Maddox Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Disappointments of the Year (TV): Again taste is subjective; i'm sure there's a lot of actual garbage TV out there but i can't get around them bc there's like 500 shows getting produced yearly. Anyway, what's worse for me may be good for you and that's ok! Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (S2) - Netflix Show has completely gone off the rails; quickly turning into your average teenage Netflix soap drama with "supernatural" elements. What a waste of Shipka's talent Barry (S2) - HBO I don't have much to say abt this one except that i absolutely f*cking hate this show and its protagonist. That fifth episode was a tryhard stunt that even the edgiest TV heads fell for it for some reason. Dead To Me (S1) - Netflix The corny Girl Power'd ending ruined this for me but yeah great performances, beautiful performances... Veep (S7) - HBO JLD lost her emmy and WE ARE HAPPY!! Brooklyn Nine-Nine (S6) - NBC Maybe the twitter campaign was a mistake lol Killing Eve (S2) - BBC America RIP Villanelle's cool factor (S01E01 - S01E05) The Bold Type (S3) - Freeform Inserting the New Yorker Cat Person story into a meaningless plot A YEAR LATER after we've all suffered though the whole discourse online was a clear signal that this show is very out of touch... Also, i can't tolerate its empty lib fem (Freeform™ approved) politics anymore sorry!!! The Society (S1) – Netflix Interesting concept ruined by bad actors and ****ty romantics plotlines Stranger Things (S3) – Netflix A remix of its previous seasons with Russians as the evil guys. okay stuff! Elite (S2) - Netflix Like Stranger Things, it's basically a remix of its previous season. I feel like i would appreciate this show more if the kids were college or something? Like why is this set in high school?? We don't even get to see them worried about their tests or their grades, except for like 2 scenes and they were treated as an excuse to get the characters involved in some romantic or sexual storyline(?). Anyway if you want edgy and hot, watch Euphoria instead! And the worst show of the year is.... Spoiler The Other Two (S1) - Comedy Central I guess the only funny part about this show is the last segment where the creators of the show talk to their actors abt the episodes as if there's something interesting to dissect abt some "youtube red" quality type **** (even that feels unfair to youtube considering the shows they produced recently) I feel like the biggest offense about this show is thinking that giving your characters a sense of sarcasm somewhat makes them interesting... it really doesn't. There's only one person who's capable of doing that and her name is Lena Dunham that's IT!! The show can't figure out if they want to make the two siblings cool or offensive or quirky goofy nice... it's all a giant mess The sister with the valley girl act is very one dimensional and annoying. The gay brother is somewhat interesting but he's just there, commenting on whatever that's in front of him with that smug face of his Obviously the folks who made made this show are clearly out of touch. They have no knowledge of youth culture (i guess their only reference is watching a Jacob Sartorius music video from 4 years ago?) or any meaningful critique of Hollywood like critics claim. The pop culture references are dated. Seriously this is NOT a funny show at all. One final thing: The "My borther is gay" song is so ****ing dumb. Get taste people Edited December 7, 2019 by Maddox
Scandalous Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 wtf The Other Two is like my fav new show this year, I think it’s hysterical and I personally thought this was Stranger Things’s best season so far I quit Bold Type halfway through season 2 (after that godawfully cringey ‘white privilege’ episode), so I’m assuming it only got worse from there. I got so sick of its “let’s see what SJWs are mad about this year and make it a plot point” stories

I just don't get what's so exceptional abt this show? Like i said b4, the only time it was remotely edgy is when they made the now tasteless Britney joke lol As for Stranger Things, i get why it was entertaining for some, but for me it was mostly a "been there, done that" with no added value. And you were right abt TBT! Recycling old social talking points without any hard hitting resolutions is a waste of time.
