: September 9, 2019) Quote It's probably fair to call this the worst song on Magdalene. Even though it's the worst song, but the song is probably one of the best compared to other artists best effort. Spotify Youtube Apple Music
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 BEST ALBUMS OF 2019: #25 - #21 25) THE PRACTICE OF LOVE – JENNY HVAL (Released: September 13, 2019) Quote Lots of cool stuff going on in this album. It's a unique mix off synth-pop, trance, and experimentation sound. All around it's a lot of unique & interesting elements including collaborations with great musicians and somehow all brought together in harmony. My Recommendations: Six Red Cannas, Ashes to Ashes & Accident Spotify Apple Music 24) NO GEOGRAPHY – THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS (Released: April 12, 2019) Quote This album feels like a combination incredibly nostalgic sounds of late '90s club music. The album It's not fully representative of all the great things this group offers, but it's a nice combination of old sounds with new, progressive structures. I like their post-'90s stuff more than most fans so I wouldn't immediately call this their best in decades, but it is an excellent album from a group that has balanced evolving their sound while staying true to their roots. My Recommendations: No Geography, Eve of Destruction & Free Yourself Spotify Apple Music 23) IMMUNITY – CLAIRO (Released: August 2, 2019) Quote This album is laid back and intimate, which is exactly the kind of stuff I love. I've heard that this album goes in a different direction from what people expected but overall, this album was very relaxing to listen to. It's like sitting down with a cup of warm, sweet coffee and gazing out. My Recommendations: Bags, Alewife & North Spotify Apple Music 22) EVERYTHING NOT SAVED WILL BE LOST PART 1 – FOALS (Released: March 8, 2019) Quote On the first part of their two part album, titled "Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost," Foals deliver an incredibly dance-y and catchy synth-infused rock record. I am a massive fan of the instrumental work that they did here. It wasn’t a perfect or groundbreaking release, but it was far more satisfying when you listening to this album on repeat. My Recommendations: In Degrees, Exits, Syrups Spotify Apple Music 21) WE ARE NOT YOUR KIND – SLIPKNOT (Released: August 9, 2019) Quote This is a great album. A massive improvement from All Hope is Gone and .5. I don't know if i would say that it is the best Slipknot album, but it is great for what it is. The guitars doesn't have central role like before. There are much more samples and electronic sounds. But in the end, this is a solid and fun that has some small and healthy experimental qualities to it. My Recommendations: Critical Darling, Unstained & Liar’s Funeral Spotify Apple Music
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 BEST FILMS OF 2019: #25 - #21 25) HIGH FLYING BIRD (Released: February 8, 2019) Quote Director: Steven Soderbergh Writer: Tarell Alvin McCraney Starring: André Holland, Zazie Beetz & Melvin Gregg This takes place during the NBA lockout of 2011, and deals with the business side of basketball. The cast is great and the writing is often wonderful. The film was shot everything with an iPhone 8, which is really cool. 24) HOMECOMING (Released: April 17, 2019) Quote Director: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter Writer: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter Starring: Beyoncé, Destiny's Child, Jay-Z I know this film is just a music documentary but i can help but love every single scene in this movie, especially during behind the scenes of her Coachella set. And also, i heard that she used Grouper's Made of Air during two of the behind-the-scenes interlude sequences, which is awesome to me. 23) BRIGHTBURN (Released: May 24, 2019) Quote Director: David Yarovesky Writers: Brian Gunn & Mark Gunn Starring: Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn A very simple horror movie. It has shades of The Omen and other evil child movies. And that's how you should approach this one. It's dark, bloody and kind of dumb. this was extremely corny at some points but i had a lot of fun watching this film. 22) HUSTLERS (Released: September 13, 2019) Quote Director: Lorene Scafaria Writer: Lorene Scafaria Starring: Constance Wu, Jennifer Lopez & Keke Palmer Despite being poorly paced at times, I really enjoyed this film. Gotta give credit to the script and performances which elevate the experience in a big way. Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez were the clear standouts and did a good job with the material. Jlo's pole dancing scene >>>>>> everything else 21) READY OR NOT (Released: August 21, 2019 ) Quote Directors: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett Writer: Guy Busick & R. Christopher Murphy Starring: Samara Weaving, Adam Brody, Mark O'Brien I thought Ready or Not was going to be a horror film, but it's more like a thriller but like the frantically-running-away kind of thriller, not a twisty legal saga. It's hard not to notice a similarity to Get Out but I'm not even saying that's a bad thing though. At just a little more than 90 minutes it never gives you time to think about getting bored, just whisks you through some good set-pieces, some fun deaths, some funny deaths, and on to a pretty great finale.
