theblackestday Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) as always, I’m not doing a songs list, but I wanted to shoutout some standalone songs that came out this year (or notably good songs from wack albums). I rushed this out and probably forgot some songs but we'll deal! Taylor Swift - "It's Nice to Have a Friend" (x) Quote everyone who knows me knows I hate ms. Swift with a passion. I think she's a useless hag who contributes nothing to society but sonic terrorism. She's had zero good songs. ZERO. That was until It's Nice to Have a Friend came along and the only time I would willingly listen to a song of hers Róisín Murphy - "Incapable" and "Narcissus" (x, x) Quote talented songs, don't get boring Jessie Ware - "Adore You" and "Mirage (Don't Stop)" (x, x) Quote digging the direction Billie Eilish - "Everything I Wanted" (x) Quote her album was fine, but this is arguably better than anything off it Moses Sumney - "Virile" (x) Quote where is the album we need the damn album Poppy - "BLOODMONEY" (x) Quote up until her EP I never thought I'd be interested in Poppy, but I think she pulls off the whole industrial / metal thing quite well. This song is one of the top examples of it. Shygirl - "Beauts" and "BB" (x, x) Quote where is the album we need the damn album [2] Sasami - "Take Care" (x) Quote a standalone single released after her album which almost matches the highs on it Dinah Jane - "Heard It All Before" (x) Quote the best 5H girl, there you go, I said it. When did any of the other girls serve a song as good as this classic R&B jam? The accompanying EP was cute too Zara Larsson - "Don't Worry Bout Me" (x) Quote you know, I thought Zara was utterly talentless until this song, which is by far her best. Love the chill balearic beat going on and the song is so jammy Jai Paul - "Do You Love Her Now" / "He" (x, x) Quote finally Ms. Paul came through with new songs and guess what he did? that. that is what he did ("He" is the superior track, in case you were wondering) Rico Nasty - "Roof" and "Sandy" (x, x) Quote she's the bitch with long hair and the top off. Lafawndah - "Daddy" (x) Quote yhis song slaps hard, the album was so disappointing Faye Webster - "Flowers" (feat. Father) (x) Quote spoiler: her album will make my honorable mentions, but this song is so good and drastically different from the rest of the album it needed to have a moment of its own here. SUNMI - "Noir 누아르" (x) Quote the flavour Jon Hopkins & Kelly Lee Owens - "Luminous Spaces" (x) Quote the absolute snappage, the collaboration the world needed but doesn't deserve. TheWayWeWere Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Charli and forevher only HMs WIGH is such a grower, especially with her live performances ps: your graphics SLAYS
bestfiction Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 well hello there the Taylor drag in HMs It's Nice To Have a Friend as Taylor's only good song go off Miss Roisin definitely served, I liked her previous less boppable album but her disco bangers are what we love her for so x Don't Worry Bout Me stanning her best song by far Noir is amazing too western hoes could never Poppy's transition to metal is really the best thing that happenned to her, she excels at it for sure as for albums, I'd say Charli deserved better but not that much since the album is quite a mess and BIOYL shouldn't have existed so x forevher is a cute girl too
