I didn't had any expectations for Ally's solo debut, I thought she was going to release a quick single and change constantly and abruptly her sound chasing a hit song (like Lauren & Dinah did). The song she released at the end of the year (The Truth Is In There) was basic and I my expectations were even lower. Then this year she released her debut single "Low Key" with a great music video and honestly I wasn't expecting her releasing a great bop After that, she released "Lips Don't Lie" and that was the song which made me start stanning her. Her voice is so perfect and it fits perfectly in the pop songs she sings. And then she released 2 more songs this year: "Higher" & "No Good" and they are sooooo good I feel like she's improving with every song she releases, and also she's trying to showcase more her vocals in the last 2 songs she released. One thing that I admire about her is her dedication. Not only she debuted her music career but proved her haters wrong by joining 'Dancing with the Stars' after a lot of trolls mocked her for her dancing skills. She ended up in the 3rd placing and also some of her dances earned up the highest score in the competition. She works so hard, and I really admire that Also I think she is finding her own style and knows who she is as a music artist. For all of these reasons Ally deserves to be named the Artist of the Year. 2019 was a great year for her, can't wait for what's to come next year Edited December 30, 2019 by kelly-clarkson
