I'm not sure when I will start and I will probably end up posting tracks every day at random times for the bumps so make sure to visit the thread daily Enjoy and feel free to share your thoughts! BlackoutZone Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) R ♦ E ♦ C ♦ A ♦ P ♠ Honorable Mentions ♠ Spoiler Sky Ferreira - Guardian I thought that all these years of waiting for Ms Crackhead to drop this one would set some insanely high expectations that in the end would be left unmet no matter how great the song is, yet I absolutely love it and still think it would be the perfect lead, a shame that instead she leaked it it got leaked and won't serve as a Masochism single anymore. Released officially would be possibly my top 10. Florence + The Machine - Moderation Probably the first release of 2019 I was obsessed with and even though I overplayed it in the early days of the year I still enjoy it more than majority of High As Hope Didn't make the list, cause it came out nearly a year ago and I haven't touched it in months. Broods - Sucker Don't Feed the Pop Monster is their best album by far and I love it mainly for it's cohesion, but I feel like that's also what makes it lack stand outs a bit? If I was to point one I would run to pick Peach, but it came out in 2018 so I wouldn't put it on the list so let me just honor this album with a mention of Sucker which is a great opener MARINA - Emotional Machine This album was a massive misstep for Ms Lamborghini Diamonds, but I'm still a stan and this particular track made Love + Fear seem a bit less horrible, wish it featured Georgia from Broods officially. ZEDD f/ Katy Perry - 365 According to Last.fm this is my most played song of 2019 So even though I don't listen to it at all now it feels right to include it there. I really thought she would smash with this and we would love her again, guess not At least Gemini Feed impact lives on and we love to see it! A few other tracks I love, but they just missed Top 50: Katy Perry - Harleys in Hawaii Alice Chater - Thief Ellie Goulding - Do You Remember Madonna - Medellín (feat. Maluma) Nina Nesbitt - Chloe Tove Lo - Sweettalk My Heart Zara Larsson - All The Time Lizzo - Juice Shura - BKLYNLDN SONIKKU f/ LIZ - Sweat ♠ Album of the Year ♠ Spoiler ALBUM OF THE YEAR CAROLINE POLACHEK - PANG Y'all bullied me for that (indeed tragic) banner so I decided to revamp the OP a bit revealing my 2019 AOTY along with it. Caroline's been promising for me ever since I've heard her collabs like Ashes of Love or Tears, both being some of my favorite PC Music tracks ever so her debut was definitely something I anticipated. And look how she ate that... Masterpiece, not a single weak track, she has some girls wondering now. Remember people hyping Charli as future of pop? Well, after 'Charli' I don't think that's the case anymore so let's focus on this shining talent right here and all the serves Caroline prepared for us. While you are here listen to her brand new BBC Radio 1 performance which shows even more how STUNNING she is, especially with the flawless cover of Everything But The Girl's classic - Missing: PS. Yes, Magdalene is close second. ♠ Album of the Decade ♠ Spoiler ALBUM OF THE DECADE JANELLE MONÁE - THE ARCHANDROID There are no words to describe how much I love this record, from the dramatic intro to the majestic finale of BaBopByeYa each and every song is a journey of sound and together they all create a story you can't help but live through while listening. The ArchAndroid is movie you visualize in your head, with characters and plot you know so well yet it leaves you breathless every time. Piece of art, work of a genius. I hate to see it being a bit forgotten on all these decade and lists so I came here to carry its legacy. Every track on this album is a high, a peak, a moment, it's hard to pick a fave. For me it would be probably something around Dance or Die, 57821 or Say You'll Go, but if I was to choose one essential song of the record that surely has to be Cold War: ♠ Song of the Decade ♠ Spoiler SONG OF THE DECADE CARLY RAE JEPSEN - RUN AWAY WITH ME No other pop song deserves this spot more. It came like a thunder and years later I still haven't recovered from the strike of when I've heard the chorus for the first time, what a gorgeous production. Simple, yet beautiful lyrics, fantastic melody with slight nostalgic touch, incredibly well edited and mastered vocal layers flowing over the pumping, constantly building up insrtuemntal, a literal dream of a song. Can't imagine getting tired of it, ever. I wonder if the upcoming decade brings something as good to the table. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #50 - #46 ♠ Spoiler #50 Kim Petras - There Will Be Blood Since Turn Off The Light, Vol. 1 dropped all I hoped for was another Close Your Eyes on Vol. 2 and Ms Petras gave me all of that with this song. #49 PVRIS - Death of Me Whooa lord when the chorus kicks... I lose it. The whole EP they dropped this year is great, but this stand out is above the rest. #48 Shura - religion (u can lay your hands on me) Shura's debut album really served so I was looking forward its follow up and though forevher didn't wreck me as much as Nothing's Real this track snapped, BKLYNLDN was close to take this spot too. #47 Ava Max - Torn I'm gay, white and I think Madonna's Hung Up is one of the best pop song of all time. No other explanation of why this bland hag is in my top #46 Alice Chater - Tonight Nothing extraordinary about this song, but it didn't stop me from playing it 200 times this year and I just gotta stan my girl Alice who I love with all my heart ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #45 - #41 ♠ Spoiler #45 Taylor Swift - Afterglow While Lover is far from being my favorite Taylor album I stan like 2/3 highlights and Afterglow is one of them. Though if it wasn't for me going through a break up in recent months, Taylor wouldn't appear on the list #44 Sigrid - Mine Right Now Sucker Punch is a pretty great pop record, but there are some dull tracks I always skip. Mine Right Now sure isn't one of them, what a great bop and I hope this is the direction Sigrid takes for the future releases. #43 LIZ - Mickey I'm a sucker for throwback sound of 90s bubblegum pop music and this track is a killer on that field. Catchy, sweet, so well produced, can't get enough of it. #42 Tinashe - Know Better Best song on Tinashe's new project. I might not be as obsessed with Songs For You as everyone else, but this double track is such a tune, the latter part slays. #41 LÉON - You And I LÉON's new record is absolutely one of my favorite pop albums of 2019 and I feel like this track stands out the most for me, but Lost TIme and a few others were close to take its spot too. Make sure to check her out! ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #40 - #36 ♠ Spoiler #40 AURORA - The River Ever since I've discovered AURORA I've been obsessed with everything she releases and her recent project A Different Kind of Human is no exception. She is a fairy ad her music is magical. #39 Tame Impala - Borderline Sir Kevin Parker did what he had to do yet again, best release of the new project so far. #38 Halsey - Nightmare Since it's not on the album and apparently she scrapped more of the songs with similar vibe I'm quoting a classic, **** you bald bitch. #37 Halsey - Graveyard I like this equally with Nightmare, it's simple but it works, the chorus is fantastic and I still can't get enough of it. Sadly nothing else from Manic sticks so far. #36 BANKS - Gimme Not keen on III, but this one took me tf off, throwback Timbaland inspired production did that. What a bop! ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #35 - #31 ♠ Spoiler #35 Rina Sawayama - STFU! It didn't hit me on first listen even though Alterlife was a massive serve, but the more I listened to it (with the music video) the more I learnt to appreciate it, now I'm crazy excited about her new direction. #34 ionnalee - Some Body This era just came and went, but it left some gems and this one shines the brightest. PARAMOUNT deserved to make the cut on Remember the Future too as it's one of her best songs since BLUE. #33 Camila Cabello - Easy Romance low key sucks, but this is her best song since Never Be The Same if not her best overall. Don't skulldrag me for this thank you x #32 Tove Lo - Glad He's Gone I have the same relationship with each of Tove's leads - mixed at first, but in a long run I see them as timeless, perfectly chosen stand outs and I'm glad this song follows the rule as I wasn't keen on it at first. #31 Coldplay - Arabesque A comeback single we deserved, one of their best songs this decade and though the album felt rather uncooked, Arabesque will go down as one of their best songs. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #30 - #26 ♠ Spoiler #30 The Weeknd - Blinding Lights I get called... "synthpop songs' *****", maybe it's a bit too high due to the fact it's new and I'm obsessed but Abel is giving me exactly what I want with this track #29 Weyes Blood - Movies Best song of the album along with Andromeda, I feel like it would be higher if I was more sad and depressed throughout the year, but 2019 was truly a year of me bopping to life #28 Aly & AJ - Church Ever since they came back with Take Me I've been hooked on all their releases and Church is definitely such a highlight for me. Can't wait for the album next year, both EPs are top notch. #27 Madonna & Maluma - Medellín I feel bad for people who fail to see how excellent this single is. Maybe God Control or Dark Ballet deserve this spot more, but Medellín is the one I keep coming back to the most from Madame X. #26 Grimes & i_o - Violence Big bop from Ms c, what's new tbh, stream Miss Anthropocene FLAC leak x ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #25 - #21 ♠ Spoiler #25 Taylor Swift - Lover While Lover is far from being my favorite Taylor album I stan like 2/3 highlights and the title track is one of them. Though if it wasn't for me going through a break up in recent months, Taylor wouldn't appear on the list [2] #24 Carly Rae Jepsen - Julien Gorgeous opener of another great album by Carly, we truly don't deserve her and all the disco perfection she brought with this one. #23 Aly & AJ - Sanctuary Career highlight, their best song, can't wait for what's to come, cause everything about their recent releases is so on point. Obsessed! #22 AURORA - In Bottles Ever since she debuted this one live I've been obsessed and the studio version just couldn't be better. After hearing it live in person I've decided it's my favorite song of hers. #21 Allie X - Fresh Laundry It goes over my head how can this song be so underrated, career highlight, perfect lead, hopefully something else on the album is as good. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #20 - #16 ♠ Spoiler #20 Zara Larsson - Don't Worry Bout Me Her best song, Tove Lo penned pop perfection. Surprised people tend to stan All The TIme more when this is the clear highlight of her discography and the direction she should take. #19 Katy Perry - Never Really Over I always loved Dagny's pop earcandy Love You Like That, but Katy took what's best of it and transformed it into a totally different bop, we have to stan. #18 SUNMI - Noir Noir is sort of the new sequel I always needed in my life, the video makes the song even better as if it wasn't an electronic retro dance perfection already. #17 Sky Ferreira - Downhill Lullaby It's probably not as good, but I missed her crackheadery too much to left her out of this list. #16 Ellie Goulding - Flux Being an Ellie stan in 2019 is surely exhausting, but this track was enough to prove me she still has it. Her best balland since Explosions if not ever. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #15 - #11 ♠ Spoiler #15 Grimes - My Name Is Dark Kill V. Maim 2.0 sue me We literally have to stan. #14 Grimes - So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth I guess I just eat up whatever moany ambient **** Grimes releases, but this is literally perfection and best track on Miss Anthropocene! #13 Lana Del Rey - Norman ****ing Rockwell Best song on the album by far, the opening line alone set it in stone. Don't really get all the The Greatest praise as it sounds like that Sam Smith hit from a few years ago. #12 Tove Lo f/ Kylie Minogue - Really Don't Like U A collab I never even dreamed I would get and it definitely didn't disappoint. They kept it so low key, but it works better than I could've ever expected. Criminally underrated. #11 FKA twigs - Cellophane This one doesn't really need a comment huh, it's simply that song. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #10 - #6 ♠ Spoiler #10 Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now I always stanned Dua, but to think she will be the one to bring such well crafted nu-disco dance pop anthem only in her second era, I'm just so proud and still floored by this bop. #9 LOOΠΔ - Butterfly Glad I switched on K-Pop 2 years ago and now I can appreciate this pop perfection, flawless synthy drop and overall best K-Pop production of 2019. #8 VÉRITÉ - gone new skin is for sure a step down from immaculate Somewhere in Between, but gone, might just be my favorite VÉRITÉ song to date, so monumental. #7 Jessie Ware - Adore You Her best song since Imagine It Was Us, I'm so glad she is back on track and about to serve her best album. Mirage was absolutely great too, but Adore You is on another level. #6 Charli XCX & Christine and the Queens - Gone One of Charli's best songs, what a shame rest of the album sans Cross You Out is trash. ♠ Best Songs of 2019 #5 - #1 ♠ Spoiler #5 FKA twigs - mary magdalene Objectively cellophane does deserve this place more indeed, but I'm such a sucker for title tracks and this one elevated MAGDALENE for me to the highest level. #4 Caroline Polachek - Door Literally a cult classic already, masterpiece, I'm so looking forward to what Caroline has to offer next, cause though it won't be easy to top PANG I know she is definitely capable of even greater things. #3 Caroline Polachek - Ocean of Tears Same comment as to Door, I cannot choose which one is better, they are equally perfect and though I didn't want to flood this list with Caroline, half of the album could easily be there. The videos are also incredible. #2 Carly Rae Jepsen - No Drug Like Me This was my #1 for most of 2019, but at this point pretty much every song in top 5 is the one. Pop perfection, couldn't be more impressed that Carly managed to serve something on RAWN's level again. and now for the #1 song of 2019... Spoiler SONG OF THE YEAR DUA LIPA - FUTURE NOSTALGIA There is so much you could say about this track and it's so easily Dua's best song yet. I find it incredible how we are only in her 2nd era and she is already serving such classic. As someone who had a chance to hear the record I can say that the song is literally about the album itself. It embodies both the sound of the entire record, taking what's best of it and blending it together, but also the attitude she is serving throughout. I adore how the track is built on a repeated (yet not so in your face) sample of low, heavily vocodered voice saying Future Nostalgia which gave me an insatnt thought of Daft Punk though the song itself isn't really dominated with melodic 80s synths. Instead they are rather toned down, the verses are a bit aggresive, grunge in production yet full of attitude with her vocals/lyrics, but then the chorus is literally striking with that glass shattering sound (which is much more noticable in the lyrics video version), lots of melodic layers of vocals and rich instrumentation. I feel like this song is slightly what Ariana wishes she achieved with The Light is Coming or Justin Timberlake attempted to do with Filthy, but Future Nostalgia is far more interesting and well thought out than both of them. Ewan Chaos Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Don't Start Now can be #1, any Tove song that isn't Glad He's Gone can be #2
Recidive Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I expect nothing but a bunch of masterpieces NRO/DSN/Tove/FKA/Tinashe better be in top 10 tho

geodancefreak Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 STMH and All The Time should have been top50
BlackoutZone Posted December 5, 2019 Author Posted December 5, 2019 Next year I'm defo doing Top 100 But honestly positions barely matter to me, if something appears in this thread it means I love (or loved) it and the actual top 50 positions could change daily for me I also tried to put max 2/3 songs by 1 artist in the actual Top 50 that's why some masterpieces got snubbed, but I will mention songs that also deserved certain position while posting the ranking.
worldwide angel Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 YAWSS KING the charlotte shade could have been kept tho
