KasioKas Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 (edited) 100. Die a Little Bit (feat. Ms Banks) - Tinashe The weird sample of the kid speaking about whatever.. who thought this was a good idea? It lowers replay value quite a bit, and otherwise would have made me like the song more. The feature at least doesn't lower it further. It's a nice song but could've been better. 99. MONOPOLY - Ariana Grande & Victoria Monét IDK why i'm so obsessed with this song, maybe my bias towards both singers? After their gigantic hit earlier in the yr, sure, why not release a fun bop and have fun with it? Because it's short, it amassed a large no. of plays and I still let it play now and then, it's harmless, love it. 98. This Love - Camila Cabello Now that I've seen the expose and fake apology, F*** her! But this song was fine... 97. South of the Border (feat. Camila Cabello & Cardi B) - Ed Sheeran 96. Waste - Dove Cameron She's a grower! @Bxtch kept recommending her and this grew on me, it's very cute!, but I still don't see the great vocalist praise others have given her yet, everything i've heard from her, including this, is very somber.. 95. Deep - Julia Michaels The best song on both parts of her release. Julia, stop playing with me and releasing boring songs. Give me more of this, this is great. 94. Until Forever - Tori Kelly 93. Lola - Iggy Azalea & Alice Chater 92. I Don’t Want Your Money (feat. H.E.R.) - Ed Sheeran 91. Love Me Again - RAYE QUEEN is back! But this wasn't grew old after 2 months. I LOVED LOVED LOVED her ep last year and can't wait for new music next year., and hopefully it's more in the vein of those and not this? 90. Dream of You - Camila Cabello F*** her. 89. Used to This - Camila Cabello F*** her. 88. ghostin - Ariana Grande Hear me out, I don't connect with this simply because it's too personal too her, meaning I don't share the experiences she did and can only imagine, and so I don't replay this often, it's my least played on the album actually. That said, I respect any artist who gets so incredibly personal on their work of art and as usual, she sounds beautiful. 87. Strangers - Jonas Brothers 86. Paradise - Bazzi A BOP! You can tell he was feeling himself, this is a must play at a party/public event. This is the Bazzi I want, nothing less. 85. It Don't Matter (feat. JoJo) - Jacob Collier This grew on me alot, I completely ignored it a few times initially, but how can you ignore queen Jojo, running up, down and sideways all over this instrumental. Whew! 84. Minute To Myself - Tori Kelly So she DID record an uptempo song, and this PUTA DIDN'T PUT IT ON THE ALBUM. LIVID. LIVID I TELL YOU!!! This is a nice song though, why tf would you make it a bonus? ugh. 83. make up - Ariana Grande 82. Till Now - Banks What an EXCELLENT intro to this album, my absolute fave intro of the year. I have no more words, it's perfect. 81. Armor - Sara Bareilles 80. All This Woman - Betty Who 79. Thunderclouds (feat. Sia, Diplo & Labrinth) - LSD 78. Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Pentatonix 77. On My Way - Alan Walker, Sabrina Carpenter & Farruko 76. Don't Call Me Angel (Charlie's Angels) - Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey I know everyone disliked this one but if it wasn't for lana it would have been even higher. Loved it; and yes, lana easily ruined this song for me. I don't like her, don't want to listen to her. I don't f*** w/demons. 75. Old Me - Betty Who Edited December 20, 2019 by KasioKas

KasioKas Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 (edited) Albums List (14 - 6) (Each album featured on this list will include two of my favourites) 14. Dedicated - Carly Rae Jepsen First of all, i'd like to repent. I paid EMOTION complete dust, after 1 listen, idk WTF was going through my head to not give it the time of day, in fact i'm not even entirely sure I gave it a full listen, but I went back this yr and it's actually a solid pop album, not as great as everyone praises but p. f*cking great. Now Dedicated - not as great. Cute pop songs, a breathy voice atop playful - never too serious or personal - lyrics. There were a couple songs I walked away from feeling like i'd like to listen to again, but mostly the album wasn't excellent. Hey! maybe in a couple years i'll listen again and feel differently. I used to love Carly during the Curiosity/Tug of War days, but for some reason I lost interest. This album doesn't do much to pull me back in.. Recommend: Right Words Wrong Time // No Drug Like Me // Real Love 13. Happiness Begins - Jonas Brothers I was shocked to hear that the band got back together. I was even more shocked to find out they had a massive hit and their album was a gigantic success in this day and age - considering solo they don't come close. I was MOST surprised to find out that I too enjoyed a large portion of this album, and many songs remained in heavy rotation on my usual playlists. The boys are back and better than ever and i'm not mad about it, I actually want more from them now. Phase out Maroon 5 who seems to be stuck in a rut, and give us the JB as the generic pop music chart toppers, why not? Recommend: Every Single Time // Only Human // Strangers 12. Betty - Betty Who Betty, Betty, Betty... you could be SOOOO great. You have the voice, the sass, and you're beautiful. DAMMIT you should be having the success that that halsey girl has, but when you shine, you shine and when you flop, you flop hard. There are some great bops/highs on this album, but unfortunately it's wholly uninteresting, and I walked away with just a handful of songs I wanted to replay. She needs better writers, and maybe collabs with bigger names to get her name out there. I still have hope she can be huge, but this was a disappointment as a whole project. Love the bops