Navyofbadgals Posted December 15, 2019 Author Posted December 15, 2019 so let's get started top 45 albums, less than last year because well.. this year was sumn! and I may have been less invested too I guess 45. Cate Le Bon - Reward Art Pop Probably the most overrated album of the year, I think we SHOULD have that conversation. It's a nice album though, but it just drags a bit too much and isn't exciting enough for me to really return to 44. Beyoncé & Various Artists - The Lion King: The Gift R&B, Flop Album chile no but forreal this has its moments. I don't think this is nearly as exciting as Beyoncé's main projects, but it gave me some cute songs. Not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, because it flopped, but (if we count it as one of her albums) undoubtedly not her best. also homecoming is not on the list because I wasn't sure what to do with it but it's a big yes from me yup yup 43. Tamaryn - Dreaming The Dark Synth Pop this has some bops, love Angels of Sweat. This honestly does such a good job of capturing the 80s synthpop-y sound that it's also the reason why I don't return to it as often as other albums, it sounds so dated and is perhaps not as modern as I would like it to be. Still nice 42. Emily King - Scenery R&B A really lovely and warm album. The mix of soul and pop (into an R&B sound) is done very well, but this is a rather safe album too. There's nothing bad here, but it's so cleanly polished that there is not a lot of excitement to be found here. Definitely worth a listen, but a listen where you're just chilling, because this isn't going to blow away, but it's still likable. 41. BROODS - Don't Feed The Pop Monster Electropop Really neat album. It has some duds here and there which definitely brings this down, but it has a lot of bops. Really love Hospitalized, and some other tracks too, though I will say that this is not the most adventurous album ever. It'll do 40. Tove Lo - Sunshine Kitty Electropop well.. ehm.. so.. this was disappointing huh? Probably in the minority on this, but this is by far her worst album, it's mostly just boring. Still Tove has shown time and time again to be a great pop song writer, and she occasionally proves that. The lead, the Kylie feat and Sweettalk My Heart are amazing songs that show her strength, but this is still not nearly as exciting as her previous records. 39. Thom Yorke - ANIMA Alternative Definitely a nice successor to the Suspiria soundtrack, which by the way is the better record surprisingly, still this beats the rest of his solo work easily. Really loved the movie that went along with it too, but this just does not have any replay value. This is a great listen for like the first 5 times and then you will just go to other albums. 38. Andrew Bird - My Finest Work Yet Chamber Pop / Indie Folk Somewhat humorous in a way, somewhat dark but in a way that comes together pretty nicely. Strong songwriting, and nice instrumental. Too bad we hate men so he's low! (In reality I just haven't listened to the album enough which says enough about it too, but this is still a really good album and has held up well too) 37-31 tomorrow xo
Staryu Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 TLK soundtrack is ranked too high I agrih about Tove Lo.

Jet Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I think The Gifts placement is pretty accurate. Good enough to get acknowledged but not super high It’s not a great album but there’s a few hidden gems in there worth exploring
