P!nk Forever Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) A personal Countdown of Songs from my Spotify library. The rule is 1 song per artist/band. Furthermore stay perched for my various tastes in Music from Pop to Rock, Alternative, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B or Electronic and foreign Music from part Germany and Austria... everything appears in this Top 100 Countdown! P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: SON LUX SONG: FLICKERS ALBUM: We Are Rising YEAR: 2011 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: As a huge American Horror Story fan (more songs from the show are in the countdown) I first noticed this track in a promo for the Cult season. It's a pretty sad song I don't listen to often but still worth being in my charts.
P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: THE CULTS SONG: YOU AND ME ALBUM: Static YEAR: 2013 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: As far as I remember I was searching through Alternative Playlists and this song appeared. I instantly got hooked because it gives me a nice retro feeling.
P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: GARY GO SONG: THE BEGINNING ALBUM: Unfriend O.S.T. YEAR: 2016 GENRE: Score STORY: "Unfriend" or also known as "Friend Request" is one of the better horror flicks of the decade. Not that "Paranormal Activity" **** I despise but an actual movie about how scary Social Media can be and what it does to someone. The score was pretty much my thing.
P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: JAMES GILLESPIE SONG: DON'T LET ME GET ME ALBUM: Wants and Worries EP YEAR: 2019 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: This is actually a really nice attempt at covering. Though the lyrics wouldn't match at all because why would a man compare himself to damn Britney Spears? This version is also very slow paced and minimalist.
P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: NATHAN FOX SONG: DEVIL & THE HOURGLASS ALBUM: I'm All Done EP YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Folk STORY: I was looking for inspirational music for the AHS Apocalypse season and stumbled upon this folksy song. His voice reminds me of Adam Levine which may appear a bit annoying but at least there's some quality to it.
P!nk Forever Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 ARTIST: WALKING ON CARS SONG: SPEEDING CARS ALBUM: Speeding Cars YEAR: 2015 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: I heard the song on the radio and while it reminded me of native Americans dancing around the fire the first time I've listened to it, the following times I've noticed that the lyrics are better and have some meaning. The track is about a dysfunctional relationship.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: DAUGHTER SONG: YOUTH ALBUM: If You Leave YEAR: 2011 GENRE: Folk/Indie STORY: I just recently discovered this gem and it sounded familiar. Nice folksy track.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: CITY AND COLOUR SONG: RAIN ALBUM: Peaceful Road YEAR: 2017 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: I've never gotten into Dallas Green's music at all. Not until P!nk surprise dropped their You+Me project. "Rain" is a pretty sentimental track that could have landed on "rose ave." too.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: MARVELOUS TOY SONG: EL INFIÉL ALBUM: Not Moving YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Rock STORY: Another song featured on American Horror Story: Murder House. It's the last episode when Violet goes through the new teenager's CD collection just to find out he's not into the Ramones but rather listens to the Butthole Surfers. This is also where Tate enters the room and becomes jealous of the new kid.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: MOTHER MOTHER SONG: GET UP ALBUM: Dance and Cry YEAR: 2018 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: As you've noticed it doesn't stop with the Alternative genre in my countdown. It's still my most favorite genre of all I think because it can't be defined at all - not unlike Pop or Rock. "Get Up" could appear on any motivational playlist.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: INDIAN ASKIN SONG: I FEEL SOMETHING ALBUM: Another Round YEAR: 2019 GENRE: Alternative/Indie STORY: This one falls into the category of songs I've stumbled upon and instantly liked.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: ARONCHUPA SONG: I'M AN ALBATRAOZ ALBUM: I'm An Albatraoz YEAR: 2014 GENRE: House STORY: A song so ridiculous you just have to dance to. The silly lyrics never fail to amaze me.
P!nk Forever Posted December 8, 2019 Author Posted December 8, 2019 ARTIST: FAR EAST MOVEMENT ft. THE CATARACS, DEV SONG: LIKE A G6 ALBUM: Free Wired YEAR: 2010 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: A club banger which basically lets you do weird things on the dancefloor.

If you haven’t yet, check out the catalogue, it’s so beautiful.

P!nk Forever Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 ARTIST: MAC QUAYLE SONG: ADAGIO IN G MINOR ALBUM: The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (O.T.S.) YEAR: 2018 GENRE: Classic/Score STORY: The whole Soundtrack in general for this fantastic Emmy and Golden Globe awarded season was so fitting. I recommend this Season in particular to everyone who's into biopics of charismatic serial killers because Darren Criss was just amazing in this.
P!nk Forever Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 ARTIST: EVAN PETERS SONG: COME AS YOU ARE ALBUM: American Horror Story: Freak Show (O.T.S.) YEAR: 2014 GENRE: Grunge STORY: Evan Peters did justice to this cover of Nirvana. It almost always has me hard guessing if this is the original or the cover. Watch out for the specific Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange songs in this countdown. I just can't label them all as American Horror Story Cast because everyone has had a solo in the season.
P!nk Forever Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 ARTIST: EL PROFESOR SONG: BELLA CIAO (HUGEL REMIX) ALBUM: Bella Ciao YEAR: 2018 GENRE: Dance/Electronic STORY: I have a certain scene in my mind where the setting plays in a church and nuns are suddenly dancing to the rhythm of the song. Like "Like a G6" I just can't but dance along.
P!nk Forever Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 ARTIST: LAUREN O'CONNELL SONG: HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN ALBUM: Covers YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Folk STORY: It was basically the AHS: Coven promo in which the song was featured. Those who know the original song know that it's sung by some male band but the song does also sound great from the perspective of a woman.
P!nk Forever Posted December 10, 2019 Author Posted December 10, 2019 ARTIST: SANTIGOLD SONG: DISPARATE YOUTH ALBUM: Disparate Youth YEAR: 2012 GENRE: Electropop STORY: Santigold alongside M.I.A. are just 2 of the pioneers of coloured women who incorporated electronic music with rap and carried the torch for new and upcomers. This song is iconic for its decade.