though, some of my fave songs of the year!! Recommend: The One // All This Woman // Do With It 11. - Ugh, those feels again - Snoh Aalegra Discovered this randomly - maybe through Spotify, and man am I glad I did. This is one of the best and only RnB albums I could sit through from start to finish this year, and also want to listen to again and again. I don't know the artist at all, but now i'm interested! She's caught my attention. This album has little to no lows, it's an easy, enjoyable listen. I'll give this a couple more plays as a whole and then i'm kinda excited to delve deeper into her discog and see what gems I discover. PLEASE check out the below recommended songs if you're into RnB. She deserves to be heard. Recommend: I Want You Around // Toronto 10. While We Wait - Kehlani I played this mixtape, then dropped it, then took it up again, multiple times this year. Kehlani has this weird way of sounding sultry, sassy and confident in a way that is soooo appealing to me. Any song she blesses with her voice she makes better, and for this mixtape, I think I enjoyed her and her voice more than anything else, does that make sense? The lyrics are fine, features are fine, production is fine, but I just like listening to her; and so with this mixtape, I got tired of the songs quickly, but revisited them to hear her sing again on new music. This mixtape is not her best, and I'm sooo glad it's just a mixtape and not an official album. I hope with her next full length project there's more fun sexy songs that she excels at, along with the personal, or the sultry and confident along with the heartbreaking. Recommend: Feels // Morning Glory 9. Singular Act II - Sabrina Carpenter Sabrina claimed #1 last year, above Sweetener no less, and then, I said that despite the less than mature lyrics in some songs, the EP as a whole was phenomenal for a pop record, and having just discovered her, was flabbergasted at this new young girl with such pipes and masterful ad libs and runs. My feelings for her have not faltered one bit after a year, but with this 2nd part EP - there's a clear decline in the body of work as a whole that can't be ignored. 1 song is unlistenable due to the feature alone, the lyrics still aren't as mature as i'd like (e.g. "I like your soul when it's shirtless cause it's just like mine") and most just feel like fun songs with no substance/weight - with that I mean there's little emotion - and I still think it's a product of her age. Songs like 'Pushing 20' (which I still think should have been a one-off single), are cute but that's about it. I'm glad this EP is fully out - maybe she recorded all songs together and so this new ep has lyrics I don't love like the last, but if she can fix that with her next project - back to #1 she may return on my lists, because looks, voice (!!!!), production, ad libs, she's got it! I want a more mature Sabrina - not sexually - but emotionally portrayed in her lyrics. Recommend: In My Bed // Tell Em // Looking at Me 8. Romance - Camila Cabello I really liked this, but don't listen to it anymore since this whole scandal broke. Dammit I liked it too!, but wtf, those posts and that half-hearted apoplogy hits too close to home. The album is good, not great, and while people think her debut was better, i'd say they're on the same level, because I never loved that either. Honestly, this album sounds more personal, she's lived a bit more life, and loved and lost - and reflects it very well in her music. I still think the way she's able to convey her emotions into lyrics is amazing - that said, the songs get old quickly for a reason I can't quite pinpoint, and some of her stances on relationships - based on lyrics - I don't quite agree with, like 'This Love' "if you need some space then just walk away".. why does needing space = a break up? Hell, even Ariana sings 'NASA' "I'mma need space - Baby you know time apart is beneficial" and I agree more with that logic. Unfortunately, she's lost a listener in me and this album, cute as it is, won't get the streams she could have gotten. What a shame. Recommend: Shameless // Should've Said It // Cry for Me 7. Songs for You - Tinashe Tinashe has never impressed me with her previous work, the closest she's come was Joyride, but even then I only took away 4/5 songs that I liked. I always just observed from the sidelines, wondering what everyone was crazy about. That said, this album as a whole is really good. Now I see it. She's a star. The album is cohesive, she's a great singer, and conveys her relationships over hip-hop/RnB beats really well. When she attempts to do an uptempo - it's a clear bop and I have many on repeat, and I find myself listening to the whole album again and again, instead of just nit-picking a couple that I like and dropping the rest. Now let's get into the bad - many choices she made here are weird to me and ulltimately makes me like the songs less. Having some random kid talk over the song - to the point where it literally stops (insturmental and all) until he's done. Horrible choice. Having the up-tempo bops end in a ballad - bad choice, it's fine for 1, but when I want a high energy song and play one of these, i'll skip mid-way when it starts to transition to a ballad. Finally, artists need to learn to control their features, and not let features ruin their work. I'd much rather a solo 'So Much Better' than the trash I was given - having to skip right before his verse AND before it transitions to a slower tempo (2 for 1 special!) is too much work and eventually I just won't listen at all. Release a solo version. Finally, I have to say, this is what happens when an artist is given free reign over their sound and can scream creatively into the void and release art they're fully proud of - they excel. Good for