K$Ellie Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Pang isn't one of my faves of the year but it's a solid album took me ages to get around to it but I was pleasantly surprised and most of the songs are bops the Magdalene praise too whew, luv that the Charli shade was absolutely necessary though x
Enigmanotta Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 I don't see any shade towards Charlotte, I only see FACTS! Caroline indeed served the best album of this year and I cannot wait for her to redefine pop with her magnificient voice. A true artist!
bestfiction Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Miss Caroline really did what she had to do with Pang
Diarrhoea Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Glad you didn't like Charli either Pang is great, catchy bops but also varied production and you can tell she worked on it ages without it coming across too stilted. It's not a 10/10 but definitely one of the better pop albums recently
potent Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Moderation and Sucker Pop Monster was the first Broods album I heard and it was pretty good, Sucker was one of my favorite tracks. 365 is okay, it also makes my list but pretty low Medellin, Juice also good. All the Time is catchy but I'm still waiting for something by Zara that really gets my attention. I know a few songs by Caroline but I still need to fully get into her.
Ewan Chaos Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 We have like exactly the same thoughts about Broods & Marina (though I forced myself to somehow like L+F so... my loss). Caroline, TALENT. I want her to go into me... PANG!
TheWayWeWere Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 both Guardian and DL are FLAWLESS, but I hate this bitch for still not releasing ****ing album Moderation > HAH L+F is cute album, I don't get the hate yeah, it's her worst effort, but still she served 365 PANG I'm so happy for discovering this girl this year

Happy to see more people stanning Broods last album, cause I feel like it made no noise and just came and went compared Conscious (which was also great, but in a long run pop monster wins) And I hope my PANG stanning really makes more people notice her, she deserves her LP1/Visions moment with that album 4 hours ago, TheWayWeWere said: both Guardian and DL are FLAWLESS, but I hate this bitch for still not releasing ****ing album Moderation > HAH L+F is cute album, I don't get the hate yeah, it's her worst effort, but still she served 365 PANG I'm so happy for discovering this girl this year The tea I feel like I really enjoyed L+F at first, but time takes stan glasses off and I just gave up on it at some point, let's hope future brings more FROOT-level track
DancingShoes Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Caroline TASTE I was very pleased when I listened to it. Also, thank you for reminding me that Broods album came out this year. I gotta relisten to it.
BlackoutZone Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 (edited) ALBUM OF THE DECADE JANELLE MONÁE - THE ARCHANDROID There are no words to describe how much I love this record, from the dramatic intro to the majestic finale of BaBopByeYa each and every song is a journey of sound and together they all create a story you can't help but live through while listening. The ArchAndroid is movie you visualize in your head, with characters and plot you know so well yet it leaves you breathless every time. Piece of art, work of a genius. I hate to see it being a bit forgotten on all these decade and lists so I came here to carry its legacy. Every track on this album is a high, a peak, a moment, it's hard to pick a fave. For me it would be probably something around Dance or Die, 57821 or Say You'll Go, but if I was to choose one essential song of the record that surely has to be Cold War: Edited December 6, 2019 by BlackoutZone

austinsuxx Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 PANG & Magdalene were hard for me to rank was well. so close
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 6, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 6, 2019 I just got into archandroid recently and WOOOOW what an album. I've been sleeping on it
hjelp Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Janelle's best effort ahh, we really love to see it. Dirty Computer getting all the GP acclaim kinda makes me fume every night before bed, but I'll sleep well knowing that songs like Oh, Maker and 57821 exist
BlackoutZone Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 SONG OF THE DECADE CARLY RAE JEPSEN - RUN AWAY WITH ME No other pop song deserves this spot more. It came like a thunder and years later I still haven't recovered from the strike of when I've heard the chorus for the first time, what a gorgeous production. Simple, yet beautiful lyrics, fantastic melody with slight nostalgic touch, incredibly well edited and mastered vocal layers flowing over the pumping, constantly building up insrtuemntal, a literal dream of a song. Can't imagine getting tired of it, ever. I wonder if the upcoming decade brings something as good to the table.
austinsuxx Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 the modern day I wanna dance with somebody
