Sabrina Carpenter - Singular: Act II

 

I enjoyed the album overall. But Sabrina set the bar high with Sigular: Act I so I had huge expectations for the Act II.... And It's great but I was kinda disappointed with the album

Ariana Grande - thank u, next

 

This is Ariana's most cohesive album

A lot of bops are on this album, and this is an improvement from her latest album 'Sweetener'. But my favorite album of Ariana is still 'Dangerous Woman' which may not be cohesive but has better standouts than this album.

Even though I don't really dislike any song from the album, I think it's missing something . But the good news is that it has a lot of bops and none of the songs sound all over the place

P!nk - Hurts 2B Human

 

Let's start saying this is an improvement from her latest album 'Beautiful Trauma'. Beautiful Trauma had great songs but my issue with that album is the 2nd half of the album is filled with ballads. 'Hurts 2B Human' brings more variety than P!nk's previous album even though it may be not so cohesive and some of the lyrics are so vague. For example:

What does that even mean?!!?

 

 

However this album has amazing songs that could easily be some of P!nk's best songs released this decade. "Happy" and "90 Days" are so beautiful in every aspect and you can tell she's really feeling those songs

I also like the order of the tracklist. That's important too

Ashley Tisdale - Symptoms

 

An amazing album!! I like enjoy every song on the album and each song shows a different side of Ashley

You can tell this is not just a collection of random songs thrown into an album.

The only thing that could've been better about this album it's the production... It's not bad but while I'm listening some of the songs the album feels more like an album released in 2016-2017 than an album from 2019. But I also understand Ashley probably didn't have so much budget in comparison with some other pop stars to make her album so that's understable

 

Favorite: Voices in My Head

Nina Nesbitt - The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change & The Flowers Will Fall

 

The first time I listened the album I only liked 2 songs. Then Nina re-released the album with acoustic versions (which are really good) of the songs in the album so I gave it another chance and it's amazing!!

The thing that I like the most about Nina is that it doesn't feel like she's singing a typical pop song... It feels like she's telling a story, and I think that's not easy to do in the pop genre. Every song on the album it's like a different story that Nina tells and from this album you can get to know who Nina Nesbitt is, even if you never heard of her before (like myself).

 

Favorites: Colder, Chloe, Loyal to Me

Agreed completely. I think TU, N just needed some more time in the oven, but is her most creative album

Yeah I discovered Nina watching the Loyal to Me video on Youtube, then Colder was released and I thought the album was going to be full of songs in that style and then I didn't paid attention to the rest of the album so I wasn't interested at that time

Emeli Sandé - REAL LIFE

 

This is probably Emeli's most artistic album. The instrumentals of this album are unique and some of the songs sound like they belong to a soundtrack of a movie

The opening and the ending track of the album are perfect!!!

Hoewever some of the lyrics are vague...For example in You Are Not Alone Emeli basically repeats "You Are Not Alone" through the whole chorus:

Least favorites: You Are Not Alone, Sparrow (bad lead single choice)

Céline Dion - Courage

 

This was the first album of Céline I listened in full and I really enjoyed it

I think this album shows how well she adapted her sound and powerful vocals into a record that sound like a 2019 album. There's a bit of everything in this album (bops & ballads).

I looove the way Céline sings the songs full of emotions

Even the Japanese bonus track "Soul" it's amazing

But some of the songs sound like fillers. This album could've been perfect with 2-3 less songs.

 

Favorite: Soul, Perfect Goodbye, Courage

Jonas Brothers - Happiness Begins

 

The Jonas Brothers made a comeback with a great pop album full of bops! I was surprised when I heard their new album because I wasn't expecting to hear something that I like from them since I was never interested on their music. But I really liked the album

The production it's great, most of the songs are catchy. But the 2nd half of the album is not as great as the first half and near the end of the album I was a bit bored.

 

Favorite: Every Single Time

Least favorite: Love Her (a carbon copy of JB's Love Yourself)

SVRCINA - Hearing Colour

 

I love her voice and at first I wasn't here for her change of sound into more pop. She used to make epic songs (the ones you would usually hear in a trailer for an action movie) but now changed her style to a different sound more pop. I have to admit that it fits her voice, she sounds great and the sound of the album is cohesive. However I feel she can still showcase her emotional voice (which is missing in this album) and record pop music.

 

Favorite: Insecure

Before You Exit - Love, Pain, & Retrospect

 

I discovered them this year and in 2019 they released their debut album. I chose this album as a #1 because it's a great album in every aspect. It's not magnificent or the best album that I heard in my life, but the production it's great, I like the lyrics, in some of the songs they showcase their vocals, there's variety in the album (sad songs & dark bops), none of the songs sound like a filler.

I like every song of this album, and it's a original pop record that deserved to be #1 on my list

 

Favorites: Painkiller, Numb, Sinking In

I like Emeli in the past, but she was so forgettable this year  I tried to pick up on Sparrow and Shine, but I really couldn't get into them, maybe there are better tracks on the album though.

I should listen to more of Celine Dion.

Yeah the singles are one of my least favorite songs from the album. The only one I really like it's Extraordinary Being. I think the sound of this album it's really interesting but it also can be a bit boring.
