Oh wow surprised to see Walk With Me here :omg: I considered it for my list too, but I will just patiently wait for her proper comeback!
Adore You is a ****ing masterpiece, so underrated here and overall, literally her best song since Imagine It Was Us, can't get enough of it, 2020 will be Jessie's year for me :jamming:

All Mirrors :clap3:

Let me check those songs by Bat for Lashes and Jessie Ware, I loved some of their previous stuff but I kinda forgot about them this year.

Clairo's album was amazing :jonny: I liked the CHAI album too, so much fun.  Songs wise Maybe was pretty great as well and Tia Tamera hihi.

Also not Roses Gabor, that name sounds so familiar but I can't figure out why.

80 - 71

KsWxN3k.png

80. Orville Peck - Pony

I was really excited about this debut mostly because of the mystery behind daddy Peck  but the actual music was pretty interesting. A consistent debut with gorgeous vocals and dramatic corny cowboy vibes.

Faves: Dead of Night, Turn to Hate, Hope to Die

OzXVtU5.png

79. Connie Constance - English Rose

Pitchfork compared this to Nilufer Yanya and I just had to listen to find out if it was a reach and it wasn't. Connie has a gorgeous deep voice and her debut is personal, distinct and really lovely.

Faves: Fast Cars, Give & Take, Sober

3nzmwQb.png

78. Hannah Cohen - Welcome Home

Shura hyped this record and I wasn't disappointed. Really sweet pop music with a nostalgic haze over it all. Gorgeous vocals and melodies as well

Faves: Dissolving, All I Wanted, This is Your Life

mkO1T0l.png

77. Baby Rose - To Myself

Baby Rose has a  gorgeous and distinct voice that reminds me of Nina Simone. The maturity in her voice makes surprised this is just her debut.

Faves: Artifacts, All To Myself, Show You

cJzJC8n.png

76. Jenny Hval - The Practice of Love

Catch me talking to myself everything I listen to this. Really interesting lyrics and thoughts on the topic on Fertility.

Faves: Accident, High Alice, Six Red Cannas

LFSGfDx.png

75. Spellling - Mazy Fly

Spellling creates a witchy atmosphere with synths and her vocals. The album left a lasting impression on me just for how weird it is and the mixed influences.

Faves: Hard to Please (Reprise), Golden Numbers, Haunted Water

3b1X7W0.png

74. Dido - Still on My Mind

Dido's most consistent album for me. Lovely production and vocals as expected with songs that are a lot lighter than her previous work.

Faves: Hurricanes, Hell After This, Friends

AppQ1oy.png

73. Claude Fontaine - Claude Fontaine

Love the mix of genres of this especially the reggae vibes. A dreamy collection of songs that you can imagine hearing in random coffee shop

Faves: Hot Tears, Little Sister, Cry for Another

oTUwEbO.png

72. Oh Land - Family Tree

Haven't checked on Oh Land in a while and I really enjoyed this. The second half of the album is especially good. Really lovely writing and simple but enjoyable production.

Faves: Someone I Can Be Alone With, Brief Moment, Sunlight

TaJT1E0.png

71. Big Thief - Two Hands

Took a few listens to really click for me but this is such a great follow up to UFOF. Raw emotional vocals, great production and some of their best writing for me.

Faves: Forgotten Eyes, Two Hands, Not

70 -61

70. HANA - Cowgirl Bebop

makes the twitch album worth it after all

69. Kim Petras - Sweet Spot

Hearing this live was such an experience. Kim is hear to stay

68. Georgia - About Work The Dancefloor

I'm so hyped for Georgia's album next year and this started it

67. Banoffee ft. Empress Of - Tennis Fan

Such a bop and another 2020 album I'm geeked for.