her. Recommend: Save Room for Us (feat. MAKJ) // So Much Better (WITHOUT Geazy) // Hopscotch 6. Dinah Jane 1 - Dinah Jane - TIE I was never a huge 5h stan but I paid them some attention and got all their albums and enjoyed them, that said, IDK the girls individually that well. After Camila left - I learned more about the girls individually, but none really stuck out, and I had doubts any would release good music on their own. Some have released, and as predicted I don't care for it, but this girl right here? This ep (of just 3 songs to be fair) is brilliant from start to finish. NO bad songs, NO complaints about anything. Lyrics - great, vocals - great, emotion - great. IDK alot about her but dammit I love every song here and all three made it high on my top songs list. Good to also see that she can sing live as well, especially the more demanding songs like 'Fix It'. Her appearance on the TERRELL show made me like her, and i'm definitely looking out for more work from her in the new year, hopefully another EP, hopefully along the same lines as this quality-wise. Recommend: Fix It // Pass Me By Edited December 27, 2019 by KasioKas

ATRL Moderator kelly-clarkson Posted December 20, 2019 ATRL Moderator Posted December 20, 2019 I'm not a fan of Dinah but the song of her EP really fits her voice. KasioKas Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 74. Motivation - Normani Nice release, but her previous songs like Waves and Checklist are better. I wish she went full throttle with this though, i.e. full promo, instead of trickling songs here and there before a full release. That said, it's a cute pop song, and the mv makes it 5x better!. I love the way the song starts for some reason, nothing special about the intro but the way she comes in is nice. 73. Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince - Taylor Swift This is one of the few that I enjoyed on this album, because it's one of those closest to her previous writing style. It's not the overly repetitive or dumbed down lyrics she chooses for her commercial pop songs. It seems Taylor drops those for singles and the album tracks are the better songs on her albums. I love that she sticks to a theme in her storytelling w/this song, and uses a plethora of comparisons to school to tell that story of her relationship and public life. Well done. 72. Love Me Less (feat. Kim Petras) - MAX & Kim Petras 71. No Love for the Lonely - Ed Sheeran & Ariana Grande Never fully released, but a very fun pop song, glad I found the HD. Ari sings in the same style she has been for this era, and as always, the ad libs are very well done. Glad this never made the album though, it's full of disposable pop songs as it is, don't want her name attached. 70. Blow It All - Kim Petras Not one of my fave pop songs on this album but i'll let it play when it comes on, it has a weird throw back vibe that is p.cool, and the lyrics are fine, but it doesn't really go anywhere, there's no climax. It's just a chill pop song. 69. Death By A Thousand Cuts - Taylor Swift Another well written track, this one even moreso. "I ask the traffic lights if it'll be alright they say "I don't know"" LOVE that lyric. It immediately invokes imagery, you start to imagine a sad, confused person driving home looking longingly at the lights, wanting advice from anyone/anything. Other lyrics like "I look through the windows of this love even though we boarded them up" and "My heart, my hips, my body, my love, Tryna find a part of me that you didn't touch" all tell the story of a heartbreaking tale and you can imagine it all from start to finish. This is Taylor at her best, and I wish she'd return to this writing style fully. 68. Feels - Kehlani This is one of her BEST songs, and was on repeat the entire year. It never really got old at all. The instrumental is basic, but her lyrics and most of all her voice shines soooo much here. The ad lib runs over the verses are so beautiful! That final bridge and chorus are the best part of the song and her runs become even more intricate! YAS this is what I want from her!! It's a natural progression that I loved. 67. Liar - Camila Cabello 66. Sweet Spot - Kim Petras 65. Heard It All Before - Dinah Jane 64. Only Human - Jonas Brothers 63. No New Friends (feat. Sia, Diplo & Labrinth) - LSD 62. 365 - Zedd & Katy Perry This was done dirty, where the hell are all of Katy's fans? This could have been a cute hit! Peaked at #86? I like the way she quikly runs through the lyrics, it's obsessive, it's an obvious manufactured pop song - maybe that's why noone connects with it? It's fun, a la Katy's normal hits and should've been a top 40 hit. 61. Should've Said It - Camila Cabello 60. If I Can't Have You - Shawn Mendes / Travis Garland Cover I don't know/listen to anything by Shawn. This song however, is not bad. I liked it a lot more when Travis Garland covered it, and did it better. He gave it life, was more excited, and the final runs in the chorus? Brilliant. 59. Do With It - Betty Who 58. Blame It On Your Love (feat. Lizzo) - Charli XCX I likd this alot solo, but stopped listening after a while. Now, with Lizzo on it, I've played it more than the solo. It's a rare case where the feature makes the song alot better, she fits on here like a glove with her rap verse. 57. If I Can't Have You - Sara Bareilles 56. Cheating on You - Charlie Puth 55. You Don't Own Me (feat. Ariana Grande) - Kristin Chenoweth 54. Massacre - Kim Petras I don't f*** w/demons, but I can't deny she sounds explosive on this song, and I don't get halloween but I def played this alot when it ws released. The chorus is the best part of this, and the slashing instrumental in the background was a very smart addition. 53. 2 Places - Tori Kelly 52. Cruel Summer - Taylor Swift 51. Mother - Charlie Puth