66. Sasami - Take Care

Sasami really dropped a single that outsold her entire debut

65. Hatchie - Stay With Me

Adds to my sad girl in the club banger playlist

64. Erika De Casier - Good Time

such a sexy track. Love the Janet vibes

63. Aldous Harding - The Barrel

Addicting melody on this (also one of my fave videos this year)

62. Shygirl - Uckers

The scream sample is such a ki and so effectively used

61. Popsmoke ft. Nicki Minaj - Welcome to the Party (Remix)

Had to include Nicki's best feature this year :eli:

Yess at Loreen's Walk With Me. It's soo good. It reminded me of the sound of her first album (which I love). Hope she's releasing more songs with that sound.

:jonny:right. it kinda reminds of me of ride as well which I preferred

Great picks for Brittany's album, which was also a great album! Clairo, talent, Hannah, talent probably (only recently gave it a listen), Dawn, talent!

I'm SOOOOO happy Roses Gabor finally released a full album. I'm glad you gave it some props, including my fave track from the album!

Agreed with Cheap Queen and Adore You write-ups. Kids in the Dark is AWESOME!

:jonny: the taste

New Breed is a bit low :'( Dawn serves again :'(

Adore You :clap3: probably my least favorite out of 3, but still amazing!

Who Knew is a bop :katie2:

So many serves in the song update, Sweet Spot, AWTD, 66-62... the flavour.

Orville Peck talent, yup yup yup! Ooh that Connie girl, I meant to listen to her album... but forgot. Jenny's album was cute! And Big Thief, obviously legends.

Okay the singles are a SLAY too. Sweet Spot, probably my favorite Kim track because I'm obsessed with that disco/house influence. About Work the Dance Floor is just an awesome bop. Stay With Me cute!

Do My Thing is awesome, but interestingly enough I find it less on the sexy side compared to the rest of the album and more on the carefree, fun side (probs the lyrics). And The Barrel, YES! That melody is easily what drew me in, especially the added backing vocals in the second chorus.

70. King Princess - Cheap Queen

King Princess goes for a laid back debut with retro influences that work pretty well for her. Lovely writing and production especially in the 2nd half

Faves: Cheap Queen, Watching My Phone, You Destroyed My Heart

6sqtNSE.png

69. Emilie Kahn - Outro

Checked this out cuz of the album cover tbh but I was pleasantly surprised at this. Gorgeous melodies and I love the use of the harp on this.

Faves: Island, Will You?, Swimmer

G72WFNs.png

68. Banks - III

Definitely Banks' weakest album but there's growth in her writing and her production on this is some of her best.

Faves: Till Now, Sawzall, Alaska

Nice dream pop debut with gorgeous melodies and simple lyrics that really get stuck in your head
Faves: Habits, Geology, Chinatown

65. Geowulf - My Resignation

Lovely vocals, catchy melodies and great dreamy production on this. Kept growing on me with every listen
Faves: Evolution, Falling, I Want You Tonight

64. The Day - Midnight Parade

Initially thought this was just okay but returning to it in the summer made me switch so hard. gorgeous dream pop debut

Faves: Where The Wild Things Are, We Killed Our Hearts, Island

P9VfhFJ.png

63. Sigrid - Sucker Punch

Great production and vocals with her signature explosive sound and some really unexpected tracks. I still wish 'High Five' made it on her album

Faves: Strangers, In Vain, Business Dinners

A3tlakk.png

62. Billie Marten - Feeding Seahorses By Hand

Really gorgeous introspective writing on this. The production and her voice add enough to make me want to just keep on listening.
Faves: Mice, Blue Sea, Red Sea, She Dances

w70anj2.png

61. Julia Jacklin - Crushing

The writing on this elevates it from being your typical breakup album. Gorgeous melodies and vocals as well

Faves: Head Alone, Good Guy, Turn Me Down

Honestly, this slaps and will always slap.

59. chloe mk - David Bowie

A love song that starts with "I miss David Bowie I miss Prince"

58. Faye Webster ft. Father - Flowers

Love everything about this especially how it doesn't fit the album

57. Hannah Diamond - Shy

But I'm still shy,  I-I-I'm so-so Shy,  I-I-I'm so-so Shy :chick3:

Such an extensive set of lists :jonny2: So much good stuff to see. Love the Orville Peck nod. I quite enjoyed his debut (though I only listened to it once like yesterday dd).
